Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Disagree. This game can easily end in a draw. Marseille at home doesnt concede much and are pretty tight especially in french ligue 1 against PSG. Under 2.5 goals is a must here cause I dont see marseille score that easy. PSG wont score 3 goals either. 0-0 0-1 are likely results. PSG played great in europe twice now but in the league they still strugle sometimes. Gonna be a big public bet the away win so even more signs to stay away. Ill go for the unders and Ibrahimovic anytime!

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Yes you right under must be a good bet , but im gone choose PSG and maybe PSG-1 PSG are 2 or 3 class higher than Marseille now , i think they have find their playing system and especially in midfield (Verrati is magic) with Motta to protect/teach him and Matuidi deplacement and pressure ,the midfield battle gone be easy against the poor midfield of Marseille, even if it's at home (i dont have compositions yet) And i think Marseille gone be more tired than PSG after this CL day (This PSG play always a good match when they play Big Name teams and this match is the BIG Classico of Ligue Historically) For the scorer Ibra of course, could do something , but Cavani for me gone have more opportunities ,Ibra gone be more tired i think , BUT it's Ibra you know :) GL senk and sorry my bad english :)

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Bastia – Lorient Bastia welcome back a trio of players who all missed last week’s sensational late comeback against St Etienne. The defensive duo of Harek and Squillaci both return, whilst midfielder Yann Cahuzac is available too. They do however have right back/midfielder Diakite suspended. Lorient meanwhile, are given a major boost by the news that their main striker Jeremie Aliadiere is fit and ready to start for them. He’s always such a big fitness concern though and god knows how long he’ll last here, it honestly wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go down after 10 mins or something. Lorient as always, have plenty of other injuries, but for once have no new concerns compared to last week. I don’t know why Bastia are priced up so big here. They are renowned as one of the strongest home teams in France and this place is an absolute fortress. Bastia have played 3 home games here so far this season, won 2 of them and drawn with OM. Lorient meanwhile, have lost all 4 of their away encounters, they haven’t even managed to score an away goal yet this campaign. Good luck to them trying to get anything at Le Stade Furiani in a prime time Friday evening match. It just isn’t going to happen very easily and Bastia are an absurdly big price. I definitely have no hesitation in backing them -0.25 here. Prediction: Bastia 3-1 Lorient Recommended bet: Bastia -0.25 @ 1.97 6/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th

no im OM supporter's who live in paris (like 50% of fans) its just my feeling , Marseille play with young player with no experience , i think their lose in this sunday match gone be a start of crisis period ... I repeat THIS PSG always made a good game in big match without an exceptional Mandanda , Marseille was losing 5 or 6-0 easily , and against an Dortmund with many important missed

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Monaco – St Etienne Monaco have kept largely injury free this season but have a few problems here. Left back Kurzawa is ruled out, along with in-form striker Emmanuel Riviere who is denied the chance of playing against his former club. Jeremy Toulalan is of course still sidelined too, but Monaco have massive squad depth in the middle of the park so this isn’t an issue. St Etienne meanwhile, have striker problems again. Both Brandao and Erding are injured so they are going to have to start a makeshift guy upfront – hardly ideal when facing a side like Monaco. At the back, Loic Perrin remains out too, and they’ve really missed his influence and presence in defence. Sainte have conceded 6 times in the 3 games he’s missed and they’ve generally looked very vulnerable defensively in all those games. St Etienne have been a continuous tease in the last couple of seasons. Just when you think that are ‘for real’, inexplicably they go on a poor run or slip up badly in a match everyone expects them to win. They somehow threw away a 2-0 lead against Bastia last weekend in a game they totally dominated for 85 mins. Quite how they come back from this I’m not sure, but it certainly won’t be easy. Monaco haven’t had the most comfortable of weeks either. Despite remaining unbeaten this season their performance away at Reims last weekend left a lot to be desired and they were even fortunate to draw that fixture. In the build up to this game coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed the reason that star winger James Rodrigues isn’t starting matches is because of ‘mental’ issues. There’s just one or two signs of some slight unrest within the Monaco