To make matters worse, just seen that my long odds bet e/w on Wattimena was actually for the Worlds, not this! 🙈 So I end up with nowt! 😆🫣
-
This is some implosion from Wattimena. Leading 3-2 and he's somehow managed to lose 9 legs on the trot! 😆🙈 He's just fallen apart, at this rate he might not win another leg. Absolute shambles. Edit: just realised the game is already over! I missed the last few legs, but assumed the final would be best of 25 or something like that! 😁

Bally flip man, the standard in Woodhouse Edhouse is shocking.. 🙈
-
Just checked Noppert's last match, eight 180s and a 100 average plus 50% checkout rate, that's pretty impressive. Pie might struggle to live with that, but the crowd will be on his side, still though he'll likely need some more three figure checkouts and a higher average than he's been hitting if he's going to win.
-
Still on Pie and Wattimena. Highly unlikely Jermaine takes out Luke, but the German is playing well, he has a shot against Noppert.
-
Looks to be gone unfortunately. Can't see anything better than 33/1 for the Belgian. Just a bit too short for me to pull the trigger..
-
He seems to have more staying power than Littler overall. Also his doubling has been significantly better than Littler of late. Doesn't matter how many 110 averages Littler scores, if he's only doubling at 25% or so, he's not going to be taking the Worlds crown off Humphries.
-
Bublik definitely falls into the latter category! 😆
-
Cullen played fantastic, it has to be said. If he hadn't missed so many double finishes at the start he could have won it in two. Dobey played a few superb legs but went missing in a few others, Cullen the more consistent and definitely deserved the win, I'd like to see him go deep now, will take something special to beat him if he continues to play at this level.
-
Littler gone and now MVG and Dobey blown out in the first round. Who would have foreseen that?! Would have been a nice treble on that liklihood!
-
@Fader what bookie are these prices/options with?
-
Menzies 4-2 up and then manages to lose four legs in a row. Price did play well but Menzies average went from 108 down to 93 in the space of a couple of matches. And if that wasn't bad enough Searle somehow squandered a 5-1 lead vs Chisnall. Unbelievable. 🙈
-
Blimey, Littler almost threw it away there but just about got over the line. Ross couldn't close the deal after putting himself in a winning position. Can't see Littler winning the title though with this level of performance.
-
Well that was some finish with VdB and Dobey! Van den Bergh after playing sluggishly for several legs somehow nails a brilliant 160 checkout, then squanders 4 or 5 match darts, with Dobey so far back he had practically given up. He must have thought Christmas had come early with all the gifts VdB was giving him! Dobey wakes up just in time to gratefully take his chance and closes out the leg and then takes the following leg and the match with a three figure finish on the bull to compound Dmi's misery! Incredible stuff, from the ridiculous to the sublime! 😁

Blimey. I just saw his 93 average and < 30% on doubles vs DVD! I think it's the inconsistency that's become a problem for him. Whilst he is still playing out of his skin a lot of the time, he is definitely having more off matches than six or eight months ago. If he addresses that then he's surely one of the favourites come December. If he doesn't though....
-
Littler seems to be losing his invincibility. Bit of a concern for him.
-
I'd like to see Draper win but I think Sinner will prove too strong, also Tiafoe has a dreadful h2h vs Fritz, all on hardcourt too. Hence I think the 6/1 boosted special with Skybet for Sinner and Fritz to both win 3-0 is of interest. I will also put a little bit on Sinner and Fritz both to win 3-1 at 12/1, also with Skybet (or 11/1 with Paddy Power). Let's hope we get similar set outcomes in both matches or I'm sunk! 😁
-
Zverev again implodes on the big stage. I think he's destined to never win a major, he just doesn't seem to be able to hold it together, especially when having to deal with a vociferous crowd supporting his opponent. Fritz played well though, nice to see him making the latter stages of a major. He's not without a chance, especially with the crowd support, let's see if he can challenge for the title after this win, one of if not the most important win of his career so far.
-
I think we will see four sets, possibly five, but the support of the US crowd could well make the difference for Francis. I think I will put a small amount on Tiafoe on the outright at 5/4 on Betfair and Tiafoe plus 1.5 sets as a backup at 4/6 with Paddy Power.
-
Tennis-wise, what do you folks think re Tiafoe vs Dmitrov? I was thinking Francis with the help of the crowd should have enough to pull through, but I saw this incredible stat just now on Betfair, which gave me pause for thought. "Underlining his(Grigor's) good form is the strength of his serve having lost only 12 points behind his first delivery over his first three matches." Impressive indeed. So I'm undecided as of now, probably over 3.5 sets, but other than that I'm not sure who I would go for here..

Very sorry to hear that news @neilovan. Not sure there's anything I can say to help, that's an extremely tough situation for you. In Ireland we have our problems with crime but nothing like what it is in some other countries, including yours. Take care of yourself brother.

That's an extraordinary run of bad luck mate, I too was hoping Elena would take her chance but no joy. I must say though I find your analysis excellent, regardless of whether I follow your tips or not and I appreciate all of the useful informative posts you make. Surely your incredibly unfortunate run of near misses will turn around soon. By the law of averages it must do. It's people like you who make this forum what it is. Cheers my dude!
-
Sure enough as soon as I posted that she implodes and gets broken to love! 🤣
-
Your thoughts on Elena Gabriela Ruse were very accurate @neilovan. She's more than holding her own against Badosa currently. 500/1 to win the title still with Paddy Power. Pretty unlikely I know but still can't resist throwing some small change on her.

Temperatures will be up to 36 degrees Celsius today so could be a good day to fade players with fitness issues or who struggle in very hot and humid conditions. Shang perhaps?
