Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012

Hi again Aidymac I remember earlier in the thread you said you would avoid Sundays mostly so as to bring down your golf handicap, which seems a sound idea as Sundays are mostly dross, but have you now stopped also doing Saturdays or are you just simply just enjoying a few days away from the regular punting/playing more golf? As I write this I was going to go through the thread and see how Saturdays have generally worked out for you unless you know this already. I'm still recording these to BSP, win and place, and will report back once I get to 100 selections, currently running at 50 since I started on 18 March.
Hi mate, no it is just a coincidence that i have not done it the past 2 weekends. I took the quare one to Connemara last weekend as a treat, and the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, sea and big rocks for a 40 mile radius, that is why i missed last weekend. I missed this weekend because i was playing golf Saturday and Sunday, they will be back up and running again in the morning mate, sometimes it is nice to have a day or 2 break also, clear's the head... Thanks mate :-)

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Categorical - Redcar 2:35 - 7/2 into 11/8* Better known as a handicap chaser these days, but good effort sole run on Flat in 2011 when second over 1¾m here in October and won't lack fitness following another jumping campaign. *1 Point WIN @ 2/1 Bluesquare* *Oscar Baby - Fakenham 3:15 - 25/1 into 12/1* Just modest form in bumpers and 3 qualifying runs over hurdles don't suggest that opening mark is generous. *1 Point WIN @ 18/1 Betfred BOG* *Landaman - Warwick 5:05 - 9/1 into 4/1* Won Pontefract maiden on third run last season. Moody display last time, though, and improvement needed to defy current mark. *1 Point WIN @ 8/1 Betfred BOG* *Carthalawn - Cork 5:05 - 5/4 into 10/11* Grade 2 winning chaser in 2008/9 and reached frame in good company on both completed starts last season (behind likes of Big Zeb and Golden Silver). 3-time winner in points since and stands out. *1 Point WIN @ 10/11 Paddy Power BOG* *Scottish Star - Yarmouth 3:00 - 10/1 into 4/1* Little impact in pair of 7f maidens in 2010 but step up in trip saw an improved display when landing Lingfield maiden 14 months ago. Not seen since and looks on tough mark on handicap debut. *1 Point WIN @ 13/2 VC BOG*

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Captain Bellamy - Southwell 4:35 - 4/1 into 11/4* Won for the fourth time round here (easily beat Blackmore) over C&D in February and not far off that level when third (1¾m) at this venue since. Better suited by 2m and should go well again. *1 Point WIN @ 3/1 Betfred BOG* *Fantasy Fry - Southwell 5:05 - 8/1 into 4/1* Best recent form when second in a C&D seller in January for Tom Dascombe. Hasn't repeated that level since, including when well behind third-home Jonnie Skull back over C&D a week ago. *1 Point WIN @ 5/1 Bet365 BOG* *Cheers Buddy - Pontefract 2:20 - 22/1 into 7/1* Things gone downhill since bagging a brace of Irish handicaps at up to 1m last spring. Potentially very well treated as a result, though, and perhaps new yard can coax him back to form. *1 Point WIN @ 8/1 Betfred BOG* *Es Que Love - Pontefract 3:20 - 16/1 into 4/1* Made all over 5f at Beverley in May and back on the up when second in 6f nursery at Goodwood in July. Finished last year with some lesser efforts, and needs to resume progress. *1 Point WIN @ 11/2 Hills BOG* *Daring Indian - Pontefract 5:25 - 12/1 into 5/1* Cheap buy from Criquette Head-Maarek's stable who improved on previous efforts in this country when scoring at Kempton (1¼m) in December. Failed to repeat that form back there recently, though. *1 Point WIN @ 13/2 Boylesports BOG* *Ballynacree - Fairyhouse 4:00 - 8/1 into 7/2* Belied odd of 40/1 when impressively landing a 2m Gowran maiden hurdle on debut in February, and lost little caste in defeat when chasing home Lord Windermere at Naas since. Open to improvement. *1 Point WIN @ 9/2 Paddy Power BOG*

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Fiducia - Lingfield 2:20 - 9/1 into 4/1* 14,000 gns yearling. Second foal of a 9f/1¼m winner. Stable not renowned for early juveniles and only of interest if strong in the betting. *1 Point WIN @ 6/1 Bet365 BOG* *Escape Artist - Lingfield 2:50 - 22/1 into 9/1* Tricky customer who won handicaps at Redcar and Thirsk last season for Tim Easterby. Fair effort when runner-up at Kempton (1¼m) last month but opposable dropped in trip here. *1 Point WIN @ 12/1 Hills BOG* *Ssafa - Lingfield 3:50 - 8/1 into 4/1* Runner-up a couple of times in 2011, including on seasonal reappearance. Last seen running poorly in August, but can go well fresh and still low mileage. One to consider. *1 Point WIN @ 5/1 VC BOG* *Majestic Breeze - Catterick 2:00 - 11/2 into 11/4* Shaped well on debut last summer and subsequent efforts easy to excuse. Handicapper could have been harsher and likely to do better this year. *1 Point WIN @ 7/2 Boylesports BOG* *Lizzie - Catterick 2:30 - 10/1 into 11/2* Second of 2 Thirsk wins gained on reappearance in July. Back at that level upped to this trip when third at Doncaster in October and sound claims if fully tuned up on return. *1 Point WIN @ 7/1 Bet365 BOG* *Mohawk Ridge - Catterick 4:30 - 7/1 into 7/2* Recorded a personal best when scoring over 2m here in August. Twice placed afterwards, including off this mark back here in October and unlikely to be far away if ready to go on reappearance. *1 Point WIN @ 9/2 Boylesports BOG* *Boucher Garcon - Catterick 5:00 - 4/1 into 9/4* Clearly benefited from a gelding operation when showing marked improvement to land a 5f Musselburgh handicap on Sunday. Of obvious interest if turned out quickly under his penalty. *1 Point WIN @ 9/4 VC BOG*

