  1. Honestly.. I am afraid for Nantes. It will work in start probably as it will be (I hope) big motivation to play under so famous coach, but if he will try to force his style, sitting deep, focus on defence and with counter attacks, then I thibk that it will be a huge step-back for Nantes. He is moving from pretty old, experienced team to one of the youngest teams in France...

Moreover a shape of Nice will be totally different in my opinion and even thiugh it looks that Favre will remain on the bench, quality of the squad won't be as high as in last year. Well, we'll see.

I will have already started making a preview of L1 on my site.. page will be updated daily so till the 1st round I expect it to be a whole preview with all important informations. You can find it here: http://www.fa-p.eu/p/ligue-1.html?m=1

  2. We'll see what will happen. I'm not saying, that Serbians won't win, but that because of the background of this national team nothing is clear, and it won't be for a while. @DrO I don't know how close you are to the national team, but I have some friends over there, and they are all saying that even if things are looking better, there is always 50/50 that something will "explode" again.

@StevieDay1983 we could open one topic for summer transfers in general or not? :D That's probably the most interesting things during the summer break. Btw.. Ranieri might be new coach of Nantes. I sincerely hope that it won't happen...

e: I don't get Deschamps.. why Sissoko if you have Mbappe, Lemar, Lacazette, Dembele...

  3. Nicely written. And yes, especially after half-time changes Juventus was outplayed tactically and even if people are saying that Zidane is far from tactical specialist he proved them wrong. Well him or his coaching staff (probably all together, but normally managers are taking all the credits for positive and negative scenarios). But on the other hand Real Madrid has an goalscorer (Ronaldo), while Juventus.. everything but that. Moreover, Higuain played for all 90 minutes. I would probably substitute him in 60-65th minute, or at least try to change something up there, because it was too obvious that their plan isn't working.

We are used to see people praising Juve's defence.. Real Madrid recovered the ball 12 times more, they had more tackles and same number of clearances. One more time, Casemiro played amazing! And not because of the goal, but because of defensive work.

    p.s. As it's written:

    Quote

Juventus came out of the tunnel with a different mentality: defend deep, invite pressure, and if possible, hit them on the counter attack or leave the game as is and hold out until the end in the hope of extra time or even penalties.

Exactly. Generally I totally agree with Guardiola's quote (obviously :D): "My job is to bring you up until the last third of the field". I had feeling, that Juventus was without offensive plan for the match.

  4. Monaco won't agree with bid under 100M € in my opinion. Arsenal seems funny to be in this mix, even though he might be "new Henry" and even though Wenger was in Nice yesterday.. :D Unfortunately, I have a felling that he will finish in Real Madrid. Maybe not in this season, but soon anyway. Besides, he is big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo.

About Monaco.. Bernardo is gone, while Mendy, Sidibe, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Lemar and Mbappe are still here. They succeeded with bringing Tielemans in, but I am pretty sure that they will try to do everything to keep as much as possible.. if not, then at least to earn as much as possible. I've read the news that they've rejected the 35-40M offer from Man. City for Mendy. They have Almany Toure as really strong backup for right (even left) full bavk position so I am pretty sure that at least one of them will be gone. In my opinion, besides Kylian.. Mendy is the biggest treasure in the team and I am pretty sure that City is just playing a game with Bertrand.. Monaco probably knows that City is one of top3 clubs which will be prepared to pay the highest price for Benjamin.

  5. As I wrote in my analysis on site: "There is one other thing, which needed to be mentioned at Real Madrid and even if it's not from tactical point of view, and that is self-confidence, winning mentality. We could even say that there is not just a will or a desire to win, they simply know that they will win and that's why they are so successful recently."

And that's what happened. Juve scored amazing goal, they started playing much better, it even looked for a few minutes, that they are taking the game in their hands, but then happened. Casemiro shot from "nowhere", Khedira touched the ball and Gigi was without chances. Who knows what would happen with 1st goal of Ronaldo, if Bonucci wouldn't touched the ball...

