Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd In the first game of the weekend i fancy bradford to win at 2/1 with coral. last 3 meetings between the 2 ended 1-1,1-2 and 1-1 but bradford have done well in cups to say upset could be on the cards in this match. I fancy Lincoln city at 13/10 to do the business v Mansfield and some outstanding price that stand out. Southend 2/1 v bury. head to head southend have been decent v bury. Gillingham playing well can upset PNE at 11/4 well big price. Carlisle at home 7/5 can do enough. Barrow can upset Macclesfield at 8/5 i think. will post more later.

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd Not sure if I would fancy us to be honest, promotion is the goal this season and we have dropped off a bit in recent weeks after a blistering start. First choice keeper Nelson, who is certainly one of the best in L2 is out suspended after getting sent off last week, so the infamous Tommy Forecast will come in, will be one of his first starts in the football league as far as I'm aware but if you listen to Southampton and Grimsby fans he is the worst keeper they have ever seen! Could be interesting.. Young Jack Payne has been made 'available for transfer' (which is basically code for transfer listed) after a possible fall out with mad dog or not really liking the rotation policy, he is our best central midfielder as far as I'm concerned, but I'm not sure if he would have played on Sat anyway as MA will look for the more physical approach of Montrose as def mid. Kedwell will start after missing the game on Sat, as for the rest of the team who knows? As usual MA will make 4 or 5 changes I'm sure.. I understand why people would look to bet on us, and looking at the price we are probably good for a few quid but I wouldn't go mad. Port Vale too might be worth a small play on a +0.5 handicap or similar, still playing well at the top of league two and their takeover has just been completed, the have pace in the team and I think this will be a game that suits their style of play as Sheff Utd won't sit back. Worth a play on the prolific Pope to continue his fine goalscoring form for them too, he gets most of their goals and is available anytime at 2.75 (skybet) which seems a good enough price. In the big game of the round I can't really see anything other than a Franchise FC win, AFC Wimbledon do have goals in them but they also shift them at an alarming rate. Ardley seems to have brought in a fair few new faces but Wimbledon are not a good side in L2 and playing the occasion can only lift you so far. MK will be well up for the game and have a very good squad of players expecting promotion to the Championship this season. A bet for the romantics perhaps? A draw would be a cracking result for them.

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd At first glance Doncaster look a great bet at Oldham given their form and away record. Oldham have their keeper suspended. However doncaster have Hulme and Cotterril both suspended who are 2 of their better players also billy Painter an able replacement for hulme is injured. So i am leaving it.

Alex Cisak has been recalled from his loan at Pompey so I assume Oldham intend to play him in goal....

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd Tempted by Brentford tonight they are a good side in good form. Johnathan Douglas is back for them he is a very good player for league 1 imo. 2.2 is not a great price though was expecting a bit more than that so think I will leave it. Might go the other way and back Bradford if they drift out as high as 4.0.

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd Oldham-Doncaster under 2.5 @1.83 5/10 ladbrokes Both sided already faced each other in midweek's league match where Doncaster won their home match with 1:0 thanks to a goal from winger Cotterill (8 goals/7 assists). Unfortunately, he also picked up a yellow card and will be missed. Furthermore striker Hume (3 goals/3 assists( was sent off and will miss through suspension as well. Midfielder Martin Woods (1 assist) was forced off during that match and is out for this match. Striker Paynter (5 goals/1 assist) missed that match and is a doubt for this match. Defender Grifin and winger Bennett (2 goals/1 assist) are already out. Oldham will be without right-back Byrne and keeper Bouzanis because of suspensions after picking up yellow and red cards repectively. With all those missings, this one has written under 2.5 all over it. Oldham have seen 14/20 gone under 2.5 so far while 11/20 league matches from Doncaster finished with less than 3 goals. GL