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 For those interested, here is an updated graph of P/L against number of bets with a linear trend line. Most noobs tend to come in on any system just when the graph has topped out and is way above the trend line. As the graph returns towards the trendline (mean reversion), they lose and as the graph continues downwards they quit the system. That is why most casual system gamblers lose. I would recommend that while the graph is above the trend bets are reduced in size and when it is below the trendline bets are increased. This is how I've been betting my systems for over 20 years and I'm still here !! ?xak6gllkdod6wib

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Spirit River - Aintree 5:25 - 16/1 into 15/2* Developed into a smart hurdler in 2009/10, landing Coral Cup off 4 lb lower. Was running better race in corresponding event this year prior to falling at the last. Stamina not assured. *1 Point WIN @ 10/1 Bet365 BOG* *School Fees - Folkestone 2:45 - 9/1 into 9/2* Placed all 4 starts at 2 yrs, including when third on handicap debut in August. That form worked out very well and comes from stable who do well with this type. One to consider from good draw. *1 Point WIN @ 11/2 Bet365 BOG* *Angelic Upstart - Wolverhampton 8:25 - 10/1 into 5/1* Won a couple on AW in late 2010 but didn't progress last year, running poorly on turf. Return to this surface likely to suit but has wide draw to overcome on belated reappearance. *1 Point WIN @ 13/2 VC BOG* *Invigilator - Wolverhampton 8:55 - 12/1 into 5/1* Sole win for Harry Dunlop came over 6f at Kempton last April, and back to form when 2½ lengths third over same C&D penultimate start. Lesser effort over 5f latest, and trip a worry again. *1 Point WIN @ 6/1 Betfred BOG*

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012

Hi Aidymac I thought I’d come back and let you have an update as I’ve been monitoring these for awhile. I was taking an interest before but I started properly to keep daily records of Betfair SP for both the wins and the place, particularly after you said that at BSP the places were making good profits. I commenced on 18 March and since then you’ve had 70 selections. I know I said I’d wait until 100 selections but as I’ve across a significant anomaly I’d thought I’d bring it up now. At the prices you’ve taken, or BOG, at about 11.00am each day, in that period, 18 March up to and including 11 April the system has accumulated profits to level stakes, of 36.76 points. Tremendous stuff. Unfortunately, for me anyway at BSP, this profit is only 4.57 points. Even worse during this admittedly short period the place BSP is showing a 1.38 point loss, but that’s I think still showing healthy profits in total as I believe you have longer records. I think this shows probably that after your posting there is still some significant movement down on prices, that the gamble is still progressing or that everyone is piling in once they see a horse being backed. You’re obviously doing the right thing by placing your bets at that time. By taking BSP and I assume SP, I am getting no value. I’ll stop backing these to win and just stick to placing at BSP from now on. Thanks for all your help with posting these. May I ask what are your up-to-date returns on the place only selections?
Bets - 316 Wins - 165 U/P - 151 S/R - 52% Profit - +34.50 Points to level stakes Yield - 11% That is the record of place only up until the 6th of April mate...

One thing this does highlight is the termendous value BOG bets are. I'm not certain the bookies quite understand what they're giving away, or if they do, they're happy to have BOG as a loss-leader. Possibly some punters don't realise either. In particular the Fred super-BOG races are great value, especially if you like Lucky15's :)

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Mosstang - Leicester 2:20 - 8/1 into 4/1* Cheaply-bought yearling, first foal of an Irish maiden, but shaped with some promise when third at Kempton at the weekend (ahead of Lyric Ace). Wouldn't be sure to confirm that form here. *1 Point WIN @ 11/2 Boylesports BOG* *Gouray Girl - Leicester 3:30 - 12/1 into 11/2* Ended 2010 on the up when decisive winner of Newbury 7f handicap. Patchy form last season but attractively weighted and one to consider on first run for her new stable. *1 Point WIN @ 7/1 VC BOG* *Bloodsweatandtears - Leicester 5:45 - 12/1 into 5/1* Decent placed efforts in blinkers (no headgear here) at Epsom and Sandown last summer before out of frame next 3 starts. Needs to bounce bounce back but returns on a fair mark and been gelded. *1 Point WIN @ 7/1 Stanjames* *Titus Bolt - Wolverhampton 5:55 - 22/1 into 7/1* Made late headway in 7f AW maiden at Lingfield second of 3 starts at 2 yrs. Opening mark looks harsh on return, but market check vital as could easily have progressed over the winter months. *1 Point WIN @ 10/1 Betfred BOG*

Re: Aidymacs Market Movers 2012 *Shades Of Grey - Windsor 5:30 - 16/1 into 5/1* Had little in hand when shedding maiden tag in 1½m Newbury lady amateurs handicap in October. Well held off this mark final start but returns with yard among the winners. *1 Point WIN @ 6/1 VC BOG* *Homeward Strut - Wolverhampton 2:15 - 9/2 into 5/2* Improved since blinkers fitted, winning a couple of low-grade C&D handicaps and running good races in defeat the last twice. Would meet most of these on much better terms in a handicap. *1 Point WIN @ 3/1 VC BOG*
