The Equaliser got a reaction from The Brigadier in RACING CHAT - Tuesday 15th December
Out of all the three afternoon meetings today and considering favourites selections at evens and above I think that the best bet of the day is Airgead Suas. This horse is in great form and although up 7lbs this is negated by the 7lbs claim made by the excellent rider Cillin Leonard. It has ran very well in the past on soft ground so I can see no reason why a repeat performance of last month's C&D win shouldn't be on the cards. I have placed £7.10 win at 2.64 on Betfair Exchange with a possible profit of £11.41
Well. when all looks perfect we have to accept disappointment; that in essence is horseracing
I have chosen another beast at Wolverhampton in order to try and recoup losses. This is River Chorus in the 5.40. It has 10.5 points instead of 10 and at least this time the race is a non handicap. I have placed a £7.10 win at 2.54 = £10.72 profit should it oblige
Together we can be profitable in the long run. Just hang on in there.
========================================================================================================
Obviously the pundits got it wrong with River Chorus today and the market guessed right with Lady Percival though my horse was favourite. Very disappointing with Airgead Suas, it only had to repeat what it did last time. Although River Chorus got beat I am going to focus on non-handicap racing from tomorrow. Hopefully by keep tweaking my selection method I will improve to profitability.
A bit of a pity that after getting back to break even today's results have put me back into deficit. A £14.20 loss now leaves a balance of £486.41 (Bank £500)
Four meetings tomorrow, 2 all weather and 2 over the jumps. Should take me less time if I cut out handicaps ?

Not many short priced favourites around or above even money that inspire great confidence today.
I have bitten the bullet and placed £8.30 to win on Culture (Tom Marquand rides) in the 7.05 at Kempton at 6/5 with a possible return of £18.26
I did come accross a few runners that look to have a good chance so I have had a bet on these as well.
2.23 Plum Legal OK £3.20 win at 9/2
5.00 Km Decadent (Tom Marquand again) £2.30 win 11/2 = poss return of £14.65. Dubai Tigress is joint top rated but the track and trip are different to its best form)
6.00 Km Prize Fighting (Adam Kirby) £3.20 win at 4/1
Total win bets = £17.00 today.
Good luck to all punting today

The Equaliser got a reaction from Wildgarden in Racing Chat - Sunday 13th December
I have looked at 10 short priced favourites running today and have come up with the one I feel the best value
1.55 Sou Mocacreme Has . It is trading at between 5/4 & 11/8. It does have to beat the Skelton horse The Hoax as a significant danger though. The price is a bit skinny so I have set up an in-running bet for £7.10 at 2.74 (um at 2.5). Of course if the horse trips at the first fence or loses then I will lose my £7.10. If it shortens up the whole way through the race my price won't get matched if it wins. This is a chance I am happy to take as opposed to accepting a short price I don't like.
If this one fails I will have a recovery stake on Arabescato in the 2.50 at Lin, currently trading at around 7/2
Out of the 10 I looked at there is 12.20 Ecossais 3.25 Up 8lbs and no superstar. 12.10 Lin Vanitas been beaten into 2nd place the last 3 times. 3.10 Carl Hollymount 2.86 un raced. 1.25 Sou Bennie Boy around 3.0 with lots of potentially unknown live dangers and 3.00 Sou Rocheston around 6/4 who has to beat a real danger in the form of Ocean Drfiter who is favourite at around 5/4
===========================================================
Got beaten by the in form Kim Bailey/David Bass team. Well done to them
I have now staked £4.20 at 3/1 on Arabescato in the 2.50 at Ling poss return £16.80

The Equaliser reacted to Bathtime For Rupert in Racing Chat - Saturday 12th December
All prices Bet365:
12.20 Doncaster - 3pts win Defi Sacre @ 4/1
Very consistent type who was well in contention when coming to grief last time and also ran well on seasonal reappearance. The form of his two efforts that rounded off last season read very well now to suggest this mark isn't beyond him and I think he wins this with a clear round.
1.15 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Born Survivor @ 14/1
I thought a few of these were potentially handicapped to the hilt and Born Survivor has had excuses on quite a lot of his chasing starts - bled from the nose last time out, has run after absences a couple of times and a lot of his novice runs have come in top company. I think two miles might be his best trip in competitive races and looks quite a handy price considering he ran as well as could be expected in the circumstances here last time.
1.50 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Coole Cody @ 11/1
Usually when I get a win out of a horse I'll look elsewhere the next time but I do think Coole Cody will run well again. Was an almighty performance last time considering he slipped early on and went such a good gallop. Looked vulnerable but pulled away again at the finish and a 6lb rise doesn't look insurmountable. He's straightforward, jumps well and stays this trip all day so I think he's got a good each way chance again off a nice riding weight.
3.00 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Stormy Ireland @ 20/1
This looks wide open with Goshen the potential superstar but he hasn't been brilliant in two flat runs since the Cheltenham festival so will go for one at a big price. Stormy Ireland is at her best when cracking on with it over two miles over hurdles I think and has beaten some nice types quite easily in the past. Stays this trip well and can just crack on from the front I suspect. Ran okay over fences the last twice but can be quite careful at her fences which cost her the race at Bangor despite rallying well up the run-in and I think back to hurdles she could go well for a very long way at a big price.
3.15 Doncaster - 2pts win Singlefarmpayment @ 5/1
Travelled like a dream on seasonal reappearance at Sandown and whilst isn't the easiest to win with, should strip fitter now and is just edging down the weights. Made an error at 2 out and faded thereafter but he's clearly in good heart and if the cards drop right I think he can land this.

Just one win bet so far today
12.05 Chelt Adagio £7.10 win at 11/8 with Bet365 = poss return of £16.86
This one appears to be best out of Chantry House (too short a price) 12.40, Ashtown Lad 2.25 (nothing wrong but has strong competition), Goshen 3.00 (ran badly on the flat, though we all want it to win for Jamie Moore), Ofalltheginjoints 2.05 Don (Up in class) and Kapga De Lily 1.22 Her (up 9lbs)
Will see how Adagio goes; if it loses I may have a bet on Ashtown Lad. Will keep you posted.
