AJ
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 211 Game Update $246.00 profit There was actually a serious strat question based on the above had, wasn't a whinge, honset. So I slow play the flat call the Aces in an attempt to induce a steal, it's been a very loose table. In retrospect hierhasen is doing exactly the same with his Kings. The small blind duly obliges and pushes with his queens, the guy with the KK of course calls. So here's my question, with 7 players left is there an arguement for folding once there is an all-in and a call ? From an icm point of view I mean ? i'm delighted to take my Aces all-in heads up, but multiway ? If I win I almost certainly cash, but I go along way to cashing if I fold and the guy with the QQ gets knocked out as well.
GaF
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 211 Game Update $246.00 profit I dont think you can fold there......but lets double check..... I wont bother with screen prints, but I imagine by now you know where to verify the info.... If you fold and hierhasen wins then you have 78.872% equity if you fold and buckklr wins then you have 62.571% equity if you call and lose to either player, then you have 0% equity if you call and win with hierhasen 2nd then you have 97.258% equity if you call and win with buckklr 2nd then you have 96.203% equity calculations continuing....... (posting now so I dont lose this data)
GaF
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 211 Game Update $246.00 profit I didn't put split pot possibilities in above - I dont think their impact will be that significant, so will ignore than and just use Pokerstove equities If we know the exact cards that the villains have..... If you fold.....QQ will win 18.065% of the time, and KK will win 81.935% of the time, your expectation is therefore.... (78.872% x 81.935%) + (62.571% x 18.065%) = 75.9% If you call, you win 67.088% of the time. So your expectation is: (67.088% x 81.935% x 97.258%) + (67.088% x 18.065% x 96.203%) = 65.1% If you fold, you have 76% equity, if you call then you have 65% equity - I'm surprised (and was totally wrong) that this is a massive massive massive fold...... GaF
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 211 Game Update $246.00 profit I think this is a really important hand for us to understand - calling here is a big mistake (assuming my maths is right, that's not an opinion, it's fact as straightforward as 2+2=4, given that we know our opponents cards, which obviously we dont)- yet you didn't lay it down, I wouldnt have laid it down and the majority of Cooler players wouldnt have given a nanoseconds consideration to laying it down .... so if we can understand the situation to lay it down, then we get a big edge over the field... What happens if they both have AQo? (pretty much our best scenario?) We win 92.6% of the time, then we have about 90% equity, so it's an easy call. So it all comes down to range...... Lets put buckler on a pretty loose range - any pair, any broadway (17.9%) Lets put hierhasen on a range of 88+, AK and AQ (5.6%) 3 way equities in this case are: buckler: 13.770% hierhasen: 14.554% AJ: 71.676% 2 way equities in this case are: buckler: 37.639% hierhasen: 62.361% If you call, your equity is in the ballpark of 71.5%*92%=66% If you fold, your equity is in the ballpark of (79% x 62%) + (63% x 38%) = 73% So still a massive fold against a range of hands if you dont know their specific cards.... AJ
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 252 Game Update $302.50 profit 11 wins from the last 16 actually isn't that bad I suppose. Perhaps shouldn't whinge that much, but really thought I was on track for 62 or 63 wins from my first 100. Will knock off the final 5 games in next 24 hours and finish with Poker till the 5th as i have people staying with me and need to be sociable :lol
AJ
Re: Yet another coolers challange - 252 Game Update $302.50 profit 56 wins in my first set, know I can do better next time Lost at the end of the final game with AK vs KQ, needless to say he flopped trip queens :sad Lost game 97 with AK vs KQ as well when he rivered a straight. Bit of a disapointment but there you go. First set of 100 done for a profit of $80, where I'm sitting now it feels like a loss, but that'll come good. Going to take a bit of time off, certainly no more poker this year. Most probably wait until I've been on holiday and restart this when I return about the 15th. $270 profit for the first phase is ok, yesterday was a stinker, but I'm in profit for today, for the week and for the month. Best of luck to the rest of you, catch up a couple of weeks 9630-DecTu8:42 PM1009730-DecTu9:07 PM909830-DecTu9:31 PM109930-DecTu9:32 PM1010030-DecTu9:33 PM68
