Applying Maria's staking plan to football?

Anyone able to help me on this one?

Maria Staking Plan So called after a username on a forum thread that turned £3000 into £100,000 in only 303 days in real-time. In total there were 3547 wins from 4131 selections = 85.88% strike rate. Like all staking plans which are essentially mathematical formulas, The Maria staking plan can be broken down into rules. 1) - There are 3 distinct odds ranges to be aware of. The following is based on a starting bank of £3000

Prices below 3.5: lay to 1% of bank - backer's stake £30 (liability is always under £75 in this price range) Prices from 3.6 to 7.4: lay to 0.6% of bank - backer's stake £18 (liability is always between £46.80 - £115.20 in this price range) Prices from 7.5 to 11: lay to 0.4% of bank - backer's stake £12 (liability is always between £78 - £132 in this price range) Anything above 11 or 10/1 is left alone. 2) - If making profits, the stakes are increased on a daily basis in proportion to the betting bank on a daily basis. For instance, if after day 1 the betting bank is at £3300 then 1% would now be £33 rather than £30. 3) - If after a days betting the cumulative betting bank has decreased the stakes are left alone unless 35% of the highest level of the bank is lost, when the stakes are re-calculated based on the new "65%-sized bank" For example if your using £3000 as your starting betting bank, you would keep the same stakes used until your betting bank went below £1,950 when those backer's stakes would become £19.50, £11.70 and £7.80 until the bank gets back up to £3,000 again (or - even down to £1267.50 - a further 35% loss). The 35% drop is always worked out from the highest point of the bank.

For some silly reason I can't seem to get my head around this. Anyone care to help? Thanks.

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? Hi, Did you cut and paste this from the staking machine website ? If you read the opening comments of the original thread it may help clarify things for you. http://expertbettingadvice.co.uk/forum/thread18432.html Just remember that the plan is designed for laying .... it may or may not transpose well for football or backing or the strike rate of your system.

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? The fact that it's planned for laying doesn't really matter. Laying is after all, just a way to express the backing of a selection. The key thing IMO is that it was designed for bets that have a high implied chance of winning. Most of the lays were at odds, in a backer's sense, between 1.10 to 1.50, so it may not work anywhere near as well if you are backing even money shots.

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? ..... actually its straight forward and as someone said previously it involves laying. The example above is all quoted on the £3000 the guy supposed to have started with, but is all down to your selections at the end of the day. Odds of 3.5 and under = 1% Bank Odds 3.6 - 7.4 = 0.6% Bank Odds 7.5 - 11.0 = 0.4% Its just a controlled way of laying, its all down to how confident you are of your lays that really matters here.;)

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? Yes I have applied this to football and the results for me have not been too promising :eyes To me it did not seem to work but to be honest as previously mentioned, a lot of it is down to how confident you are in your selections. I have applied it to horse racing and I can say that it has worked a treat :) After 7 days I my record is 32-2 with a strike rate of 94.11% and my (paper trading) balance has gone from £3000 to £3381.Long way to go though !! If anyone could try applying Maria's staking plan to football I would love it !

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? You should take a look at this: http://www.punterslounge.com/forum/f19/football-laying-89038/ It seemed to work okay for me. The only problem I could see was that football is very much only a weekly event whereas there's horse racing daily. I know there's lots of leagues worldwide, but I find you can only really specialise in a select number of leagues. I proved you can gain a small edge for laying selections although I think because football is only played weekly your not going to have many selecitons to lay and thus to make any meaningful profit you'd have to use big stakes.

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? Hi guys.. Wet between the ears newbie here (sorry), Am I right in saying that you lay all horses in the range (from -3.5 to 11) in one particular race or just three horses that happen to be priced accordingly?

Re: Applying Maria's staking plan to football? No, and you couldn't be more wrong, you change the size of stake depending what odds your single selection got, in order to manage your risk in cases where you have selections covering a wide range of odds.
