To be honest I do back most horses moore as at plumpton and twenty twenty is a horse I have done a few times 

Also VARIYANN in the 1.40 at Southwell is a good bet at 5/2, the edge is 9%.

Another good race today to take advantage of the BOYLESPORTS free bet if 2nd to favourite offer.
In the 1.05 at Southwell the 1st 2 in the betting are 8/11 and 6/4 with the rest at 16/1 or above.
I calculate the chance of the 2nd favourite (MOONBOOTZ) winning is 34% and the chance if it being 2nd to the favourite at 37%. The edge on the bet is 15%.

I believe that in February the criteria was reduced to 14 days to account for the fewer days in the month.
I'm not really precious about this rule, if players have a strong opinion one way or another then please let me know and I will set the rules based on what the majority want, after all I am from the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire !

Another winning treble today that's the third in the last six days! Well done to TumbleweedKing whose selections all obliged at Wolverhampton tonight for a profit of £211 (to a £20 stake). The trebles are showing a profit of £401.45 over the past 6 days.
Also overall since November 21st when racing tips (can be found at top left of page) we've burst through the 2k mark and are showing a very healthy profit of £2100.12

That's a hard one isn't it? I like to put the tips out as soon as the first firm is up (normally Bet365) so all I can suggest is just keep checking back and take the best price at the time.I know how annoying it is when you have to take shorter a horse that's been bigger but invariably they'll shorten up even more.

I'll have a go at the veterans chase form a trends perspective.
Only 5 years data to look at.
34 horses have run after a break of 34 days or more and all have lost. This reduces the field to 11.
23 horses finished worse than 6 last time out. All lost. This reduces the field to 6.
Not much else stands out although 3 out of the 5 winners have had forecast odds between 16/1 and 20/1 and this leaves just 1, FINGERONTHESWITCH.

True. Backing a 1/3 fav equates to getting a 8/1 horse placed. I think opinion would be divided as to which is easier. Plus there is a minimum profit of 10 points, needed to qualify for prizes, thereby negating the argument IMHO.
One thing I would like to add, as a relatively new member. I love this site. The competitions are FREE TO ENTER!! MClarke and all the other mods do a sterling job in organising these things. I think there are far more important things to moan and complain about than whether its 15 or 13 or this or that.

I agree that it easier to find a placed horse in an eight horse race, however to find one that produces a profit is not as easy, the odds have to be at least 11/2.
It is easier to make a profit backing short odds horses to win.

@BARNSLEYCHOP finds a 16/1 winner on the final day to grab the title from @Saddlesore, who finishes 2nd again.
@Zidane123, who had been leading for most of the last week, claims 3rd prize with @adamross holding on for 4th place.
@jcw wins the most winners prize with 16 winners from 23 selections.
