Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Galatasaray-Chelsea Bet: Chelsea @2 (Pinnacle) (6/10) Galatasaray with tough matches in the CL. They had absolutely no chance against Real Madrid in group but were able to kick Juventus out of the CL. But it has to be recognized that Juventus played absolutely shit in this CL group stage with 3 draws (once against each other team: Madrid, Gala, Kopenhagen), one win against Kopenhagen and two defeats against Madrid and Galatasaray. Chelsea on the other side with an average CL group stage as well in my opinion. Loosing both games against Basel in which they two times underrated them completely, two wins against Bukarest and two wins against a weak Schalke. The most important fact about Chelsea is that they are often not taking their opponents serious enough and then end up drawing or losing games they wouldn't need to lose. However once it comes to important matches against opponents they don't underrate-> CL, they are taking the matches serious and show really good performances. Not to forget Mourinho who is known to be one of the best tactic trainers in important matches with full focus on winning them. I also believe that Chelsea is a team which has the right tactic to defeat Galatasaray. They are relieing on their defense (which is one of the best defenses in europe) and then have fast wingers which can get past the opponents defense in a matter of moments. Galatasaray is not used to play against such a good defense in league or against such a high quality team. Oscar was subbed off during the game against Everton while Luiz and Mikel missed it completely. Luiz is likely to miss the match against Galatasaray while Oscar and Mikel are likely to be able to play. All in all still value in this pick for this odds, but once the odds drop more I would be more careful with taking this bet.

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th i think chelsea can steal this 1-0 as its probably going to be match of hard dogged defending from both sides. both sides are going to play similar football and both managers looking for a narrow lead on counter attack. chelsea is very good team at the moment but mancini should not be underestimated because of his premier league experience. i don't think this is match is one to put in accumulator but under or chelsea on handicap has has the most value

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th 4pts Both teams to score Evs Coral Chelsea’s form in Europe hasn’t been crash hot this season so this isn’t the easy tie the odds suggest it is. We’re almost sure to get a big night out of Didier Drogba and with the quality that is around him this should be a tough night’s work for Chelsea. I think if you offered them a score draw right now they would snap your hands off and I see the game going something like that. The even money on both teams scoring looks perfectly acceptable to me. Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Have seen Galatasaray in a couple of group stage matches and I think Chelsea will win this match and seal the tie. The hype about the intimidation of the atmosphere really refers more to their old stadium in the heart of the city but now, if I'm not mistaken, Gala have moved to a new stadium further out from the city for the last 2 seasons. The main theme I think we'll see here is Chelsea's power. The turks were rather fortunate to qualify considering the way their last group game panned out and I remember someone saying here on this forum that they have no chance in the knockout regardless of who they draw. I think we'll see Chelsea physically impose themselves and boss this match. Chelsea will totally dominate in midfield and from there on only one thing can happen. The jewels in this team are obviously the attackers in Drogba, Snjeider, Bulut and Yilmaz. However these players need to receive the ball in good positions and Mourinho imo will select the right combination of midfielders to shut this down and then take hold of the middle of the park. The Gala defence showed us against Real Madrid how it handles elite attackers and Chelsea have a couple of them. When Drogba and Snjeider are starved of the ball the frustration will grow and I'm hoping that idiot Felipe Melo has another of his trademark moments where he is capable of taking anything good that his team has done and flushing it down the toilet in one moment of madness. Mourinho vs Mancini is another favourable match up. One is known for getting the tactics right in the big games and enjoying much European success. The other has never led a team to the last 8. Jose probably knows Snjeider and Drogba better than Mancini also, and will know their weaknesses. I see a constant stream of Chelsea on the front foot and trying to make things happen broken up periodically by Gala surges and creating their own chances. The important thing is that Chelsea play at their efficient best. I think that they'll have a lot more chances to score than the hosts, so it's imperative they are sharp in front of goal and put them away. Also I think because of this good Chelsea defence that kills off danger most of the time, that Gala will require many more chances to score a goal and think they won't score more than once here. So I think if Mourinho does what he did away to City and play positive and dynamic football then Chelsea can score a few goals here. There's no need to sit back vs Gala as their midfield can't match Chelsea and sitting deep would be dumb because it brings their 2 stars in to play. Instead we should see Chelsea asking question after question of the Turkish defence and not resting in their advantage if they get ahead but instead send out a message to the other big boys of the UCL who had big away wins.

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Galatasaray's new stadium is in the second in Europe of the most intimidating stadiums :) ''After closing up the Ali Sami Yen, this stadium became the new “hell” providing fans a new venue for their feverish excitement and uproar. In 2011, it recorded a ear splitting 131.76 decibels; the world’s “loudest crowd roar in the world” by the Guinness Book of World Records. Talk about intimidation!' 'That sounds too ridiculous when someone writes a preview about a team that he has no idea about the team news. Galatasaray defense has improved a lot with the new transfers, having keeping clean sheet eight of their last nine games. Drogba hasn't been in good shape lately but he might have been keeping his strength for this match. Felipe Melo? The guy is in life-time form for Christ's sake! I don't think that Chelsea will create a lot of scoring chances as they are barely attacking in their games because of Mourinho's disgusting system! :lol For Chelsea, best chances of scoring must be freekicks and corner kicks as they are deadly on set pieces actions. Galatasaray midfield can easily match with Chelsea since Selcuk, Ceyhun, Sneijder and Melo are in great shapes. There's no way that Jose is knowing Sneijder and Drogba better than Mancini as Jose worked with them more than four years ago. Galatasaray are a totally different team in Europe, they have a better defense now and I am expecting them to use their home advantage in the first leg. Galatasaray DNB at the insane odds of 3.15 Marathon!

