In Play Race Reader reacted to Aarz in RACING CHAT SATURDAY 11th NOVEMBER
Hi all, I am brand new (10 mins ago!) to this forum and only been watching racing for 2 years now but I love it and I love reading all of your write ups, I admire the knowledge and passion!
I was watching the racing at Newcastle on sky yesterday while "Working from home" 🤣 and just wanted to note what I thought would a big factor and may sway some decisions... draws from the middle to high were running really well, some at good prices. So middle to stand side. I just got Sir Maxi in the first with this in mind. There's my 2 pence! Good luck to you all with your selections today! Ching ching!

In Play Race Reader reacted to MCLARKE in ANNUAL COMPETITION 2023
A poor month for @Craig bluenose sees his lead drop to 55 points with @daisychain moving into second after winning the monthly competition.
3 players with over 100 points profit, very impressive.

I find it highly unlikely but if he does land the tricast I think we owe him an apology

In Play Race Reader reacted to Sporting Sam in Hugh Taylor Selections
Good shout from Hugh which I initially doubted and wondered why he’d chosen the lucky last.
on closer inspection Tiger Beetle was dropping back in class here.
I last backed this runner (as I said) last December when he got up to win at a big price. (33/1.) . That was a class five and in that race he beat recent two time winner master of combat.
I backed MOC just a few nights ago and Hugh tipped him in his previous win. Tiger Beetle was lightly raced with latest runs in June, July and August. Prince Ali made limited appeal but was the draw data horse. Using the adjusted system which factors in a draw anomily he was a strong fancy to be in the mix. caramay was prominent in tonight’s race but ultimately not in the mix at the business end. Missing the break helps if the pace is poor and cavelluchio rallied late on to be third. Highly significant in the final analysis is the physics of the the draw as all three horses of the first three home were drawn and weighted together in stall 9,8 and 7. That was the forecast of over £15 and a small each way return and a nice win return on Tiger Beetle.
I’m glad I took the time to thrash out the race and reconsider my initial assessment.
not only were the first three home drawn together but they were three of the four top weights meaning they were in a handicap cluster. I’m more than happy to freely offer up this information eventually it will lead to a tricast. My forecasts and ultimately my forthcoming tricasts come from close analysis of previous outcomes to identify physics trends. Most likely my first tricast will be landed tomorrow.

In Play Race Reader reacted to harry_rag in Whether forecasts...
It’s not irrelevant because it means that in the vast majority of races every forecast price will be way less than the true odds for that pair of horses to finish first and second. I’ll accept that it’s not necessarily unbeatable but it’s like setting the bar really low for a limbo dance or really high for a pole vault. Most people aren’t going to be able to get over/under it. Let’s agree it’s a bet for specialists who know what they’re doing. You’ve got to have the right sort of edge to begin with if you’re going to give it a go.
Obviously I’d have no chance even allowing for my spectacular form in the “bit of fun” comps! My edges lie elsewhere. But as I don’t get enough chance to talk technical on my specialist subjects I end up forcing my way in here as a guest lecturer on the mechanics of various racing bets! What do we fancy covering next?

You’ve said it is easy and anyone can do it “so go ahead and now show the forum how it is done.
43 winners in 11 days.
41 winners in 10 days.
However, a loss of 91 points at SP.
A much smaller loss at BSP of 28 points. BSP was better on 38 occasions. This shows that it is foolish to bet at SP.

I thought notable ran a really good race for the grade lto from what was a relatively poor draw so in my eyes it upgrades his performance so the 7/1 Ew looks a value bet tonight so I'm drawn to play
5pt Ew notable 7/1

Nothing like a good purge!
You don't need to justify yourself. Cheap shots are easy, e.g.
"Still harping on about number of winners but running scared of accounting for profit or loss"
"Posting so close to the off (with multiple edits) so as to be of no use to the vast majority of people"
"Pointlessly listing runners that finished second"
I'm not saying those are fair criticisms though they all have some basis in fact. But they're no less valid than a snide observation about system selections being put up early constituting a "wish list".
