  1. Re: BBOTD > Tuesday 21st May 5.30 Newcastle WELL PAINTED....5/2 WH but a few more. I have the gelding at almost listed class, however last time can be forgot. It may have been a sighter for a RA handicap but today on soft at 7F will be ideal. If he wins today will go up to 95-96, and that gets him in at RA. Should be a good day for Graham Lee, hopefully this should be the icing on the cake. I don't normally do multiples, but his rides today encourage the bet. But a win on the selection will do for me.

  2. Re: 2013 Epsom Derby I'll say it now, I have Dawn Approach so far ahead of this very average lot it will take a lightning bolt to stop him. Telescope will need just that to see him, racecourse gallop.......my a!!e.. And if you did not have your fill of AOB last Saturday...talking horses up... DA wins this Derby....end of....Distance of at least 5 will be second. Classic winners have little problem with Epsom......FACT. This is my last on this subject.

  3. Re: The Jockey Thread

Great to see very competent jockey Dane O'Neil ride 4 winners at Newmarket' date=' great to see him get some recognition of his abilities by landing the Hamdan job.[/quote'] 5 rides today,,,a few pennys on a lucky 63, may be worth an interest....all around the 10/1 apart from the last 1. Im having a go.:D
  4. Re: 2013 Epsom Oaks

Libre N currently 3/1 is she a big lay for Epsom?
Put it this way,,,i think its ground dependedent...if its to fast, they wont take a chance with her. She is good, but the more time she gets, she could be very top draw in the filly dept. And do they want to spoil her attitude by not enjoying her racing, if Epsom is going to make her sour?
  5. Re: BBOTD > Saturday 18th May 3.50 Newbury FARHH 9/2 betfred william hill The Lockinge is usually a top G1, however today we have a G2 in operation...Not many of these are capable of winning a G1, most are G2-G3 class. The selection will never have a better opportunity to add a G1 to his cv, before he hits stud. Connections have tried for the last 5 on the bounce, and he has run into Frankel(2), Nathanial, Moonlight Cloud...all finishing 2nd, and So you think 3rd...what price any of them here. If they have him fit, he wins this easily for me. 9/2 ew betfred 1/4 odds is a cast iron no lose bet for me, but I will be backing him to win.

  7. Re: Flat Racing ~ Friday 17th May

2.45 York. Top Trip. 3/1. He will be still on the bridle when plenty are off it, come there cantering for me, so long as the jockey dont balls it up, he should win on the steel, far better than 113 IMO. at least 118. 3/1 is a top price. all 7/2 now gone, can see him going off at 7/4.:D
1/6 IR, beaten by the width of a cigarette paper...:cry

  9. Re: BBOTD - Friday 17th May 1.45 YORK Majestic Alexander 13/2 365 and several others. By first season sire Bushranger, You would expect the ground to be no problem to this filly, and altho Wolves was her first run and win, it was very impressive, showing little signs of greeness. Looking at todays race there is going to be some pace on here, and it is very very difficult to make all at york over 5f, as they tend to go a little too quick early on. Thats were the selection should come into her own, picking off the speedsters late on, she is an early season filly, so imo, be a little further ahead. And 6f will be her next move. I do believe that the filly may be something special, moving on to RA. 13/2 is a huge price for me, I have her in at 7/2.

  10. Re: 2013 Epsom Oaks Libre N for me wont go there, They would like to, Im sure, However, She looks like a true galloper, and the Ribblesdale makes sense, G2, galloping track, then if she was good enough, 5 weeks later to the Curragh, for the oaks.

  11. Re: 2013 Epsom Oaks As no one has put anything here... Ill put the following are a disgrace, BET365 STANJAMES BETVICTOR or pricing up the following in the OAKS... ALIVE ALIVE OH....& SKY LANTERN 10/1 for both. Either one have NO chance of turning up for the Epsom Oaks,,,Every penny counts, but this is plain thievery if they take a bet for any of these. Disgrace.

