Sorry but can't be done effectively enough to produce accurate percentages. Ginge Yes it can. The program doesn't need to account for every possible variable in order to be effective. Gingertipster Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Re: Lunatism’s Statistical Selections (lss) NE, An odds compiler would be looking at things like how good each team is in the air, how good they are at a probable 4-5-1 formation etc. Yes you have only got to be better than the market but that market is produced by a professional odds compiler who studies each match in quite some detail. Therefore, it would surely be wise to take in to account all the things an odds compiler does. I do not see how that can be done without a certain amount of opinion. I would guess odds compilers have programs which give them their prices. They may then adjust according to subjective factors (injuries, formation, heading ability, whatever), other bookie prices (they don't want to be out of line) and where the money is going in Asia.
