    Didn't realise there was a raft of games last night but anyway, onto today.
    Agree with Ally, Sheffield Wednesday at 7/5 away at Preston, who have nose dived in form of late. Wednesday recorded a cracking win up Newcastle last time out, although they don't score a lot of goals Wednesday, they'll probably win this one 1-0.
    Barnsley 5/4 have hit some form and take on Zola's Birmingham City today, who aren't showing any with 4 defeats in 5. Barnsley have recorded the exact same sequence as Birmingham but in reverse, winning 4 of their last 5. Home win here today.
    Lastly, onto League One, Southend 13/10 at home to Charlton. After a slow start to the season Southend have started to put some form and consistency together and now find themselves occupying the last play off spot. Charlton continue to be in turmoil, although they did record a win last time out at MK Dons but I really can't see them getting anything today.
    Sheffield Wednesday 7/5, Barnsley 5/4 and Southend 13/10

    @StevieDay1983 Historically, this is a difficult round of fixtures to call. Experience has taught me to not get too involved this round and keep your powder dry for another day. The only bet i'll be having is a low stakes accumulator on some of the favourites; Man Utd, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheff Utd, Bolton, Doncaster.

    I really like the look of Sheffield Wednesday this week. I watched their win at Newcastle and they put in a superb display, they're bang in form and if they repeat that performance they can take care of Preston, their confidence has possibly taken a wee dent after the home hammering from Leeds. 8/5 for the away win is too tempting for me to ignore.
    Bet of the day has to be Celtic to beat Rangers. Celtic are simply on another level from Rangers at the moment and I think will win this comfortably. I think the odds of 3/4 offer real value here, I was expecting 1/2 or less.
    If Hibs had won by 5 or 6 goals last week, Raith would have no complaints, we missed a very annoying amount of good chances but played very well otherwise, just one of those days when everything seemed to hit off the goalie. If we play like that again, I think it's only a matter of time till it clicks in front of goals and tomorrow could well be the time it all comes good. 21/20 for the Hibs win is a very tasty price. We shouldn't be odds against when we play anybody in this league.

    I'm still buzzing from my teams win last night down at Norwich, puts us firmly back in the promotion race, good price we were too.
    Anyway onto today, give the Championship a swerve today can't really see any obvious winners so it's onto League One, which looks to be full of winners today. Firstly, Rochdale 17/10 away Northampton who seem to be really struggling of late. Rochdale accounted for League One leaders Scunthorpe last time out and are looking solid. Secondly Scunthorpe 7/5 are at home to the in and out Millwall, surprised they are so highly priced here, Millwall seem to be very in and out and Scunthopre are strong at home, home win here. Lastly, onto League Two, Plymouth at 9/5, ok I know they have been out of form of late but they did beat the leaders Donny Rovers last week and Accrington really are in poor form of late, so we'll gamble on the 9/5.
    Rochdale 17/10, Scunthorpe 7/5 and Plymouth 9/5

    A few weeks ago, everyone would be all over the 9/5 for Plymouth to beat Accrington.
    Plymouth looked like they were on a different level for this league but then went on a run of 3 defeats in a row, i've no idea what the reasons for this slump were, any Argyle fans on here with their thoughts?
    Last time out they beat promotion chasing Doncaster, so the question is, are they back to form?
    At 9/5, I'm willing to bet they are, it is called gambling after all

    A nice away treble that stands out straight away on 3 away teams, Leeds 21/20 (can't believe they are being offered at that price) at the hapless Rotherham, Millwall 11/10 at the equally hapless Bury and Peterborough at the totally impotent Oldham, although I said that in midweek and they scored 2 down at Port Vale!!
    Leeds 21/20, Millwall 11/10 and Peterborough 17/10 pays 10/1

    There's a few games I'm interested in this week Stevie;
    Newcastle are an obvious home win but the odds for the straight win are too short, the -1 handicap @ 4/5 is tempting me.
    In the lower leagues, Scunthorpe and Doncaster looks a nice double @ around 5/ 2.
    It's a couple of games in the Championship that have caught my attention this week though.
    Reading v Bristol C.
    Reading are flying at the moment, won 4 in a row, scoring 9 without conceding, Jaap Stam has them well organised at the back (as you would expect) but they're also dangerous in front of goal, a good combination for a football team.
    Bristol C started the season well but are on a bit of a slump and I don't think they'll be confident of picking up the points away from home today.
    The home win @ 7/ 5 looks a cracking bet to me.
    Rotherham v Leeds.
    Leeds should be odds on here, they've improved from last season and apart from a defeat from top of the table Newcastle last week have been in good form lately.
    Rotherham are just hopeless and can't buy a win.
    The away win @ 11/ 10 can't be ignored.
    In Scotland;
    Hibs aren't in action this weekend so there goes my usual money maker.
    League cup final on Sunday should go Celtics' way but it's not a game i''ll get involved with.

    Hibs win 1-0. Bet lost. Betting on football can be cruel sometimes. Hibs really should have been 2 or 3 up by half time after missing 2 absolute sitters, including possibly the worst miss I have ever seen, with Malonga hitting the post from 4 yards with nobody to beat. Shocking.

    I agree. Aberdeen are a better team than Hearts. Anything over evens should be taken. Bet of the day for me.

    Stjarnan v Celtic Celtic were a couple of levels above Stjarnan in the first leg and completely dominated from start to finish, the Icelanders struggled to retain any sort of meaningful possession and barely got out of their own half. A combination of a superb performance by the Stjarnan goalkeeper and rustiness in the Celtic attack kept the goals down to a respectable level. After a week of more training and friendly games, Celtic will be sharper tonight and I think will really hurt the home side with a few goals. Celtic -1 @ 23/20 Hills , seems like a gift to me.