  12. Re: 2013 Epsom Derby

The home challenge in the Derby is fast becoming a joke. If Aiden O'Brien wasn't around the Derby would be utter rubbish. He currently has 6 of the top 11 in the betting' date=' which would have been much more had all his horses been fit. Nobody can live with them and why the hell can't Godolphin produce more Derby contenders (Dawn Approach doesn't count!)[/quote'] This is because Coolmore and Dubai, were not good neighbours, thru the 90's and 00's... They dont have a 12-14f G1 sire that consistantly produces results..how they would love that... Just one of the many spats they had,,,below.. After the QE2 2006 race. Dettori went to the stewards, the arbiters of fair play, and claimed that Seamus Heffernan, who was riding Ballydoyle's second-string horse, Ivan Denisovich, had deliberately impeded his mount — apparently to help George Washington win. The stewards, to the surprise of many in the racing world, backed Dettori and found Heffernan guilty of "team tactics". They suspended him from riding for 14 days. Heffernan is appealing against the ruling. But that was not the end of the matter. Aidan O'Brien, the master of Ballydoyle and normally the most reticent of trainers, was clearly incensed that Mr Magnier's operation had been accused of cheating. On Sunday, he rounded on Dettori. "Frankie threw the toys out of the pram like a spoilt child," he said. Mr O'Brien also let slip that he had been told that Dettori was no longer available to ride for Coolmore: usually, jockeys are free to ride for anyone else, if their own stable does not have a runner in a race. Indeed, in September last year, Dettori rode Scorpion — trained by Mr O'Brien and bred by Coolmore — in the St Leger, one of the five "Classic" races of the British season, when its stable jockey was unavailable. Scorpion won and Dettori celebrated enthusiastically. However, Sheikh Mohammed was less than delighted to see his retained jockey so joyous in Coolmore's navy-blue colours — rather than Godolphin's royal-blue silks — and there were repercussions. "After Frankie won the St Leger for us on Scorpion last year, we tried to book him for another horse of ours," said Mr O'Brien, last weekend. "We were told that Frankie was not allowed to ride for us any more. What is anyone to make of that?" Most in the racing world interpret the disclosure as a sign of the increasingly acrimonious relationship between racing's two superpowers. But how has it come to this? Why are Sheikh Mohammed and Mr Magnier, both renowned for their generosity and sense of fair play, at loggerheads? Insiders say that the main battle between the rival sides has been fought not on the racetrack but off it. Both are competing for the title of the world's most successful breeder, which brings with it far greater riches than the millions of pounds that can be won in big-race prize money. A single successful stallion can make tens of millions of pounds a year for its owner after it has retired. And there is no doubt that the most successful breeding operation today is run by Coolmore, whose worldwide achievements dwarf those of Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stud. Last year, Sheikh Mohammed decreed that Godolphin would no longer breed with or buy progeny from Coolmore stallions — apparently in retaliation for the lack of support from Coolmore, who rarely bought horses from Sheikh Mohammed's stud. Friction has also been caused by Coolmore's reluctance to participate in the Dubai World Cup, which Sheikh Mohammed has promoted vigorously for the past decade. Godolphin wants Mr Magnier and his horses to go to the oil-rich emirate, but the Irish have concluded that the event does not fit into their horses' training schedule. Spokesmen for Coolmore and Godolphin refused to comment on the rivalry this weekend. But Mr Magnier and Sheikh Mohammed are two forceful characters, who are used to getting their own way. At present, according to one racing insider, there is "a complete stand-off between them", the former is the shy son of a cattle breeder and a self-made, thoughtful, family-oriented man, the latter a more impulsive statesman, sportsman and poet, born into one of the world's richest families. Mr Magnier is one of the few men to have successfully stood up to Sir Alex Ferguson, the formidable Manchester United boss, when they had a bitter dispute, three years ago, over the stud rights to a top horse, Rock of Gibraltar. According to a senior racing figure: "This dispute is essentially about two operations trying to build bloodstock empires. The Godolphin operation has spent huge amounts of money, has put Dubai on the racing map, has won lots of races but it has not built a comparable breeding operation [to Coolmore], almost, given its resources, to a laughable extent. By not buying Coolmore's progeny, Godolphin is cutting off its nose to spite its face." A source close to Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock operations said: "I think the Sheikh feels there has been a significant transfer of resources from the Maktoum family to Tipperary but that there has been zero reciprocation. With the traffic being only one way, the Sheikh felt he was being taken for a ride."
  13. Re: Flat Racing - Thursday 16th May 5.55 Newmarket Laconicos 33/1 ew stanjames The old boy always runs his heart out on his local track, and with RT on board taking off 5, will no doubt run a big race again, ew at 33/1 worth a dabble. There are no super stars here, won off 57 only a few months ago, and with this good kid in the saddle he may pull it out.

  14. Re: Flat Racing - Thursday 16th May

Indian Chief....Dante stakes. 3/1 Coral. Given what is happening in the Derby Betting, Im assuming this one is going to Epsom, and they think something may a bit above average here. Yes we know what he has done, but im all over this today, and gone BD. We may be looking at a classy individual turning up today, 3/1 may look very big in a few hours time.:D
Went to 4/6 IR....was the ground to lively, would be on him with plenty in the ground next time, still green i thought, running away from the whip...
  15. Re: 2013 Epsom Derby Nothing in the DANTE to worry about.................................. Dawn Approach now 5/4....Cast iron now for me. One Foot note....Kieron Fallon pre race "Greatwood has a great chance, in a very open Derby", Is that the pitmans derby kieron? One sad note.....The banned trainer Karl Burke, getting airtime on CH4....Cheats in racing,,,carrying on like nothing happened....what next Miles Rodgers making an appearance?

  16. Re: Flat Racing - Thursday 16th May
