This comment is relevant to both the French Open and the still ongoing Geneva tournament. Ruud's semi vs Cobolli has been delayed til tomorrow morning and as of now he is scheduled to play his first round match in Paris on Sunday morning. Am just wondering is he really going to fancy it. 🤔 We saw Djokovic giving a very poor effort in the third set today after blitzing Machac in the second set. I'd say it's highly likely he strategically decided not to play his best in that final set so as to be somewhat fresh for Roland Garros. If Ruud wins tomorrow morning I think he would have to play the final later that day, if I'm not mistaken? Considering he's a contender for French Open, I would be somewhat surprised if he fancys playing two matches one after the other pretty much, just before Roland Garros. With that in mind, a small speculative bet on Cobolli might be worth a go, and perhaps a couple of quid on Machac for the title, as he'll be have had significantly more rest time than his opponent.

Unbelievable capitulation from Cross. MVG hung in there when he was behind but Cross completely lost focus with the finishing line in sight. From hero to zero in less than a week. Shocking stuff. 🙈

Another go for me with the Paddy Power special. Luke Littler Most 180s (v Wright) & Luke Humphries to Win (v Price) at 5/4 Littler if he shows up at all should easily outscore Wright on the 180s. Humphreys is already qualified yet he still put in a top performance last week so I think it's worth taking him to beat Price to give us the win. 👍

Looking at tonight's matches, there's a special I like the look of: Luke Littler Most 180s (v Wright) & Aspinall v Smith Over 9.5 legs at 9/4 with Paddy Power Littler surely will score more 180s than Wright, the Scot simply is not in the same league as the youngster these days, and Smith and the Asp will both be motivated to try and win tonight as they're vying for those 3rd and 4th qualifying spots, it should result in a close match, with many legs.

Taylor had his chances, was ahead for most of the Dolan match but lost his bottle in the final few legs.

Sure enough Jones won the next two frames to make it 3 each, but then messed up to hand frame 7 to Bingham, and now he's made another idiotic mistake to present frame 8 to Bingham on a plate. 🤦‍♂️ Poor stuff from the Welshman after deservedly levelling the match before that.

I've only seen one frame of Bingham vs Jones but I don't like what I saw of Bingham. Absolutely threw away that frame, although Jones cleaned up nicely when he got the chance. I wasn't hugely impressed by Bingham vs Ronnie either, despite the win. 'O Sullivan really underperformed. If I was putting on a bet now it'd be on Jones or Jones plus the handicap.

There's also Si who's playing like a headless chicken, making Jones look accomplished. 🤦‍♂️🙈

Murphy might go on a run either, I'd make him slight favourite against Maguire, and I wouldn't rule out a run right the way to the final if he keeps his head together.

Watching some of the Anda v Jones match. The standard is dreadful. Anda has been appalling by his standards, Jones should really be out of sight by now, but the only reason he isn't is because he's also playing pretty rubbish, mostly not taking the ample chances Anda has presented him with. The final frame just now to make it 5-2 to Jones was a comedy of errors, the only bright light being Anda's final green to blue where he actually strung three decent pots together (but then missed the final pink!, although he didn't need that anyway). You get the feeling Anda cannot play as poorly in the following sessions, and he'll be boosted by winning that last frame which he could so easily have lost. Whilst Jones is just not that great of a player overall in my opinion, if Anda shows up for the rest of the match, he still has a decent chance of winning, as Jones is just not as good a player as him. I put some money on Jones earlier when he looked like going 6-1 up, even with playing pretty poorly, but I covered with the Zhang+3.5 once I saw him actually potting a few balls in a row, which he has barely done all match, but I think a small wager on Zhang to win outright might even be warranted if the initial signs in frame 8 are good, let's see if he can get himself together and show what a quality player he is when he's in the right mood.

Good call on Searle! He cut it fine but just edged out Anderson in a high quality final! I threw some small change on him at 25/1 so am happy with that. 😊👍

I notice that William Hill are offering 4/6 on a nine darter to be thrown in the Premier League, including the playoffs. Considering that two different players missed it by one dart last night, I think there's a pretty good chance of this happening over the remaining nights. There's also Gary Anderson missing the final dart twice during the Players Championship the other day (admittedly he's not in the Premier League, but still it seems more players are getting very close to a nine darter these days). For me, it's worth the risk even at relatively short odds, to throw a few quid on.

Poor last leg from Humps, shame he couldn't finish the job, MVG starting to build serious momentum now. Hope that Humphreys and Littler can ensure he doesn't start to dominate like he used to.