Second thing: "Weaknesses will be decisive for sure in this match. Even though it's a good question what is the meaning of weakness as both clubs are on top level, but the team who will concede the goal due to their own bigger error, will find themselves in tough position."

While third goal.. simply error in position where it shouldn't have happened. Especially not to Juventus. Moreover, I cannot even remember one match, where Juventus did such a mistake. Real was simply there, and "finished" the match.

About my American "friend". Obviously he knows a lot and it's a shame, that he is banned, but his way of communication is ... . Instead of talking normally (I cannot even use a word politely when it comes to him) all the time accusing everyone for everything possible who wasn't thinking exactly the same (as English isn't my first foreign language, I have learned a lot new words to swear from him :) ). In my analysis, I was actually talking really respectful about Real Madrid, but for him, I am a cule and I am saying bullshit.

All in all, congrats to Real Madrid for breaking the history. In my opinion it was a season where top clubs weren't on the highest level. With that I mean especially Barcelona and Bayern, who had lots of problems during the season. Next season will be more interesting, as we'll see Chelsea (specialist for knockout matches) back in CL, as well as some other EPL teams, but I think that 2 of them will fail to qualify out of group stage. :D

  6. I think that Atletico has the same problem as Barcelona. More or less the same lineup for several years, nothing has changed, same coach, same style,.. and in my opinion, lack of motivation as well. I think that Griezmann cannot improve in Atletico anymore and that it may be good for him to leave as soon as possible.

Otherwise.. I agree with you @StevieDay1983, Barcelona cannot be at the same price as Real Madrid. Especially not right now.

Maybe there is some value on Manchester City.. but as @DrO said, it's probably too soon to talk about next season. I would rather see what will happen during the transfermarket first..

  7. @andrewcalo can you remember a one match when he wasn't saying that Real Madrid will beat shit out of those fucking wankers?

For me, betting equals investment on long term and if I need to advice to someone what to bet, I would never do it in this way. I know that he is the smartest, the richest and generally the best bettor ever walking on the earth, but as someone already wrote.. I would like to see his stats tracked for at least 1-2 seasons. Even if it would be more objective after 3-4, but well at least 1-2. For me, it's a passion to analyse the match and to try to find the "holes" for the opponent but stil, prediction will come only if there will be value on offered odds.

Looking to those two sides, if Carvajal won't play, there is a small value on Juventus. They are "undersogs" in the match and I slightly disagree with that.

Edit: and don't worry about the waste of time for this analysis. I got paid for that article, and I thought that it could be helpful to someone on this forum as well. :)

Anyway, good luck to everyone who will put money on the match.

  8. As I've found whole analysis of the match bothering people, I edited the post and let only betting point of view. Well.. For everyone who would like to see the whole analysis, you can read it here.

Betting point of view: For me personally, it's a coin flip match. There is that many things which are totally unpredictable and match could be decided by the smallest possible thing. Who will have a better day? That's just another fact, which is impossible to predict. In my opinion, Real Madrid isn't playing at their best this season, and even if there will be lots of people who will disagree with me, I think that they are not. As mentioned above, it's a tricky question, what would have happened, if Bale wouldn't pick up an injury and if Isco wouldn't play as much as he plays recently. Maybe someone thinks that I am overreacting with this player, but he is exceptional. He can make the difference on the pitch with two moves, and okey, I agree - Cristiano is the one, who usually pushes ball into the net, but without Isco, Real wouldn't had created that many chances. Not even close to that! For me, the biggest question is Carvajal. Danilo is far from Spaniards quality, and right flank of Real will be much weaker without him. If he won't play, then I am somehow giving little bit more chances to Juventus than the bookmakers and if on anything, than I would put my thought on Italians, but as everyone knows, I will be staying out of that match. An interesting bet might be both teams to score, as for Real is simply impossible not to concede the goal, while their attack is fortress and it would be a surprise if they wouldn't net at least one, but... why not? Atletico was 1-0 in front till 94th minute, will be that "easy" to score from corner kick against Juventus? Well.. anyway, have in thoughts, that it is the final of Champions league and that anything can happen in those 90+ minutes. If you need to bet, just to have fun during the match, rather bet with friends.
