Re: Laying attempt no.3 - BANK DOUBLED:O) Ok so it seems that in my hurry I managed to miscount:$ Still 11-0 today is not to be sniffed at and bank is only 106 pennies away from being doubled:lol Of course my dilemma now is that upon doubling the initial bank I was going to reduce staking to 1.5% (still too much but I'm doing this in stages) as opposed to the ridiculous 2% now:unsure I mean officially I still haven't doubled the bank so staking tomorrow should be £3.98:unsure Did miss out on 10/1 winner today though which is always nice. Never once traded under 11.5 so I left it well alone. Would be slightly more concerned going into tomorrow if the system itself had shown no losses over 2 days. As it is there was a loss. I just missed it:tongue2 As is clearly visible there were a number of large prices which I managed to get under the 11.5 cutoff today. Some drifted heavily after I placed my lay and others had traded at plenty under 11.5 earlier in the day so I kept the unmatched lay and all easily got taken during the race. There was just one horse I siimply couldn't get today and that was Cerveza Dinero which was surprising. Firstly it traded under 11.5 before the race and was hovering not that far away until moments before the off. Secondly it got away quickly and ran prominently (2nd for a large part of the race) until tailing off towards the end but still only got to 13 in running. Not a lot of love for it that's for sure! Thirdly it finished higher up the pecking order than Iwilltellyouwhen which I got matched halfway through the race.

Re: Laying attempt no.3 - BANK DOUBLED:O) Before I put up todays selections I just want to address a couple things. It might seem terribly convenient that I keep missing all these race winners around 12/1-14/1 SP but the honest to gods truth is that they never once, according to the charts I look at before placing lay, traded under 11.5! All I can think is that the reason for missing these in the main could be due to most of the 12/1 - 14/1 horses I manage to lay under 11.5 being heavy drifters that started off in single figures. On the other hand I may end up laying 2x 12/1 winners on the bounce to balance things out. Generally speaking the law of averages will always even things up. Who knows:unsure Also, just so people don't think I am putting in lays that were never attainable at 11.5 I should advise that I have actually omitted a couple of horses at 14/1 & 20/1 (both lost/winning lays) as these were layed in race (accidentally seemed to keep the lay inplay:$) and at no point that I'm aware of were ever available/traded under 11.5 prior to the race.

It is particularly galling the way things turned out as my over eagerness to include every damned horse that traded so much as a fiver under 11.5 cost me in the end. In fact it cost me a brilliant day where the criteria I aspire to would have gone around 26-1 on the day. Still, I've been learning every step of the way and this is just another mistake of which I am sure I will make many more:\ On the whole though this is not the end of the world and compared to some of the mistakes I've made previously....this is honestly nothing:ok From now on though I think I will set a rigid rule which will be stuck to like glue. Unless at least £10 has traded at 11.5 or under on the horse prior to race time I will not keep an in-play lay. Believe it or not this would have gotten rid of both 12/1 winners yesterday as both only skimmed past my cutoff for minimum amounts of around £4.00. The irony being that no matter how early I'd placed those lays I would have struggled to be first to the plate and therefore to lay at or under 11.5. Dumbarse I am:lol

Was laying too many in-play that I wasn't going to include in results here but when you come to look at things the day after it's not so easy. So as I said before simple rule now that if at least £10 traded at or under 11.5 then the lay gets kept in-play. Also annoying was missing so many (at least 4 or 5) lays around 10/1 which I just simply couldn't get anywhere near within the cutoff I have set myself. Have to remember though that these things balance out and already I have missed a 10/1 winner. It will happen again I'm sure:ok
