Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October

Zenit St Petersburg AZ Alkmaar
UEFA CUP Thursday 24th October 2007 Dick Advocaats' Zenit take on AZ here and with Advocaats' knowledge of the Dutch game (National Coach and PSV Coach previously) I can see Zenit winning this game. Odds of around even money look fair and should be taken. Form going into this game shows Zenit in a rich vein of form especially at home and with them not losing in all european competitions at home for their last 15 games, I can't see how a struggling AZ (domestically) can cause Zenit too many problems. Another top draw performance from Zenits' wonderful playmaker Arshavin will make the top clubs in Europe put him as a desirable asset in the next transfer window. Arshavin almost single handedly brought down England's Euro Championship aspirations with a great performance for the Russian National Team last week in their 2 v 1 win! Zenit win Evens @2.00 :ok

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October I see value on Red Star tomorrow, 'cause Bayern M. will be without 4 players: Martin Demikelis, Frank Riberi, Daniel Van Bajten and Luka Toni...they didn't even arrived in Belgrade, so Red Star with full squad and home support will have an advantage

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Ribery is out for BM but look at their starting lineup for tomorrow : Bayern Munich: Rensing - Lahm, Lucio, Lell, Jansen – Altintop, Van Bommel, Zé Roberto, Schweinsteiger - Klose, Podolski FK Crvena Zvezda: Randjelovic - Basta, Gueye, Tutoric, Andjelkovic - Castillo, Lukas - Molina, Milijas, Koroman - Jestrovic 1.53 is value for me and looking at the squads I think Bayern will win even if the atmosphere will be a fire one. Also could anybody please tell infos about Elfsborg - AEK Athena and Brann - Hamburg? Please, thanks.

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October

Castillo' date=' Lukas - Molina, Milijas, Koroman.[/quote'] With these guys in midfield Red Star are capable of coping with Bayern Munchen anytime!Physically and especially technically very strong midfielders... Normally, Bayern are expected to win this one, but if coach Kosanovic leaves Andjelkovic out of the starting lineup, then I can see the Bavarians struggling big time! Also, Mauricio Molina is better free-kick taker(just take a look at Youtube or somewhere else some of his cracking goals and dribblings in South America) than anyone at Bayern and this also gives Red Star a decent chance to score here! Some Bayern's top players, like Lucio or van Bommel, have already had a very moments at Marakana! They failed to beat Red Star with their old clubs(PSV and Bayer Leverkusen)! You should be very careful here!Red Star ain't as powerful as they used to be in 1991, but only in the last 10 years, since their return in Euro Cups, they've never lost a single european home match by 2 or more, and many strong teams have failed to win at Maracana in this period: Lazio, AS Roma, Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Bayer Leverkusen, Kaiserslautern(championship genereation), Celta Vigo(top side in Spain that year), Chievo Verona(top side in Spain that year), Metz(lost the title in France in the last round), Glasgow Rangers,...

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Hamburg is looking great at these odds. Van Der Vaart is injured but HSV showed a fantastic performance couple of days ago playing against Stuttgart. Hamburg won 4-1 without Van Der Vaart. HSV's striker Ivica Olic is "on fire" lately. He scored 3 goals against Stuttgart, and Stuttgart is not a bad team at all. Brann is the best team in Norway, but Hamburg is too much for them IMO. I expekt the game to be similar to Rosenborg-Schalke 0:2. Easy victory for German team.

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October UEFA Cup Soccer - Bordeaux/Galatasaray - total Over 2 (-139) for the regulation time held on Oct 25 at 12:00pm [pending] UEFA Cup Soccer - Basel/Rennes - total Over 2½ (+101) for the regulation time held on Oct 25 at 1:45pm [pending] Also was leaning to overs in Tottenham and Brann Bergen, but will probably just stick to these two. Taking overs in two games with French teams...something I noticed last year was that the French teams scored many more overs in European competition than in their league play. But in these two cases, Rennes and Bordeaux have both shown the ability to score and concede, and in Basel and Galatasaray they play opponents that have been in many high-scoring Cup games over the years, always attacking. Over 2 for any Cup game with Galatasaray is especially generous onsidering their past record...I'm thinking of the CL game at Liverpool, 3-2 final, fought to the death.

