BAM Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 Re: PL World Series of Poker Live Event It is a good idea, obviously location is going to dictate numbers and I would suggest that London makes the event a whole lot more expensive digs wise for people (but Luton is a good G with a cheap lodge nearby) The other point, that I have tried to make in the private games on a Friday, HiLo games should be limit, the nature of Omaha and the split pot doesn't lend itself to pot limit that is just for high really. The pot limit hilo played last Friday was just bingo I not sure if the (real) WSOP do this game but I'm pretty sure they are mostly limit. Maybe this should be looked at or even a mixed limit game for the stud enthusiasts. The dates i was looking at was after the WSOP and before the WSOPe in order to get as many players as we can withought being interupted by big festivals. ubermonkey1 Posted April 5, 2008 Share Posted April 5, 2008 Re: PL World Series of Poker Live Event Thats cos you drink and :dude too much, you just cant grasp the intellectual debating that Graham and I carry out :tongue2 maybe:lolmind you i've only drunk once in the last 2 months:loon limit is ok for tourneys i spose:unsurebut i still find it frustrating as you cant pull moves that make you a fair bit on pl. making people pay for their low draws. in limit its often a easy call for those on a low draw,pl you can really catch people out who shouldnt be calling. push to pick up the pot with the nuts one way. if you have the nuts one way but nothing the other way ,in pl you can push the opponent off the pot if they are mediocre both ways to pick up the lot,in limit they will call it down. easier to pick off those that overvalue a nut hand one way and nothing the other. some players will happily keep raiseing/reraiseing with the nuts one way and no possible hand the other,again this suits pl better as you can really get a big pot if its being quartered. maybe all the extra action in pl is a bit to much for a old guy like you bri:tongue2 maybe you should take up bridge or crib. At the moment this is intended as £25 + £50 seats + expenses but may need to change depending on final arrangements.