camp, probably because they didn’t win last week. This doesn’t concern me though, neither does their result and performance at Reims. That is a very hard place to go and Monaco thought they could just turn up and win, which was a mistake. They will be bang up for this game though and want to prove a point to doubters who criticised them. With the international break approaching too, they will know the importance of getting a victory. Good teams usually put a lot of effort into matches before any sort of break and I expect Monaco to be strongly fired up. They will also want to make sure they apply pressure to both PSG and OM ahead of Le Classique on Sunday. I’m expecting Monaco to pick up a fairly comfortable victory. They are a much better side than Sainte and I’ll snap up these -1 odds which seem generous to me. The visitors are nothing more than mediocre right now, have no strikers and are mentally fragile. I love opposing them in this match and it’s Monaco all the way for me. Prediction: Monaco 3-1 St Etienne Recommended bet: Monaco -1 (asian) @ 1.91 5/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Guingamp – Rennes Once again, Guingamp have managed to keep a very consistent squad and they have no new injuries or suspensions to worry about. No1 GK Samassa remains out, but his replacement Guy Ndy Assembe proved last week that he is a more than able deputy. For Rennes, Vincent Pajot is suspended, but they welcome back the duo of Kana Biyik (def) and Konradsen (mid). This is a tough game to predict because it all depends how well Rennes respond from their derby defeat against Nantes last week. This is yet another Breton derby for Rennes so they will have to get themselves up again. They have more quality and class than their opponents, but Guingamp are probably playing the better football right now and can’t be underestimated. I’ve been fairly impressed with them at home this season and they’ll create chances. I think the bookies generally have their lines set fair and I prefer to avoid betting. I can’t believe coach Philippe Montanier will accept another poor Rennes display, so be careful of the visitors here. Prediction: Guingamp 1-1 Rennes Recommended bet: None Lille – Ajaccio Lille have key defender Marko Basa injured here. He joins winger Ryan Mendes on the sidelines but apart from, these losses, Lille are in good condition. Ajaccio still have a lot of injuries, especially in attacking areas and they are down to their bare bones in places. At least striker Adrian Mutu does return though which is a boost. I’m expecting Lille to win this game but a handicap of -1.5 doesn’t interest me. Ajaccio are a poor side but have at least shown some decent fight recently. They somehow beat Lyon and then managed to come back from an early red card against Montpellier to earn a point. Of course having goalkeeper Memo Ochoa helps a lot too and he often plays well against big teams. Lille should in theory win easily but I will stay away here because the handicap scares me. Prediction: Lille 2-0 Ajaccio Recommended bet: None Nantes – Evian For Nantes, left back Olivier Veigneau is back, although left winger Vincent Bessat is ruled out. Evian have a couple of problems in defence. RB Dja Djedje is still injured and now CB Jon Mensah can also be added to that list. I think Nantes will probably win this match but their odds are pretty short. Les Canaris are on fire at the moment and a real form team. Realistically, they should have too much for Evian but are they really at least 2 classes better than them, as the odds would suggest? I’m not sure myself and there’s also the chance of a ‘letdown’ performance from Nantes following a very emotional derby victory against Rennes last Sunday. That was a big game in which everyone was seriously motivated, will they be as focused for a side like Evian? The visitors aren’t that bad anyway and it’s certainly not beyond them to get something here. I favour Nantes overall but this is a game I prefer to swerve. Prediction: Nantes 2-1 Evian Recommended bet: None Toulouse – Nice Toulouse are at full strength here apart from one absentee. Unfortunately for them its a big loss with shutdown centre back Abdennour suspended. He’s possibly been the best defender in Ligue 1 this season and his form is superb, so will be missed. The rest of the squad is at least in good condition. Nice don’t have any new injuries to worry about. Key left winger Eric Bautheac will be out of action for at least another month, he’s the most notable guy on the sidelines for the visitors. I think this’ll be a tight contest. It smells of a draw to me and I can’t see too much separating the two sides. I rank Nice as slightly better, but not by much. I’ve been impressed by the recent form of both of them and neither can be underestimated right now. I would actually back Nice here but what puts me off was their miserable display at Nantes a couple of weeks ago. In many ways, this is a very similar contest and they’ll face a side who’ll employ similar tactics. So another no bet for me here, I just can’t call this one. Prediction: Toulouse 1-1 Nice Recommended bet: None Valenciennes – Reims The hosts have injury prone Gregory Pujol back on the sidelines but generally have a squad in pretty good condition. This is a must win match so I’d expect a pretty attacking formation to be employed. Reims have two suspensions, Turan and also right winger Fortes who is usually a threat. The visitors travel here unbeaten in 7 games and face a VA side who have lost their last 7 straight! So Reims won’t lose again then, should it be that simple? Well it probably won’t be because this is life or death for Valenciennes now. They HAVE to win this match following 7 straight losses and I’d expect them to throw the kitchen sink at Reims here. If they lose, then VA coach Daniel Sanchez will probably get sacked, so we’ll know exactly how much support he has in the dressing room following this game. I’ve got a feeling VA will get the win they need but I couldn’t back them with monopoly money here because their price is too short. Prediction: Valenciennes 2-1 Reims Recommended bet: None Cheeky meatman treble! - Lille, Nantes & Valenciennes all to win @ 5.50

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Montpellier – Lyon The issue for MHSC here is in defence where they have fullbacks Tiene and Jebbour suspended. But apart from long term casualties they don’t really have any other problems and the squad is in pretty good condition. This is especially the case in midfield and attack where the coach has a virtual full house to choose from. Lyon though aren’t in such a good way and have real issues in defence. A number of players are out including Lopes, Umtiti, Bisevac and GK Vercoutre. Those guys in their own right could form a first choice back 4 if in good condition! At least Henri Bedimo is back and midfield and attack doesn’t seem as badly affected anymore. Montpellier have only lost 1 match this season but are on an insane run of 5 straight draws. They seem to lack the killer instinct to finish off games and go on to collect 3 points. Still, at least they are hard to beat and have looked fairly organised under Jean Fernandez. Lyon meanwhile, are a shadow of what they once were, for so many reasons. They just simply aren’t much of a force in French football any more, and whilst they are still a decent team, at the moment they are nothing more than mediocre. Injuries have hit them hard and they’ve had to play a lot of matches recently. With them being involved in the Europa League, its been a tough schedule for OL and they will welcome the forthcoming international break. In all competitions, they’ve shockingly only won 1 of their last 9 games These are two of my favourite plays of the season so far. Starting with the hosts, well I just really like them because Lyon are in such a tough spot. Thier backline is going to be really makeshift and Montpellier should be able to create a lot of chances in this match. The likes of Cabella, Mounier etc will enjoy a very good game here and cause all sorts of problems. Another reason I like Montpellier, and I say this nearly every week is because the timing of this fixture. 2pm start times favour home sides much more and away teams usually struggle in them. But Lyon will create chances here and their best form of defence is to attack. Remember, Montpellier are slightly weakened at the back too and could be potentially taken advantage of. I think this’ll be a wide open game and I fancy the overs in it too. The final scoreline could end something silly if a few early goals are netted. Montpellier’s price is massively generous on a -0.25 line, they have a great opportunity of inflicting more damage on a wounded Lyon. Prediction: Montpellier 4-2 Lyon Recommended bets: Montpellier -0.25 @ 2.09 7/10 & Over 2.5 goals @ 2.30 4/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Bordeaux are without the midfield duo of Poko and Nguemo here, they also miss left winger/attacker Maurice Belay. Sochaux have no new problems except the suspension of Carlao who can either play in defence of midfield. Both teams have a couple of things in common here. One is that Francois Gillot has managed both sides, the other more surprisingly is that both have only picked up 1 ligue win so far this season. Bordeaux’s lone success was a 1-0 home victory against Bastia way back in August, whilst Sochaux finally got off the mark last weekend against Valenciennes (2-0). They are currently under the management of interim coach Omar Daf and the players have already spoken of his positive influence. But beating Valenciennes is one thing, doing it away in Bordeaux is a completely different matter. The hosts usually have big problems following Europa League games and have regularly produced flat performances after playing on Thursday nights. They lost at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv in their latest European fixture and sit bottom of their group. A least they