@Trotter Bad luck today. Maybe it's time to get back to your cross doubles or at least split your stakes between the two methods. Just a thought. I hate to see you lose

Firstly thank you to Billyhills for all the hard work running the competition. You are to blame for me even bothering to enter this competition. I was a bit of a gambler before joining this site. I like to think I have learnt from reading a lot of the various posts. I don’t do methods or ratings, I would not have the time or patience. There are so many really good people on here, read and analyse and anything is possible. I have really enjoyed this week before today!
1st winner was down to Cable Guy ( Owners Group horse I have a hair on - Billy your fault again) just joined Charlie Fellows this week, dropping in trip, had to have him. Now how did I pick a 150-1 winner! I just watched his first race back last night and thought he was a bit unlucky, got knocked about a bit by other horses, got tired possibly and given a good ride by the jockey, who was back on today. He was not meant to be 150-1, I think he was about 50-1 last night.
Apologies Rupert, I enjoy reading your posts and I have pinched a couple of winners off you this week along side those selected by Richard-Westwood who never fails to find value.
I suppose I will have to get ready for Goodwood now! I might even have to post myself now but be warned I’m no expert.
Once more thanks to everyone who took part and who contributes to this site.
Very well done on your success; I hope that you profited well from your effort.
I always worry when I learn that people are or hopefully have been a "gambler".
It's all about discipline. One has to control and manage one's money in this sphere.
I am not without sin. I hate losing. I still can risk more than I should by executing "Lay" bets to get out of trouble.Let's hope that you continue to manage your finances by keeping in touch with this wonderful and very friendly web site

Selected the best class races today with 12 or under number of runners
12.45 Red Wonderwork £2 win at 7/2 (I prefer this to Richard Fahey's runner)
3.25 Km Desert Peace 5/2 £2 win at 7/2 (David Simcock has no winners in the last 14 days so I'll go with Charlie Appleby's charge)

My only winner today was Alpine Star which was returned at 9/2 which meant that I didn't lose anything on the day
My Multiples balance is now £606.48 (£800 Bank)
My Singles balance is now £361.65 (£400 Bank)
I'm getting a bit cheesed off in selecting the wrong short priced beast for my multiples. But as someone once said "the dictionary is the only place where Success comes before Work

I'm thinking of tweaking this as I guess it's unlikely to make long term profits if you're making 20 selections a day, but the problem is how to limit it
I could stick to one selection per race but then I'd have probably missed today's biggest winner
I could limit it by race class or distance ..... just to have fewer races
Or I could limit it to races where my selection criteria just throws up one or two runners ... a regular problem being that it throws up 5 in a race then I have to use subjective criteria to narrow it down further which negates it being a 'system'
I'll ponder on this !
Well done for all your hard work; I'm sure that you will tweak the system favourably

Not exactly a 150/1 stunner but a 40/1 Wiinner not to be sniffed at.
That 150/1 bring backs memories of the 100/1 thread we use to have & the 25/1+ winners thread we had. they were fantastic ....oh the good old days!
Well done. Hey Jonesy a thrilling winner.
With over 8,000 posts I guess you should feel free to upgrade your status from Newbie Punter

Only one winner today for all my efforts which was Peace Prevails at 9/2. Very disappointing day.
Single bets incurred a £7.25 loss which means a C/Fwd balance of £357.65 (£400 Bank)
Only one winner in the multiples so a £4 loss = A C/Fwd balance of £610.48 (£800 Bank)
It isn't that I can't pick winners it is just that I am constantly being misled by the main sporting press (PL tips excluded of course)

Wow what a run from Stradivarius; that's how an odds on favourite should win
Two winners today and I thought I was in with a shout for a Trixie until Geetanjali ran a stinker of a race. Still, it was raining hard so who could blame the horse for not wanting to run its race. Sootability did run well for me but didn't win.
The single bets yielded a net profit of £4 so the C/Fwd balance is £364.90 from a £400 Bank
The Multiples yielded a double for £12.19 therefore £8.19 profit. Balance C/Fwd £614.48 (£800 Bank)

I don't like the look of Royal Ascot today. Too many short priced favourites and some times too many runners.

I think I'd wait until I was making a decent profit before making such bold claims !
Haha, you know how I can't help myself when I get very enthusiastic over something. Of course you are correct but I am full of confidence. In any event what I mean is if my selection(s) method does prove unsuccessful and unprofitable then once and for all I will prove that nothing can be gained by following published information by the Sporting Press.
I am setting on a path of a very interesting journey. If I am successful, everyone will want to follow my approach.
I hope that you are keeping well and good to have you back

For the second time this week I have missed out on a Trixie; £136 this time. I guess I should have gone with Mark Johnstone in the 3.55 Km; we live and learn.
Two single winners today one at 7/2 one at 4/1 for £2 stakes = £19 return less outlay £9.25 = £9.75 profit. Balance C/Fwd £371.40 (Bank £400)
One double from my Trixie at 3/1 & 4/1 = £20 return less £4 = £16 profit. Balance C/Fwd £622.48 (Bank £800)
