Re: Smash and grab. Yankeedoodledandy - 12.20 - Cheltenham Gave great service on Flat (rated 80 on grass) and trainer has always rated him as a hurdler; unbeaten in new career after contrasting wins at Sandown (trotted up from subsequent winner Verasi) and (narrow but gritty) win at Huntingdon; pick on pure hurdles form and entitled to a deal of respect.WIN Search And Destroy in the 2.20 at Doncaster Goes well fresh so absence since June not a concern and in-form stable won this last year; commands respect over trip that suitsE/W

Re: Smash and grab. Semi Precious - 2.50 - Plumpton NAP Unwise to go overboard about his defeat of modest opposition in a novice handicap at Hereford, though he did impress with his jumping for a chasing debutant over a trip quite possibly short of his best; raised 8lb for that but looks progressive. Global Achiever in the 2.40 at Wolverhampton Best form is on this course but this trip seems at the limit of stamina, worn down in C&D classified event prior to good third back at minimum trip last time; should go well again but others may stay on better.E/W If both of these lose then i will change my username to Sue for one week :ok Thats how confident i am today :)

Re: Smash and grab. Barnards Green in the 2.30 at Folkestone 2m3f fast ground winner at Taunton in October but patchy form since and well beaten over same C&D last time; visor he wore there left off but something to prove back in trip.E/W Polar Scout - 3.00 - Folkstone nap. Hurdle/chase winner this year and would almost certainly have beaten Sossus Vlei but for bad mistake at the final fence last time; capable of winning from this mark but jumping remains a concern.

Re: Smash and grab. Dads Lad in the 1.40 at Bangor E/W Stays very well and creditable seconds to his name on both completed starts this term, but needs to pull out more to win this and does not look the best handicapped. Tanterari - 2.10 - Bangor WIN Two wins already this month, comfortably in 3m1f novice handicap at Plumpton (soft) and in facile fashion for 2m6f conditionals event at Fontwell (good); this is a much, much harder contest but he can run off 1lb lower mark than at Fontwell and chances are that he began handicap career off hugely favourable mark, so hard to oppose on hat-trick bid.:ok

Re: Smash and grab. Good form today Herp. Dads lad was in with a shout of that race. Going hand in hand with the leader until the last fence. Tanterari was extremely cheeky the day. Another great shout. It coasted along in second before the last but on landing just stretched away easily from the leader. Two great shouts and very unlucky not to have two returns today. Hope this is the start of another run of yours??!! Col

Re: Smash and grab. 1.10 Ext -ILE DE PARIS Stamina didn´t look his strong suit over hurdles but appeared to have no trouble with the step up to 3m on chase debut last month when he stayed on well despite making mistakes; winner that day has gone in again since and he looks the one to beat on chase form so far.WIN Orbicularis 1.20 Catterick E/W Now 3lb higher than latest third at Newton Abbot but still worth considering as recent record is one of quiet, steady progress, while decent ground will suit; off since August but has been brought a long way for this, which would tend to suggest that he will be straight enough.

Re: Smash and grab. Salt Cellar 1.00 Windsor E/W Fair form in bumpers in which he shaped as though this sort of trip would suit over hurdles RP SP is 20/1 Benbyas - 1.55 - Uttoxeter WIN Game front-runner over hurdles and major chance on form shown in that sphere, including a win on heavy ground over C&D in January; much will depend on his readiness for this as he missed some work recently, though trainer presumably wouldn´t run his stable star unless he was felt to be straight enough in this 4 horse race;)

Re: Smash and grab. 2.10 Haydock-Classic Native nap Useful bumper horse and decision not to tarry over hurdles looks vindicated after making a nonsense of his chasing debut handicap mark at Bangor; couldn´t be sure 9lb raise will anchor him and ground is fine Terlan in the 1.15 at NewcastleE/W German Flat winner who made a winning debut over hurdles at Ayr last month (soft); no match for Arcalis over same C&D latest and may again have to settle for a place.

Re: Smash and grab. Lost and lost Here's for today 22/12/04 Midnight Gunner in the 2.10 at Ludlow Mixed form this year but though one of his better efforts here latest (over farther) following drop in weights, two of his more regular riders are up on rivals today.E/W Gulchina - 12.00 - Lingfield Encouraging debut when fourth of 19 in 7f Newmarket fillies maiden at end of October, coming home in good fashion as she grasped what was required; looks sure to improve and win races.NAP
