I'll try to copy GaF's lead and stick a hand or two up for you guys to tear apart!:lol:lol 1st one was in a low stakes MTT with 4 players left...top 3 paid. My take on Chippy was that he was tight but had went all-in with 2 recent hands showing 88 each time. Re-raise all in? Call and shove? Fold? What would you do in my position? ***** Hand 1297965360 ***** 400.00/800.00 Texas Hold'em (No Limit) - 29/10/2008 21:29:44 Virgin €100 GTD (Real/Tournament) Seat 1: Unknown (0.00) Seat 2: Unknown (0.00) Seat 3: Unknown (0.00) Seat 4: 4Tknox (17760.00) Seat 5: chippylppl (18913.00) Seat 6: Unknown (0.00) Seat 7: JAYJAY053 (28145.00) Seat 8: Unknown (0.00) Seat 9: Spiersey42 (8382.00) Seat 10: Unknown (0.00) JAYJAY053 post SB 400.00 Spiersey42 post BB 800.00 ** Deal ** 4Tknox [N/A, N/A] chippylppl [N/A, N/A] JAYJAY053 [N/A, N/A] Spiersey42 :Qh: :As: *** Bet Round 1 *** 4Tknox Fold chippylppl Raise to 3100.00 JAYJAY053 Fold Spiersey42 to act TQM

Re: TQM's Strategy Thread Nice one TQM - The main reason I like doing it on WH is because I'm not being selective at all and only chosing the hands I want to talk about - I'm hoping people will point things out that I never even considered from hands I otherwise wouldnt have posted :ok In this hand - AQo is a monster 4 handed - you're short stacked - reraise all in for me......

Re: TQM's Strategy Thread That's more replies than I expected, however, all the replies were as expected! If I'd replied I'd been saying SHOVE too!:ok Please remember when analysing my game that I am not mathematical and have only read one poker book (4 years ago) so I don't understand all the 'Ms' and technical stuff!:cry When I saw my cards I was just waiting to hit the all-in button and even better that I've got a raise in front of me because, as has been said. AQ is a big hand when only 4-handed. What made me pause was the strange amount that Chippy had chucked in.....not 2/3/4 x the BB which was his normal playl.....but $3100 or 2.5 BB's (I think)....now why would he bother to do that?:unsure If he had a small PP he'd have probably put me all in....same with A rag......I decided he was trying to appear weak and probably had a monster and was trying to entice me into shoving, so I folded and got a bonus when he showed :Ac: :Ad: :cow:cow It was probably a fluke but I felt like I'd won the Tourney!:lol:lol I doubled up shortly after and went on to win:ok ***** Hand 1297965360 ***** 400.00/800.00 Texas Hold'em (No Limit) - 29/10/2008 21:29:44 Virgin €100 GTD (Real/Tournament) Seat 1: Unknown (0.00) Seat 2: Unknown (0.00) Seat 3: Unknown (0.00) Seat 4: 4Tknox (17760.00) Seat 5: chippylppl (18913.00) Seat 6: Unknown (0.00) Seat 7: JAYJAY053 (28145.00) Seat 8: Unknown (0.00) Seat 9: Spiersey42 (8382.00) Seat 10: Unknown (0.00) JAYJAY053 post SB 400.00 Spiersey42 post BB 800.00 ** Deal ** 4Tknox [N/A, N/A] chippylppl [N/A, N/A] JAYJAY053 [N/A, N/A] Spiersey42 :Qh::As: *** Bet Round 1 *** 4Tknox Fold chippylppl Raise to 3100.00 JAYJAY053 Fold Spiersey42 Fold :loon *** Showdown *** : Rake: 0.00 Total Pot: 2300.00 4Tknox Fold Win: 0.00 chippylppl By default Win: 2300.00 JAYJAY053 Fold Win: 0.00 Spiersey42 Fold Win: 0.00 Christ, that was hard to explain.:lol I'll try and post another 'big' hand soon. Re: TQM's Strategy Thread Ah not fair - you used information that you didn't provide in the opening post - i.e. his normal bet sizing tendancies - that's significant, and thats why you folded - you didnt share that information with us ;) Do you know what a second is? And an hour? You do? Oh good - how many books did you read to learn about them, and how they interact with one another? :tongue2 My point being - dont be fooled into thinking "M" is anything mysterious or technical or mathematical (any more so than a second, minute or an hour) - all "M" is, is a measure of time. M="How much time do I have left in this tournament before I'm blinded away?". Its unit of measure is the number of circuits you can survive without playing a hand and still having chips left. The blinds are 400/800 in this hand - so it is costing you 1200 per round (no ante's). You have 8300 ish in your stack - 8300 / 1200 is approximately 7. Your M is 7. You have 7 circuits left in you before you are blinded away. See nothing complicated is it ;) Other thing to say - don't be results orientated - On this occasion he showed AA - that does not mean necessarily that folding your AQ was the right decision!! If he would have done the same with AA,KK,QQ,JJ,TT,99,88, AKs, AKo, AQs, AQo, AJs, AJo, ATs, ATo, KQs, KJs, QJs, JTs for example, then you could possibly have been right to shove, even though on this single occasion he showed you AA.
