DanV89 reacted to Trotter in Racing Chat - Thursday Dec 29th
Crikey .........there's a two and a half million dollar yearling running at Southwell today in the maiden race (2.25)
Treaty of Rome made 3 appearances for Aidan O'Brien without troubling the judge and was subsequently sold for 3000 gns
Somebody got their fingers burned there !..............

1220 leop
Courtncatcher 98.83
The conker club 98.82
I knew well 98.80
I knew well sets a good standard here and could run a big race but 7/2 is no value at all against the 12/1 on the top two ...both ran a good race against each other last time and that looks decent form with the former still open to improvement ....decent value bets against the short priced horses
Courtncatvher 1 pt ew 12/1 betvic
The conker club 1 pt ew 12/1 betvic

2.00 leic
Domtaline 98.88
Oliver's hill 98,86
Foundation man 98.84
Foundation man beat domtaline last time but the latter made all sorts of mistakes and is better than that so the 8/1 today looks a value price in a rematch ....Oliver's hill has shown a good level of form recently over fences and should run a good race also 8/1 he looks a nice value bet also in an open race ...
Oliver's hill 2 pts win 8/1 bet365
Domtaline 2 pts win 8/1 bet365

DanV89 reacted to BillyHills in Welsh Grand National - Chepstow Dec 27th
2.40 Chepstow, Tuesday December 27th
Welsh Grand National (3m5f110y) (Grade 3)
One of the biggest handicap chases of the season and dates back to 1895!
Grand National winners Corbiere, Earth Summit, Bindaree and Silver Birch were successful in this race along with Gold Cup winners Burrough Hill Lad and Synchronised.
Mountainous attempts to win it for the third time this year, he will be the the first horse ever to do it, if successful. It will actually be the second time the race will be run in 2016 as last years race was delayed by 3 weeks due to the weather.

DanV89 reacted to Valiant Thor in James McDonald Ban
Its like most things in life the conmen/thieves/scroungers of this world get punished very little in fact often rewarded.
While if you try to be genuine you get your cap nailed on.

DanV89 reacted to BillyHills in James McDonald Ban
Apparently he had £585 on to win over £2k.
This doesn't sound like a 'novice' gambler to me and i suspect he has just got caught out this time? Or does anyone think this was his first bet on a horse??
I appreciate Dan' comments about at least he was trying but obviously we cant really have Jockeys openly betting on races, especially those that they are involved in. It can lead to all sorts of complications and who's to say his next bet was going to be a 'lay' bet? Punters wouldn't be so happy about that and where do you draw the line.
His ban sounds harsh bit i've no idea on the procedures in Australia, i suppose it sends out a lesson if nothing else.
It's funny i can sort of understand a minor jockey doing it but the Godolphin jockey!! Greed if you ask me.
Difficult to try and compare it to Jim Best, the BHA have admitted they would have wanted a bigger ban and messed up big time, no wonder he didn't appeal the decision. I reckon his reputation will be dented for some time anyway and will be lucky to fully get over this setback. Would you send your horse to him? Shame eh!

DanV89 got a reaction from BillyHills in James McDonald Ban
Just wondering what people's thought on James McDonald's 18 month ban are?
"He has been banned for 18 months by the Racing New South Wales stewards and has had his contract with Godolphin terminated.
He was found to have profited from the win of Astern when the subsequent Group 1 winner made a successful debut at Randwick on December 5 last year."
Personally I think it's extremely harsh, surely a mitigating factor must be that McDonald was actually on board Astern in the race in question so there is no question of him bringing the integrity of the sport into question as he was obviously riding the horse to win. I'm sure any punters that were on wouldn't have minded that the jockey himself had actually backed the horse?! I know I wouldn't have any objection to a jockey having a punt on his own horse if I had backed it - at least you would know that you were going to get a true, honest ride.
I appreciate the two cases have been dealt with by two completely different entities but when you compare this to Jim Best's frankly laughable 6 month ban where he actually stopped 2 horses running to the best of their ability I think the whole thing needs a re-haul.

DanV89 reacted to BillyHills in Ante-Post : King George VI Chase (Boxing Day)
I think it depends if Josses Hill is taken on for the lead. That may depend on Silviniano Conti running or Road To Riches who both like to be handy. If all 3 rock up then we have a strong pace for both Cue Card and Thistlecrack to be able to settle.
Tea For Two loves this track but is surely out of his depth as is Roi Des Frances.
I can see Josses Hill leading to two out possibly and then giving way to the Tizzard pair and i just think Thistlecrack would carry my money although i've always had a soft spot for the horses that step up to the table and have a go. (as Coneygree did in the GC, what a good decision that was looking back, he's never been right since that day!)
I wouldnt mind if Cue Card won either to keep the Bonus alive for Cheltenham!

DanV89 got a reaction from BillyHills in Jim Best - Suspended for 6 months
Should've been banned for life for me. It's the only way to send out a clear message to anyone else that might be tempted to do the same. A 6 month ban isn't going to rid the game of corruption.
-
DanV89 reacted to Jimmy2shoes in Jim Best - Suspended for 6 months
He should have got 6 months in nick, fecking hate when trainers feel the need to do that, why would ANY punter be happy, it takes the piss and in a very big way.
Run them to WIN, when will they BAN that Lay bet PISH ?
The Lay bet does nothing but entertain CORRUPTION

3.30 DESERT STRIKE @ 4/1 Betway
Veteran who hinted a return to form last time out and now he's down to a mark of 63 his turn shouldn't be far away. Good draw for his style of running in 3. His last six CD runs read 131712 all off higher marks than today

Racing Post is the obvious place to start, they have loads of photos and you can have them printed on canvas etc...

Some places do charge a fortune so be careful.
If there is a certain horse you want let me know, as some will know i used to photograph horses and have an extensive library of my own pictures.
Have a look at my albums on facebook https://www.facebook.com/gasarson/photos_albums
