  1. First one in the books, EKTIHAAM, Harwicke stakes, G2 on the Saturday. Must surely now go to a OR of 120, which is just about the average for the winner of this race, No prices yet, However dont expect him to have another run in the next 6 weeks, IMO he will be laid out for this race with connections winning this race a few times over the years, and they like a candidate in here. Now gelded we may see a fast improving 4yo, maybe even coming back for the King George after this race. 4yo have a good record in the Hardwicke. Will be very interested when prices are up.

  2. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread She got 10 days for mistaking the furlong marker for the winning post.:rollin Both are laughable...She is a 7lb claimer, granted they make mistakes, but that is an almighty one. Good job she was not in India. The stewards, should have refered it, then she may have been told to go back to school, before being allowed in a race again. Feel sorry for those who backed it,,,would have won by 10.

  3. Re: Flat Racing - 10th of May

Im gonna put one up....as im shocked no one has spotted it! LINGFIELD TURF TODAY FAST GROUND!...massive advantage for speed horses drawn high...... FW at 11/4 is overpriced, will be up with the pace or very close to leading, banged back to form last time, david evans sends 1...HELLO!,,,horse is as fit as a flea. Point and shoot, given its a female race, if you aint up with the pace and close to that rail you aint winning! FW has made all in the past! One backstop....GREYFRIARS...is also overpriced for the ew 25/1...usually blasts out,,,and drawn 1 off the rail....yes I know he dont score on turf, but has run well off this mark to be placed...he will give it a go from this stall...worth a cover e/w...and maybe a FC.... Keep an eye on the other turf races for the advantage...which is bigger than chester IMO!
Cover ew ended up 10/12nd....FW ran no sort of race after being cramped out of it,

  7. Re: The Jockey Thread

Paul Hanagan's been getting a bit of stick on twitter for his rides at Chester this week. He retweeted one comment which compared to a 7 pound claimer. No doubt some idiot pocket talking.
Still rode a decent one in the last on the 1st day....
  8. Re: Napsters Take for instance today. over 50 races......................and you work for a rag that you have to get a selection in each race. :wall As someone said, do you really think they are putting their own money down, No! is the answer... they are just looking to get a better seat on the gravy train!:ok

  9. Re: Key Races~ CHESTER CUP 8th May

Chester Cup - Wednesday - based on g/Firm going though!! Age In the last 15 years, four 4yo's, two 5yo's, six 6yo's three 7yo's have won the race showing its an open race to all ages. 2 of the 4yo's have gone onto win it again in thier career. Weight A wide range of weights from 8st 1lb to 9st 13lb. 9st 2lb or under have won 12 from 15. No jockey with a claim has won it in the last 12 years. Draw Single figure draws have won 10 from last 15, however Greenwich Meantime was drawn 16 of 17 in 07 & Bulwark 11 of 17 in 08 and ile de re 13 of 16 last year. SP Favs have won 3 of last 13 , 9/2-16/1 or under seems to be the limit as 13 of last 15 have won within that range. Form The last 15 winners were either making their debut or had had 1 run that season. In fact the split of those was 9 (debut) and 6 (1 run). 6 of these winners had ran in the Chester cup before with 3 of them 3rd or better in previous year.Dont be put off by horses making their 1st visit to the track Distance 11 of the last 15 had won previously over 16f or further, the other 4 having won over 10f, 12f, 13f & 14f. Class 12 of the last 15 winners had won a class 3 handicap or better. LAst 3 years winners were dual campaigners over hurdles and flat. Summary No over 7's this year Next we take out those who have had more than 1 run this season to date which removes Buckland (1) Remove horses ridden by apprentices - Investissment, Ingleby spirit, Kiama bay (3) The class wins & distance wins takes out Theology, Suraj, Justification, Good morning star (4) Lets look at the weight, draw and course form of those left: Simenon - drawn 14 won at R Ascot twice last year, debut on track Thimaar - drawn 6, 5yo, debut on track, highest OR win 89 Ile de re - last years winner, draw 16, 12lb higher, prefers a bit of cut Tominator - draw 11, 3rd in cesarewitch and won here in september, now switched to Jonjo for hurdling Softsong - draw 19, mainly race on soft Address unknown - 12th in this last year, won at ascot off 94, draw 2 Olympiad draw 17 won at York last year very good day draw 13 debut on track won at york last year Countrywide flame, drawn 4, won here last year and 2nd in cesarewitch, 10 on the shortlist, we should look at the draw as i still believe low numbers should be favoured even over this trip. Also course form should be taken into consideration so the following for me: Address unknown 10pts win @ 16/1 Betvictor Countrywide flame 10pts win @ 4/1 Betvictor