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd Fleetwood-Aldershot under 2.75 @1.84 3/10 188bet Fleetwood are really lacking of good strikers as strikers Mangan (2 goals/6 assists), Parkin (4 goals/ 1 assist) and Gillespie (4 goals/2 assists) are all out with injuries. Defender Mawene is also out through injury. Keeper Davies admitted that they really need to get their strikers back as they lack of goal threat up front. Aldershot could see striker Reid (6 goals) returning, but his replacement Lopez who scored 3 goals in 4 appearences is ineligable to play. Both teams didn't create many chances in their last matches. Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd Harrogate v Hastings Let us start in the FA Cup and what is the least glamorous tie of the round as the two lowest ranked sides in the competition play each other. This does give both sides a massive chance of getting to the 3rd Round however. I was watching Sky Sports News on the day of the draw and they were at Harrogate’s ground as they watched the draw being made. Their reaction to getting Hastings is one of the main reasons I am backing Hastings on Saturday, because they were celebrating like they had already made it into the 3rd Round. This was pretty much the only tie which would mean they were favourites so I can understand them being happy, but if I was from Hastings watching this reaction it would give me extra incentive to win. I also think that it means Harrogate might well go into this game with the wrong mind-set and think they just have to turn up and win. Hasting’s performed really well in the last round when beating Bishop’s Stortford and although Harrogate are a bit better than them I still think it proves Hasting’s have it in them to win this match. 9/2 about an away win is readily available and a price worth taking for me. Lincoln v Mansfield Here we have another tie which guarantees another non-league side reach the 3rd Round. I have pointed out a lot recently about Mansfield’s away form and although they won at Macclesfield in the League recently they then followed that up with a loss in the FA Trophy replay at Matlock on Tuesday night. They are lucky to even be here as they needed penalties to see off Slough in the last round. Maybe the players will improve their efforts as they are playing someone from Blue Square Premier, but I am happy to take them on again given Lincoln’s strong recent form. Granted they failed to land my tip last Saturday, but hopefully that will show them they can’t switch off and it will be a reminder that they aren’t unbeatable, given they should really have won the game. Boylesports and Stan James are 6/4 about a home win and I think that is a very fair price. Alfreton v Leyton Orient This game is live on ESPN on Sunday afternoon and rates as one of the best bets of the weekend. I have watched Leyton Orient twice in the last few weeks and their recent run of form has come as a surprise. Obviously I was at their 1st Round tie with Gloucester City where they really struggled to create any decent chances especially in the second half, until two defensive errors late on meant they sneaked through 2-0. That win and the one against Shrewsbury prior to that seem to have given the team a new lease of life though and having struggled for wins and goals they have now won five games on the bounce, scoring 13 goals in the process. Alfreton have been a hard side for me to get right this season, but the issue they have had at times is scoring goals and also keeping them out at the other end. Their last home league game was on TV and they played well against Newport, but still let in three goals despite the fact Newport were poor. They conceded three in the FA Trophy on Saturday and I just think that in the form Orient are in right now they look a good bet to beat Alfreton. I also think the fact they struggled to beat Gloucester will make them more aware when playing this game that they need to perform. Coral’s 5/6 looks a good bet.

I was going to say the opposite really. Not sure if I'll have a bet yet, but all league form goes out of the window here as it is the cup. If this was a league game, say next season when they're both in League One. I'd have Brentford about 2.2 then. Bradford have got a bit of a thing for cups this season too, and also don't let the fact this is League One V League Two lull you into thinking the difference in quality between Bradford and Brentford must be huge, when it really isn't. I wish you good luck if you take Brentford :ok buy for me they're too short :ok

Iv'e seen Harrogate a handful of times this season and wouldn't like to oppose them. On their day they can play some real quality football and should be up to winning this match. I don't think you need worry about their motivation. Just because they are happy with the draw doesn't mean they will take the match for granted. Good luck though if youv'e had a bet.

I always bet the tips I put up and in my view reaction is a big factor tp their mental state. I remember a few years ago when Cambridge and Torquay both got to the bsp play off final. Cambridge celebrated getting there like they had already won promotion, whilst Torquay were nice and calm and knew they had won nothing. In the final Torquay won easily. Harrogate for me think they are already in the 3rd round and hopefully that will count against them today. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd 4pts MK Dons (-1) to beat AFC Wimbledon 21/20 Stan James Whatever happens here you sense Milton Keynes aren’t going to come out of this game in a good light as their part in the move which has been a stain on English football for the last 10 years and their shameful history will be relived in the media right up until kick off and probably beyond. However after all the history is drawn up and the rights and wrongs are discussed there will be a football match taking place and you have to believe MK are good things in it. They are in good form right now and AFC Wimbledon are conceding too many for comfort. The AFC players will give this a good go but deep down everyone connected with the club will know they have won just to be playing in this game. MK need this win a lot more and I think they will get it. Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd One spread play for me: Adam Boyes' player goal minutes, 19 to buy with Sporting. Barrow have been in good nick, creating rather more chances than their results suggest. They proved at home to Forest Green that on their day they are a decent side. Things are a bit more settled in the squad and we are starting to see something a bit more adventurous in their strategy. They could be meeting Macclesfield at a decent time - Macc had a good start to the season and a brilliant win over Swindon, but things have started to tail off and the rather odd set-up is starting to look, rather than quirckily successful, a touch dysfunctional. Boyes will be in the places were Macc have looked very vulnerable recently - between the penalty spot and the edge of the area.

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd 4pts Leyton Orient to beat Alfreton 5/6 Coral I like Leyton Orient here. I’m sure Alfreton will give a good account of themselves but when push comes to shove Orient are a League 1 side and they should be a cut above Alfreton. Orient will be helped by having come past one potential banana skin in the last round when they went to Gloucester and won on a cold night and that experience can stand them in good stead to make it through to round 3 at Alfreton’s expense. At last we agree lol. It wasn't that cold when we played them either, certainly not cold enough for Cox to have warn gloves. I might forgive him for what he did that not if he scores the winner tomorrow.

Re: England > FA Cup > Nov 30th - Dec 2nd The story of Alfreton's season really creating loads of chances but not taking them and poor defending costing them at the other end. Orient's class in front of goal really was the main difference and having thought I was looking at easy money at half time I was glad the 4th went in because Alfreton were the better side in the 2nd half.
