I'm sure some of these jockeys are checking the daily fleet tip ... and then laying against it - knowing damn well what a great pick it was ... some of the riding by the short odds jockeys has been atrocious. FleetFanatic Posted March 20, 2009 Author Share Posted March 20, 2009 Re: Fleet's Racing System I just want to add that I am toying with starting up a second (lazy) version of this, involving speed ratings from 2 websites - what it may mean is that there won't neccesarily be a bet every day, but I can still do 7 bets per revision, just it may be longer than a week for each section. For example, today would have given Bell Island @ 10/11 as both websites had as their strongest speed rating. I just can't envisage this method will throw up losing 1/10 shots. Any thoughts? Obviously when you do a system like this 90% will be fav's for a start and a few of them are bound to be odds on. Looking at the bigger picture 8/10 of these will win and I imagine taking the best prices would make up for that over time. Its hard with the SP's nowadays, I know you use them for fairness, I do the same with mine but they do shorten them up something terrible compared to say 5 years ago. If it does bother you, you could have a cut off point, say nothing shorter than 1/4 or something, but again a price would have to be taken as you just dont know what price it will end up. I was thinking of it as a second system as opposed to a replacement. I'm fairly happy with how things have gone with this one - a lot more happier if Riverside Theatre wins tomorrow though.