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th I can see a few scenarios, where things go wrong for Chelsea. One cannot just write off a team that is at this stage of the tournament. Knowing Mourinho, he will concentrate on winning the tie rather than go all in on this first away game. On the other side, any team from this part of the world will concentrate on their home game. I will be taking the 1X double chance on this one, edspite Hazard who is on fire lately.

The new stadium is the impressive looking 'Turk Telekom Arena' - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C3%BCrk_Telekom_Arena I think Galatasaray fans still tend to create an intimidating atmosphere at home games, but I am sure that Chelsea's players will be well used to such a hostile atmosphere and that it won't be an important influence on the result.

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Star players of the Turkish team had already break the resistance of any serious competitor. Under the distribution came Juventus , which, thanks to its own sluggishness appeared without spring stage of the tournament. In the upcoming match unlikely viewers expect sparkling football. It is possible that the outcome of the match will decide one goal scored , but it can be and not be. Galatasaray this year is very uneven playing in the national championship , because the team has focused on the Champions League. Turkish team managed at the last moment to crawl out of a difficult group , where along with them were Real and Juventus. Now for passage in the quarterfinals of the tournament need to win to pass Chelsea. Wont be easy, but still worth a try. Likely to achieve in the home arena a minimum winning , because thefans who came to the match, do not allow lions play for a different result. Galatasaray has experienced performers , including Didier Drogba and Wesley Snyder. However, they all used to work under the current Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho , therefore , Mou know how to neutralize their strengths. Job done and because Galatasaray missed this season 14 goals in the Champions League - the most participants in the playoffs of the tournament, Chelsea can score one or two. Chelsea is the only team to beat Galatasaray in his field in the Champions League. This happened in October 1999, 5-0. This is the biggest away win in the Champions League for Chelsea. Historically, turkish teams are teams that give numerous errors in defense and gifts. Chelsea is very strong right now, its very difficult to score them a goal as being viewed in the latest matches. If to all this we add that Mou is a specialist in this type of competition is very complicated for CimBom. So seeing that this very strong behind Chelsea with very great counters developing, will opt for Chelsea. There is no doubt that in the reporting opposition Mourinho will not depart from usual scheme , so it has all the chances to finish the fight with another "clean sheet", Peter Cech. As to who will score in today's match , likely not Eden Hazard , as it might seem to many. In the Champions League often scores Oscar for Chelsea. I am with the always surprising right defender, Ivanovic. 1) Chelsea at 2.20 SBOBET 2) Ivanovic (Chelsea) anytime at 11.00 Bet365

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th I don't think you can look at a Champions League game in isolation from league form. A team that is struggling for goals, and conceding plenty is unlikely to turn this around in a Champions League game (Man United a decent case-in-point). Likewise a team that is scoring and winning, tends to carry some of this form into CL games. Galatasaray have been banging in goals and have won their last 7 games at home. I think it is reasonable to expect a goal from them Mourinho will prob set Chelsea up similar to how they played in the Man City game. But he is a difficult guy to predict. He may go 19th century and play for a 0-0 draw. In cases like this , I would rather roll the dice with a small bet at big odds. Galatasaray to win HT and FT draw is my bet . 18-1 on betvictor for 1 unit here

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Over 2.5 I think Galatasaray will try to win this game because away trip wont be an easy game by any means. Because of possible 'all in' tactics this might give Chelsea some good chances to score aswell so Im sure this will be exciting game.

Re: Galatasaray SK v Chelsea > Wednesday February 26th Well the match began according to script. Gala couldn't survive in midfield and it was such an issue that Mancini made a substitution at the 30' to put an extra man in the middle and take back some control after they went 0-1 down. This worked and with the extra player they got some stability back in the middle. Chelsea unfortunately after taking the lead didn't push and consolidate but instead the dynamic play went away and the Turks began to grow in thee match. To my disappointment Chelsea wanted to sit deep and protect their 1 goal and conceded off a corner when Terry didn't pick up a run in the 6 yard box. A sin in a Mourinho team. They invited Gala to apply the pressure and they obliged with the Turks have large periods of possession in the second half. Mourinho then introduced Mikel to try and re-establish the midfield advantage and then the match became Chelsea just riding out a 1-1. So in summary Chelsea started positively like when they beat City away, and the match was very open and stretched and nice to watch with both teams having chances. Then they transformed into their other persona of a turtle shell as the match wore on. Would of liked to see end to end for the entire match but managers went conservative.

Exactly what I said about Mourinho concentrating on winning the tie rather than the fixture. So far I've had 3 entirely accurate posts and nobody thanked me. Hard to establish yourself these days.