  10. Re: Maiden help 1. Price is no Guarantee, Look at Mark Johnstone, how many time has he paid 6 figure sums for horses that barely reach 75 or in their lives. 2. A field full of Maidens, Normally I would watch, however, If the Gallop reports have been consistently been flagging 1 up....like FRANKEL was, it may be worth following. Stats of trainers FTO are normally a good starting point. J Bolger R hannon, have good records, these yards tend to want to know were they stand instantley. However take L Cumani, christmas comes more often than FTO winners. 3. Betfair, late money in maidens is crucial, if you fancy one, the opposite can be said for a drifter, the Market is a very good guide, You would struggle to get the tissue correct in maidens. 4. There is no guarantee that all off spring from G1 winners become black type, however the hope by breeders is the majority will, Jim Bolger, was never confident when Dawn Approach first turned up, as the previous siblings, half brothers sisters turned out to be average at best, but DA was the 4th or 5th, and BINGO! 5. Pivotal/ Kyllachy sprinters... Pivotal, grand dam/grand sire full of mile n middle distance form, so whilst they think they will have a sprinter, genes can be passed thru, on the staying side. And if a trainer only trains a horse as a sprinter, it does not mean it cant stay, most dont even try....RED RUM a classic example. 6. Mars, is from a yard were the majority of unraced 2yo, with loads of entries will be backed ...blind...Hydrogen has always be touted by gallop watchers since early spring, but the trainer always talks one up. Just be careful, my advice see them on the track first then make your mind up.

  11. Re: Key Races~ CHESTER CUP 8th May The odd shower is not out of the question, However Good ground should be the call, with Good to Firm around the place. The rail is set on the inside all the way round today. Very significant in the last 1 1/2 furlongs. Two things to be aware of for tomorrow n friday, The rain is really set to come in after a dry overnight and morning. Plus they will move the rail tomorrow,

  12. Re: Key Races~ CHESTER CUP 8th May How they wish the race was run today. My Advice. Its Good/Firm watered ground, Of all the courses in the country, it dont take much rain to go to soft here, due to the soil. From about 9pm tonight various outbreaks of rain, right through to Thursday. It will be soft/heavy by Thursday, that is for sure, but come 2.45pm on Wednesday,,,,all i'll say is it definately wont be Good/Firm. The ground will be key here, so hold your money until you know.

  13. Re: The Jockey Thread

Primevil. You will go much further in life with an ounce of grace than a truckload of judgement fella.
How things are lost in the written word. If you did not see this was tounge in cheek, You really should take a chill pill, Sir!
  14. Re: Guineas

Think overall' date=' we can count it as PL 2-0 Paid Pundits in the Classics so far. Never saw the race, but hearing strong things from a few sources that Moth is a serious Oaks prospect on the back of the run. Fair assessment?[/quote'] NO, 7/2 is a stupid price. JTJ 6/1.....??????????????????????????
  15. Re: Guineas All over the Cheltenham posts.....people were. you don't see people that actually win a nice bet come on and start giving it large. Im of the opinion, that when you get a AP up for a big race, why not? And by the way, I had Sky lantern and Certify for the 1000, before the trial, I have 5/1 Hot Snap after the trial. Money back on Certify. I have Sky lantern at 10/1, so didnt get that right, but beleive, HOT SNAP, should be shorter....Its only my opinion of course, and had my few pennys e/w on her to back that up.
