Boisson is talented, but you obviously can't back her at the low odds, you can either back Cornet or not bet at all. Unlike the players Cornet has played so far in this tournament, Boisson has beaten good players in the tricky conditions, so I prefer staying away.

Why didn't you post your opinion before the match? Why wait until the result was in before gobbing off?
He was commenting on his own pick, so no issues there haha!

Mayar Sherif (+1.5 sets) to beat Emma Navarro at 1.98 with Unibet
The tournament conditions are tough this week in both Saint Malo and Lleida, and I've liked Sherif's grit so far. Navarro has a much higher ceiling than her, but she can sometimes go walkabouts when things aren't going her way, and Sherif knows how to help that, plus she leads the H2H 2-0, so she should be confident of getting a result. I like the set handicap here.

What an effort from Putintseva lol.
Alize Cornet to beat Fiona Ferro at 2.23 with Unibet
Cornet is into her last few tournaments now, and, back on her own soil and on a lower level than usual, I think she can muster some strength and get a couple of wins. I saw Ferro against Davis and it was a very messy match, with both players struggling with the conditions. I see this as a 50/50 coin-flip, perhaps Cornet being a very slight fav.

Elena Rybakina to win WTA Madrid 2024 at 4.50 with Bet365
I've seen quite a few matches in Madrid, and I think that Rybakina has been the best player so far. Looking very comfortable out there, has all the momentum in the world, and she beat Swiatek last time out as well. At 4.50, I'm happy to take the punt, especially with Sabalenka and Collins facing each other in this round.

Sorana Cirstea (+7.5) to beat Iga Swiatek at 1.62 with Bet365
Not a big fan of Swiatek at the moment, she seems bored by these matches, and she took her foot off the pedal big time yesterday in the second set, allowing Xiyu Wang to get a decent scoreline in the end. Cirstea could do even better.

Roberto Carballes Baena to beat Dominik Koepfer at 1.57 with Bet365
RCB has been very fine so far this season, not excellent, but playing on a top 50 level, and playing in Spain always brings the best out of him. Koepfer is 0-3 on clay and I haven't been impressed by him lately.

Varvara Gracheva to beat Lucia Bronzetti at 1.91 with Bet365
I've seen Gracheva's last three matches, and I think she has every chance of winning this one. She looked good even in her defeat against Yuan, and Bronzetti hasn't played for more than a month now.

Sachia Vickery to beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro at 2.51 with Pinnacle
I was tempted to go for Vickery yesterday as well, and she seems to be still underrated on clay. She's made quite some progress this year, though, and I liked her both yesterday and in Stuttgart. The odds should be way closer.

Sara Errani to beat Julia Riera at 2.00 with William Hill
Errani isn't necessarily the better player of the two, but Riera played the finals in Chiasso yesterday, and playing against Errani after not having much rest and traveling is hardly ideal.

Excellent analysis guys! Swiatek is definitely overhyped against players that can hit big - not many out there, and she tends to have an incredibly easy time against the rest, but it's always worth considering going against her in those specific cases.

Yeah, I'm not that keen on her today, although I'm not sure why the odds have moved *so much* against her.

Kristina Mladenovic to beat Varvara Lepchenko at 2.50 with Bet365
I'd be quite surprised not to see these odds drop come morning. Mladenovic has finally got a couple of results together, and she looked well above her struggles against Sebov. I didn't see her against Jones, but it's a big win on paper, and I don't see where this favoritism for Lepchenko is coming from.

Linda Noskova to beat Emma Raducanu at 1.50 with Bet365
Well, if Noskova plays like she did against Ostapenko, Raducanu will have nothing to hurt her with. Kotyza seems to be having a tremendous effect on the Czech, her R1 performance was like a flashback to Kvitova's best times for me. Let's hope it continues!

Jelena Ostapenko to beat Linda Noskova at 1.80 with Bet365
Ostapenko had a rough time in the BJK Cup, but I think she should be able to bounce back here more often than not. The conditions should be to her liking, more than to Noskova's at least, and we're getting a solid premium thanks to those recent struggles.

Diana Shnaider to beat Paula Badosa at 2.08 with Unibet
Badosa is still priced well due to her name, but her results and fitness have been very poor recently, so I'll happily take the steadily-rising Shnaider here at odds against. The fact that she's already played a couple of matches in Stuttgart can only help.

Magdalena Frech to beat Celine Naef at 2.14 with Unibet
I don't really trust either all that much at the moment, but Naef as the favourite? She's been pretty average to poor lately, and she's yet to pass Frech in terms of quality.
-
Hubert Hurkacz to beat Casper Ruud at 2.75 with Bet365
Ruud is a bit overhyped at the moment, yet he still lost to Martinez of all people. This should have a nice chance at such odds.

Alex de Minaur (-3.5) to beat Stan Wawrinka at 2.00 with Bet365
Wawrinka is hardly the force he once was nowadays, while de Minaur is a legit top 15 player that can play well on any surface. This should be a lot about endurance, and Wawrinka just doesn't have that anymore I'm afraid.
