There's a lot of sense in what you say, but we really do take great care in trying to be as "fair" as possible. While we wouldn't want anyone to be hard done by because of a network failure, equally we wouldn't want to reward them because of it. It's not fair, in my opinion, on those who qualified for one of the other Regular Player tournaments, but didn't win a seat, if we award a seat to everyone remaining in this tournament. There probably is no right or wrong in the situation, but we do have to try and be consistent in our rulings. For what it's worth, the 3 PL seats will go to the top 3 who missed out, who are Dave, me and Slapdash (pending the Inter game) unless slapdash and chapman want to playoff to decide. However, there are 2 spare seats from fenner, so either chapman or slapdash can have one of those anyway. So still at least one spare. I think there'll be some spare for anyone who hasn't played in the league if they want, as I assume by now those that did play and didn't qualify would have posted in this thread (as Vic did). I think I'd win by either of your suggestions, but it seems wrong to decide that after the event, so I'd be happy to decide by some kind of playoff (HU SnG?) or tossing a coin if Chapman agrees.