weren’t travelling this week though, which will make recovery slightly easier, but Sochaux will know there’s a chance of catching them fatigued. I think the bookies have their AH lines set up pretty fair, and where they should be. To be honest, you’d have to be slightly crazy to stake multiple units on Sochaux anyway. But I will have a small 1 unit bet on Sochaux to win outright. It’s not beyond them to win and for Bordeaux to have a European hangover once again. Prediction: Bordeaux 1-2 Sochaux Recommended bet: Sochaux straight win @ 7.0 1/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Marseille - PSG Both teams have few injury concerns ahead of this Le Classique encounter. OM have left back Jeremy Morel ruled out, which might not be the worst thing because he’s been in poor form this season. However, that means youngster Benjamin Mendy is going to have to start there, this sort of occasion might be too much for him. Upfront, Andre Pierre Gignac is included in the squad but not expected to start. It usually takes him a while to recover from injuries so I don’t expect him to be particularly effective, even if he does play 20 mins or so. Of course, the big PSG injury is to centre back Thiago Silva who is one of the best in the world in this position. Marquinhos is a more than able deputy and also just as dangerous going forwards popping up with the odd goal! Ok so this is ‘le Classique’ and its the biggest fixture in the whole Ligue 1 calendar each season. There is immense hatred between these two teams and a huge rivalry. This is also a massive game in terms of the title race and the result here could be pivotal. If any side can collect 3 points here they would gain a big momentum shift and set themselves up nicely. Marseille haven’t looked that good this season although have managed to find ways to win matches. Only Monaco have managed to beat them in the ligue, although Arsenal and Dortmund pretty much outplayed them in the CL. This is the problem for OM, they tend to struggle against big teams and don’t pick up enough good results against them. This is a worry because PSG usually play really well are and are massively ‘up’ for this type of fixture. To be brutally honest, and it pains me to say this, if PSG turn up with their A game they could claim an easy victory here. Quite simply put, they are a better team than OM and just have extra class with players like Cavani and Ibrahimovic. OM need to hope that PSG are below par. The visitors don’t have the best of records at Le Stade Velodrome either although do have a recent H2H advantage. They have won the last 3 fixtures, all by a 2-0 scoreline although all of those games were played in Paris. I would love to see Marseille pick up a good result here and they will fight really hard, but the result of this game is so hard to predict because it all depends what sort of mood PSG are in. My gut feeling is that the visitors will stamp their authority and win, but I hope I am wrong. I couldn’t possibly bet on PSG anyway, they don’t deserve to be an odds on shot at Le Stade Velodrome. I’m not going to bet on the outcome of this game, and I don’t fancy any of the goals markets either. But I will have a small punt on a speculative bet. The referee in charge tonight is Clement Turpin, which is a strange choice because he doesn’t usually get big fixtures, he’s certainly never been anywhere near Le Classique before. The important thing to note about Turpin isn’t necessarily the amount of cards he dishes out, but the colour. He’s very much a man who goes by the book and letter of the law. He’s not afraid to show red cards and indeed no referee in ligue 1 has shown more since the start of last season (17 in 25 games). This game is going to have incidents and it could seriously kick off at some stage. I’m happy to have a punt on a red being shown, and I’ll also have a nibble on him showing one to both teams, as he may want to even things out in this department. Prediction: Marseille 1-2 PSG Recommended bets: A red card to be shown @ 3.75 2/10 & A red card to be shown to both teams @ 25/1 (paddy power)

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Great call on the Montpellier game Meatman. Hope PSG will deliver tonight expect a small win here. They seem to hit a decent form by now and they have to win to keep track of Monaco. Will be a good match to watch I guess and a lot to happen on both sides. Zlatan anytime is my bet with small stakes. This guy is just too good and always dangerous wouldnt surprise to see a penalty as well tonight.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 4th - 6th Cheers guys. Knew it! I knew OM would somehow fuck that one up grrrrrrrrr. Bah that is such a shame against the cunts of Paris. Ah well, the red card came in. I didn't see it but supposedly it was a harsh decision. But this is exactly why I betted a red with this particular referee in charge. Great round, I really wish the international break wasn't coming because I feel mega on form.
