  1. Re: BBOTD Monday 15th

2.20 Windsor 5/4 coral Its Monday, its the flat, Its Winsdor, Its Richard Hughes and Richard Hannon over 5f...Why go against the obvious? A horse by whipper, will love this deep ground here today, Dam wasnt to shabby either, you can virtually guarantee he will have been well prepared. The record of the stable speaks for itself, and entered in the super sprint in about 7 weeks time. Fill yer boots time for me. Go on Hughesie!
    ANTICIPATED of Course!:rollin

  3. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

Does anyone know where you can find out about sales and how much was paid for certain horses?
If the horse is already named, thru RP, click on dam, progeny sales. However if its unamed, you will need to know which sales ring it went thru.
  4. Re: The US Masters 2013 - April 11/April 14 Tigers Last couple of holes, went a bit astray, 3 off, and what a time o go off today, 7th to last pair, if he starts well he will put huge pressure on the last few pairs to go out. I expect him to be -8 at the end of the day, These are his two days. Cmon the Tiger.:D

  5. Re: BBOTD Saturday 13th 1.50 Doncaster Donny Rover 13/8 Ladbrokes BOG As my horse to follow this year, He should put in his first win today, I expect him to power away inside the final furlong, and move on to better things, if im right, Chester could be next. 10/10 win bet.

  6. Re: BBOTD Friday 12th 4.0 Wetherby Iron Chancellor. 8/1 hills bog, most firms 8/1. 2mile 6 on good ground, is perfect, visor re applied, and the stable are hitting form. Im on at 10 n 12, but 8/1 is still a very good price for a horse of this mark, could leave these in his wake. win bet for me.

  7. Re: The US Masters 2013 - April 11/April 14 Almost perfect start for Woods, couple of drives off, and a few missed puts. Im very happy with -2, expected him to be -3, he said he should of been on -5. If he gets his putter going today, 7/2-4/1 could be still big, If he hits -4 today, to give him -6, he will be odds on later tonight.:ok

  8. Re: Antepost Thread 2013

thank you. I think she will turn up. JO plans to run her in the Oaks and hopes for Classic Glory. In my opinion is the achievement of Tarana far more impressvie than that from LN. But we will see. Another filly that interests me is Rasymeyaa' date=' but don't knwo where she will turn up.[/quote'] The difference here with the oaks...Is if they are both good enough to be in a G1 and fit. LN is 100% Guranteed to stay, and to turn up on the day. Tarana, for me , on the breeding, is a big question mark about staying, HHAG loves the french oaks, and JO would have to run her there if they were not 100% sure about distance. :ok
  9. Re: Antepost Thread 2013

I've got a 26-1 double on Dawn Approach to win the 2000 Guineas and Kingsbarns to win the Derby. Aidymac followed me in and took the same double. I've gone back in again this week but only at 14-1 now. Smaller double on Dawn Approach to win the Guineas and Derby but unsure what to think of Bolger saying the horse won't stay 10f' date=' is he having us on or what?[/quote'] Is that the same Jim Bolger, who said NEW APPROACH would not run in the 2008 "epsom derby", and was left in by mistake, oly to announce that he would run on June 2nd......From 2/1 to 100/1 he drifted..to the eve of June 1st, only to be smashed back in that night.....He won the Epsom Derby. Never ever trusted him after that...If he told me Dawn Approach was a colt..me and thousands of others would have to check.:rollin
  10. Re: Antepost Thread 2013

What are your antepost selections for the 2013 Flat season ? Mine is Tarana to win the Epsom Oaks @ 25/1 Tarana is owned by HH Aga Khan and trained by John Oxx. She was very impressive and quickend well when she won her Maiden Race at the Curragh over 1m. Bronte tried to make all and set a steady pace when Tarana finished fast. Bronte was a lonely frontrunner and had a tactical advantage when Tarana beat her. It takes a very good horse to do that on her first run. Her pedigree suggests that she is best suited by middle distances and fast ground. Her sire is Cape Cross, who is a miler but sired one of the best 12f-horses (Sea the Stars) and her dam Tarakala won over 12f. Her next racecourse appearance will be in the Blue Wind Stakes in the middle of May. I think she is a very exiting horse and good contender for the Epsom Oaks. what did you back antepost?
The very best of luck, but you have just chosen(imo), the hardest race to come up with the winner this year, if not most years, and does the epsom oaks, come high on either HHAG or JO agenda? Id want 25/1 her turning up there. LIBER NAUTICUS at around 12/1, is a far more series individual, The race she took at Goodwood, was and is looking more special as each week passes.:D
  11. Re: The future of on course bookmaking

