DarrenRhys
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 THURLES 14:45 Knight Legend This horse has shown plenty enough in the past to be more than competitive in this race. Seems to like this time of year having had a few good wins on the board in previous years in January, and has proven ability running alongside top class company in the past over this sort of trip and in testing conditions. Trainer form is tidy enough and I'm a fan of Barry Geraghty. Tricky race as you would expect in a race of this class but my selection should put in a good performance. :hope
ironstoney
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 My bet of the day is:Southwell 3.00....BENTLEY(E/W). I backed this one last time out at Wolverhampton when it just failed to catch the winner.Looking back at the race I was left wondering if it was acting on the surface. It makes a quick reappearance today at Southwell where it has already won over C/D.It would be a surprise if it did not at least reach the frame.:ok

Falbrav
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 Amidreamin 1.15 Thurles. LAY. (3.25 currently betfair) Yet to win after eleven lifetime starts, and although has the form that suggests he can go well in context with this race, he's also vulnerable to several potential improvers, therefore he looks very short at the current prices. Ruby Walsh on board and so will be a bit shorter in price, but I do believe at least one of the unexposed bunch will improve past him, therefore has to be a lay at the prices. Rainbow
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 my bet of the day would be munnings 345 thurles. thrown in on flat form. if taking to conditions will be very hard to beat. nothing in race can match him if able to run to his ability. price is big at 3.5. racingtrader
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 Southwell 3.30 Jord 1pt win got to lean towards the ultra consistent Jord in this below par 3.2K 1m Cl5 handicap, only Jord and Cha Cha Cha look capable of winning in this company and it is Jord who is clearly the top pick of those 2, it win by default and merely needs to hold its current form to take this. yorkshire punter
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 guys, my apologies for not reading the rules about best bet of the day postings. here is today's only selection along with the correct stake. wolverhampton 650 COLEORTON DANCER 1pt win. hard to win with handicapper from the shrewd kevin ryan stable that is on a winable mark despite not seeing the winner's enclosure sine 2005. tried to steal it on the home turn LTO only to run out of steam inside the final furlong eventually finishing 3rd. 11/4 forecast price in a 6 runner race looks decent with stable jockey callan on board. expect a bold showing once again. Verisimilitude
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 Kingsmaite 2.00 Southwell. Did better last time and can do a little better today, and that should see him bang there at the end. Conditions are suitable, and most of the others have questions to answer, so I think we can run well and go very close at least. The price of 6/1 looks fine, but safe to go 0.5 points each/way to soften the blow if beaten after a photo!
courtyboy02
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 My Mentor (Southwell 3:30) Sir Mark's stable is in cracking form at present. Although Jord is very good over 1m at Southwell I think My Mentor has the beating of Jord, receiving weight off Jord.
mileni4uk
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 3.00 Southwell - Music Box Express E/W Won and twice placed from 4 AW attempts. Bad run lto can be excused, beacuse jockey reported horse was not quite right. Less exposed than plenty of the others and a little improvement can see him easily taking this at a massive price. 22/1 @ SportingBet is worth a nibble!! Woodie
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 7.20 Tapas Lad not surprised that this is favourite around 2/1 best price the 9/2 rp forecasted did look way to big. Was well backed the other day and did well to finish 3rd in what looked to be a better race than this one he missed the break that day which hasn't been a habit so lets hope that was just a one off. Has a nice draw and if getting of to a level start tonight he'll take all the beating.
friskyfitz
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 Wolves 6.50 My bet of the day is a Wolverhampton course specialist Figaro flyer. Of its last 4 races here, it has had 3 wins and a short-head 2nd. Jockey Simon whitworth has been onboard 5 times already so knows the horse and has carried Figaro flyer past the winning post twice. Its lifetime record on the AW is 5 wins, 5 seconds and 4 third places from 23 run which is a 60% place SR. Too good to overlook at these odds. Boulder5111
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 S4.00 Raven Rascal 0.5pt E/W The last time this one raced over CD it sprung a surprise when winning at 66/1 (and was hampered !). It was also the last time P Mathers sat on it. The same combination today over the same CD and about the same price :eek. More to do to win this but must surely be overpriced. Also one of the younger horses in the race so less exposed than most.

mowgli77
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 Colorado Rapid 6.35 Nad Al Sheba (WIN) Followed this on the flat when it was with Mark Johnstone, progressive profile and caught the eye at Ponty when I was there, winning a class 4 handicap. 2nd in a class 2 handicap on its last run and has now moved to Godolphin who have already had 2 winners today here. Unraced on aw surface but great chance and 8-1 interests me.

Unraced on aw surface but great chance and 8-1 interests me. Looking forward to seeing this run too and I am going to have 0.5 pts e.w. The surface today is a complete unknown for the horse but I totally agree that this was progressive last year on the turf. Even its early form looks decent amongst the likes Emerald Wilderness, Docofthebay and of course had that good second lto. In its Ascot run it was arguably unlucky as it was pushed around early on in the hurly burly of a big field. If I recall it even had a St James's Palace Stakes entry for a long time which suggests the obvious talent. My only slight qualm is that sometimes it can be more of a hold up performer which do not always prosper here and that in future it might want more than what it is racing over today. A gamble today given the doubt on the surface but I will take it.
secretmachines
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 6.50 wolverhampton FIGARO FLYER always runs well here sure to be there at the finish same here, but i'm going to go EW... it's got cracking form around C&D and has had 10 days off so should be nice and fresh. i'm going EW as i think it'll be a very close race and it might lose by a neck... but i'm hoping it'll come good ;)
bowles10
Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 17/01/08 7.50 Wolves Happy as larry I will take another chance with this horse, won off 83 December 06 & come down the weights to 75 tonight. Was fancies last time out going off fav but ran poorly that night. Might just be more value tonight at around 4/1.
