Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Wolverhampton 18:20 - Going to be quick here so I dont miss race. Trysting Grove has some excellent recent A/W form and seems to like the Wolves Track. Although had an 18 month lay off prior to 2010 return, Break sems to have paid off, Weight / Distance suit. :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Wolverhampton 18:50 - Had a tip for this race ( Azlak ) but 2 others stand out here. Crunched & Lisahane Bog are both suited by distance , weight. Only thing is, both fit my selection process whether it be weight , distance, recent form , track , jockey & OR. So going to side with both by saying Crunched to WIN & Lisahane Bog to be placed. :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Wolverhampton 19:20 - Although top weighted for this race Ryan Style is slightly lower weight than in his previous but looks competant. A couple of runners could ruin his day but this horse has only 2 previous runs both at Wolverhampton but could come unstuck by the distance. Slightly worrying but not the worts runner in the field by far. Wolverhampton 19:50 - Nice 3YO race where again 2 runners have took my eye. Candyfloss Girl & Lewyn both have good recent form, but looking carefully Lewyn is my choice. Seems to be a 5F runner whilst weighted today at his last winning weight. Nice 2009 turf form but 3 runs in 2010 resulting in 2 wins & 1 second cannot be overlooked.

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Wolverhampton 20:20 - Some very good runners in what should be an extremely tight contest. Divine Force stands out for me with some excellent 2010 form barring his last race. Weight suits but slightly concerned with distance, because this seems to be a consistant 6/7F runner not a 5F runner. But encouraged by Jockey selection and happy with draw. Wolverhampton 20:50 - On recent form a couple of runners do stand out fromt he crowd. Kielty's Folly & Home have caught my eye in a race that should be wide open. After scrutinizing and deliberating Home is my selection. Although could be considered as a distance/stayer with longer runs horse does have 1mile form. Weight is confusing as weighted at 8-12 for this but seems to like late 10 or 11+ weight. Not encouraged by my own reasoning but is well worthy of at leats a place. Wolverhampton 21:20 - Even though Extremely So has a mixture of form over different weights, I think todays run is going to suit nicely. OR has dropped slightly to 58 but recent runs off 59 have been inconsistant. Weight can fluctuate but seems capable of this weight. Not a fantastic field but this horse can run and recent A/W form is encouraging. Finished without pressing delete. Sorry I Missed the starting race 17:50, but wasnt intending to press wrong button and lose everything. Bit pi**ed off with result. but missed race so thats the end of that.

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Friday 9th April Only 1 selection today. Will update post on Friday's evenings runners at Wolverhampton later. Musselburgh 16:35 - Seems a decent race with a couple of capable runners. Previous Course & Distance winner Ansells Pride is my choice in this race. Although bottom weight and a short career to date stretching 24 months racing, this horse looks a very good proposition. If you look at its races in date order, placings are poor, but more indepth searchs show a good pedigree at 1 mile. Also this horse has never lost at Musselburgh, So lets hope today is not the start. Also ran at numerous different weights, this can maybe considered as a handicap as previuos runs at very low weight have resulted in poor form. Distance not an issue and hopefully a new expierience jockey on this ride will bear a result.

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Friday 9th April Wolverhampton 18:15 - Seems a very poor race with only a select few capable of winning. Two horses seem to stand out which are Dimaire & Roybuoy. Although Roybuoy has recent A/W form, Dimaire is my choice. Although no recent runs out, Previous form on A/W is very good. Running at a heavier weight since Sept 09, I dont think this will be a real issue considering the other runners. Dimaire also seems to like a low draw, And starts in Stall 3 for the opener. Wolverhampton 18:45 - Alot stronger race than the opener with a good few capable contenders. Ebraam is my pick. A consistant class 2 runner with no credible form in 2009 season, A/W form is a different story. Running at a lower OR than of previous and a weight to suit, This could be the race for him. This selection is very capable over 5F, But in this strong field might only be worth a place. Wolverhampton 19:15 - Although 9 months without a run, Kings Maiden looks a good choice for this race. Joint top weighted and should be running in the shadows of Jezza in this 1m 5f run. But on inspection this Mare has no previous run on the A/W but I think his 2008/2009 seasons form will carry him through. Also Jockey selection is one I followed last season and probably swayed my vote a little. Wolverhampton 19:45 - You no when you have one of those moments saying why the Fcuk am i picking that, Then all the posters come on and ask If you have cracked up, Well this is one of them moments. Full Toss should run away with this race and doesnt offer value for money unless you want a banana swaying his arms after a winner. So this race I'm going for second place. Fifty Cents is my runner. Probably the second least competant runner in this race, You must think I've cracked. Well Weight is ideal, Has A/W form, Same Jockey throughout its career runs and seems to be picking up and settling its race nerves. One reason for this selection is a major drop in OR which could benefit but draw could be an issue. By the way, I Have not cracked up with the 19:45 selection. :D :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Saturday 10th April All Lingfield. 14:10 - Decent opening race with Seek The Fair Land favoured here. Although Joint top weighted, this gelding has some excellent A/W form. Low draw is going to suit, distance and weight also favour. Although a tough field, this is a capable selection for at least a place. 14:45 - Another decent field over 12f. Mafeking recent form has swayed my vote. Distance not an issue but does like a high draw. Running from stall 1, so could be an issue. 17:10 - Previous course and distance winner Copperwood gets my vote. With my favoured jockey on board, Running of same mark as in last race, Weight & distance not an issue. Draw is definetly in his favour, But a couple of very good runners have decent draws also. 17:45 - Split between 2 runners iin this race. Another strong field with Carr Hall & Alfredtheordinary the 2 i'm deliberating over. What is swaying my vote is the 2010 A/W form of Alfredtheordinary. Draw is not exectly favoured but everything else seems to fit. Although running of a higher mark than in previous 7 races in 2010, Alfredtheordinary gets the nod. 18:15 - OR could be an issue here with Lytham my selection. 5 races in 2010 with 1st 3 runs @ 50 , Dropping to 48 then hiked to 63 which is also the mark for today. 3 wins in last 4 races shows excellent form, Weight / distance favoured but high draw could see this home. :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Only 1 selection today. Reason being the whole point of this thread was to learn some discipline and not back everything that runs. Over the last few days I have been following over half of the card. My original idea was, If 1 stands out - back 1, If 4 stand out back 4. This is not happening at the moment and am not following what I feel is right, I probably wouldnt have picked 4 or 5 runs the other day, but the choice was there. This is where I have to learn. Monday 12th April Windsor 15:20 - Quite an open handicap here with quite a handful of decent runners. My selection is a rank outsider but I'm sticking with it. Saddled by one of my favorite jockey's , Charlotte Point has had a terrible run since summer 2009. But a drop in race class and a distance and weight that suits her. OR is back to when this horse was prominent so have to stick my neck out here and side with Charlotte Point .