Like most have said hardly have a bet on course now just not worth it although do have to be careful about phone signal at some of the smaller courses! Southwell is a good example often only a handful of bookmakers there but you cant get 1 bar of signal so not much use! BUT there are FOBT's fitted in the main lounge area where everyone huddles between races during the cold months (not sure theyre there at mo as this was all part of complex badly damaged during flooding and havnt been for a few months now) Are courses really bocking mobile phone signal though??? Not sure theyre allowed to do that??
I was wondering that, I did not have much of a problem at Aintree, made several calls. That was near the parade ring, which is not to far away from the main road, Maybe its more rural courses....Coverage may be limited.
  12. Re: BBOTD - Wednesday 10th April 2.40 Notts..MOVIESTA. 4/1 Sporting bet. May as well put this up now, PM.ed, someone on here around 7.30am this morning about it, so not aftertimeing, as so Tipping line has just put it up..Something to do with a Newspaper.. Anyhow, im on a point or 2 bigger,,,This horse looks like he has been laid out for this back on turf, with just about the perfect draw, I have him in as a 90+ sprinter, and looks like the trainer palyed a blinder here with the jockey booking to try and throw people off, with Tom Eaves on something else. Owned by Harry Rednapp, i was hoping the price was going to stay steady until I found out if he was there today..Nonetheless, this horse should be right in the fireing line, on this course, that favours front runners at this time of the year. 10/10 win bet.

  13. Re: The future of on course bookmaking Most bookies rent out their pitch's for between £300-£500 per day, owing to the lack of trade, and the hike in day to day exes the course has put on. Last weeks GN meeting for an average number in the tatts, before you made a penny,,between 2k-2.5k in ex. They are in the most still honourable, are trying to make a living, however those that rent for the day, can put whatever they like, Exchanges, greed by the big 4 or 5,,, and greed by the courses have killed the on course bookmaker. Not a business id like to be in at the moment. Summer time is even worse, concerts for people who wont or have a £2 bet....its all right saying the crowd at Newmarket, Haydock, Ripon was 15,000 on a friday night..3/4 wont have a bet. Has racing become a side show on these nights?

  14. Re: The Trainers Thread

Quick heads up if it's not yet been reported, but trainer, Ismail Mohammed, is having a storming 2013 so far. 8 winners from 10 runners so far and also a 2nd. He's got some wealthy Arab bankrolling most of his stable and today he runs Magic Lando in the 2:10. Magic Lando's an unraced 3yo and Fanning is riding. Trainer and jock are 1 in 1.
:wall ........Its out the bag "the saint"....LOL... Yep they had a target of 50 for the stable on the first race at Doncaster, Guess they will smash that, When he set up in Feb, paid OTT for a stable crew in Newmarket....Headhunted shall we say. But your right he is here to make a point, and the wealthy arab....I'll give you 2 guess's!:unsure
  15. Re: Guineas

Didn't have a huge interest in the 1.000 Guineas yet, (apart of the Irish one obviously, where I have an ante-post bet on Viztoria @ 10/1 with Bet365) but watched the replays of yesterdays meeting at the Curragh properly now and I thought the Ballydoyle filly Moth was hugely impressive and could be an ideal Newmarket Guineas candidate as long as the ground is decent I feel. She really showed a cracking turn of foot coming off the pace in a slowly run race, while travelling like a dream on the bridle until almost 1f out. There is obviously loads of stamina in her pedigree as a Galileo daughter but her dam is by Seattle Slew whose offspring was most successful over distances up to 1m and who is himself a Grade 1 winner over this trip (even though won over much further as well of course). So there is a chance from a pedigree point of view that 1m is very much within her range - even though further distances as well - and the way she changed gear yesterday in a decent maiden is backing up this. The 14/1 with William Hill are interesting now, particularly as I don't see too much high class quality in the 1.000 Guineas market so far actually.
That was a very poor race MOTH won the other day, take a line thru the 4yo in the race, a group of 0-90 hcappers at best, evrn if MOTH was to improve, i could not give a ratining of 105, Listed Group 3...at the very very best IMO.:D