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 Tuesday 13th April Pontefract 14:20 - No recent runs to gain fitness, But it's last years Turf form that is leading me towards Tangerine Trees. Going should suit and nicely weighted for this race. I think a deciding factor could well be the draw for this, As it seems to prefer a high draw. Pontefract 15:20 - Decent Handicap race with some very good entries. A recent run should see Jesse James one to be considered. 2009 flat form is what stands out for me here running at a suited weight and distance and a slight drop in OR make this a contender. Yarmouth 15:00 - Although no run for 7 months, a drop in race class should see his horse a threat. Fly Silca Fly is suited in almost all aspects for this run but draw might not favor. Lets see if today is more productive than in recent days. :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 After a couple of days off where nothing really caught my eye and also reflecting on some very poor selections, I have hopefully found a way to study form a little better and make more confident selections. So lets see. Saturday 17th April Newbury 13:30 - Nice Maidens opener with some good looking enties. Colonel Carter is my choice, Although no runs for over 6 months, it returns to a distance and weight that both suit. Going could be to its advantage here. Newbury 14:00 - Akma is my selection purely on its 2009 flat form. Running at a weight consistant with its previous season's runs, The thing that could go against it is the horse seems to prefer a slightly longer race. Newbury 15;05 - Good looking Fillies race where Habaayib fancied here. Distance could be an issue but Weight and Going nicely suited. Newbury 15:40 - Canford Cliffs is my choice. This horse writes it's own reasoning. Excellent horse which I watched last season in amazement. Cannot see another stand out challenger with the nearest possibly Arcano. Thirsk 15:35 - Seems to be a scattering of decent form here but Interdiamonds hopefully can prevail. Not the best of form but distance and going both suit. Will not be holding my breath for this one and will probably be looking for a place. Will be looking at the Evening Cards for Donaster & Nottingham later. :hope

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010

Are you going to be putting up a profit and loss or you just using this for your bets only? I reckon you would be showing a good profit with some very nice winners so far :ok
Many Thanks for the reply Stu. I am quite willing to start showing a profit/loss in my selections if its what people want. I would be quite happy to start from now as I have not had bets on all my selections from start of thread. I wouldnt feel happy back tracking to start of thread because I have had selected bets and not covered all selections. My usual betting pattern is strict, as in if going for WIN then £2.50 or if going for and E/W the £2.50 . With me using this thread to learn a discipline I have not bet on every selection, Only a few, And the few I have bet have all missed out. Suppose I should have more confidence in my selections and feel I'm being over critical with myself so far with this thread. So far I see this thread as a failure, with not alot learnt in the way of anaylising a racecard, Selections have been erratic, but I suppose it's only the start of the season. So if a Profit / Loss needs showing would you want from start of thread or from my selections starting Monday 19th April ? Thanks for the feedback :ok

Re: Philss_99's Flat Season Thread 2010 I dont show every bet I do on this website as I don't feel the justification is suffice compared to alot of excellent write ups yet everything I type on this website comes nowhere and yet bets come in my monthly bank prooves profit I seem to opt the wrong horses for this website and I hope to change I was stiuck to one bookmakers for time due to all winners coming though them so I know it will change just waiting. Cracking thread by the way and a 14/1 winner like yesterday comes in you will go far. I am not brave enough to have my own thread. So stick to it and update when ready.

Absolutely no way is the thread a failure - check mine out!:rollin I think you do some really good write ups and as for analysis of a racecard, the results speak for themselves! If you wait until you're fully confident, it could be a long wait. I think you just have to accept that your always going to be learning at this game. Keep the winners flowing! K

Nothing Else. As for not starting your own thread, Have a crack mate. Done worry about the reasoning or your selections, Thats why the forums here.Plenty of excellent advice and Guys on here to offer encouragement. Also you will have everything in black & white come end of season.