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Bayern might not have it all easy today. This game is a very close call.I don't know much about this red star team but a trip to maracana is not what any team in europe wants and i see bayern would be satisfied with a draw here. This is surely bayern's toughest game in the group and if they can return with a point i feel even hitzfeld would be satisfied. There is great value on red star +1 hcp but since i don't bet against my own team will just leave it alone.Anyone who need a good bet today i would say taking the handicap would be a very nice bet as it won't be that easy for bayern to win more than 1 goal at maracana.

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Everton v Larissa Everton were very unlucky not to get something out of their last game in the Merseyside Derby - if it were not for some very dubious refereeing descisions then Everton could have easily won! Everton have this uncanny knack of bouncing back straight away from a poor result in their own estimations and losing a Derby game against their bitterest of rivals will spur them on to do well here for their fans. Everton never ever batter teams, you will never see them beating teams by comfortable margins, so my advice is to stay away from handicap betting on Everton. The best way to make money is to follow in form players who are scoring for them. Although they haven't got a prolific scorer in their ranks except for maybe Yakubu, however he has yet to gel with the team - so looking at a slow Larissa defence and maybe fragile at set pieces as I'm sure their not of premiership standards! Lescott has to be taken on the score anytime market! He is currently top scorer for the team this season and has scored 3 in the premiership and 2 already in Europe. He is a player that likes to get forward on set plays and is very dangerous in the air! Lescott any time goalscorer @7.50 Paddypower is great odds and I would rather back these odds than any outright or handicap odds for an Everton win! Also Everton could still have a draw and Lescott get on the scoresheet! :ok

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Totenham have a very level of play, but now they only 18-th. In some games they no lucky, but plays very well. About Hetafe: After leaving Shuster affairs teams have very bad. Theis main target - dont leave Primera and UEFA Cup is not very important for them. So, my bet is Totnem -1

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Zenit St Petersburg to beat AZ Alkmaar UEFA Cup Group A These two teams are in the same group as Nurnburg of Germany, Larissa of Greece and Everton so will be hoping to get off to a good start with 3 teams progressing from the group stages. To get to this point in the competition Zenit beat Standard Liege of Belgium 4-1 on aggregate with a 3-0 home win doing the damage. AZ overcame Pacos Ferreira of Portugal 1-0 over two legs with the solitary goal coming in the away leg. Zenit are top of the Russian league on goal difference from Spartak Moscow after 27 games and so are well into their season and their home record reads won 9 drawn 4 lost 1 scored 27 conceded 14. The only defeat was a 3-1 reverse to Spartak back in April and since that time Zenit have gone from strength to strength. In their last 6 games in the league they have won 5 and lost won winning the 3 games in that time by scoring 7 and conceding only 2. Their opponents tonight AZ have made a poor start to their league campaign and after 8 games have won2 drawn 2 and lost 4 scoring 14 and conceding 11 and they currently sit 12th in the table. On their travels in the league they have 1 draw and 2 defeats to show for their efforts scoring 3 and conceding 5. Their form over the last 6 games does not offer much encouragement either with only 2 points being picked up from a possible 18, and I feel that they will struggle to get anything from today’s encounter. The other bet I will have today is a more speculative one in the first goalscorer market. Pavel Pogreniak has scored 11 times in the league for Zenit this season and no fewer then 8 of them have been first goals! Now at 8/1 in the first goal market I feel a few pounds/Euro can be risked for a good potential return. The fact that Pogreniak with 11 goals is supported so well in the goal scoring department by Arshavin (9 goals) and Zhirinovsky (9 goals) is the main reason I feel Zenit will come out on top and I would not put anyone off having a look at the anytime goalscorer market to see what price the other 2 are. Good Luck all :)

Hm, I wouldnt agree with the fact, that Getafe are very bad. Have you watch them this season? Especially against Real Madrid, they totally destroyed their defence, mainly Uche absolutely dominated the likes of Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos. He is very very fast player and considering the piss poor defending from the Spurs, I see some real problems for them. Getafe will use defensive tactics + fast counters, they have the right players to do that. As for Tottenham, I wouldnt say they played some great stuff, pretty mediocre, especially in defence and midfield, strikers Berbatov and Keane had to fight themselvs for balls, as the midfield lack creativity, and now without Bale, despite the fact that he is naturally a left back, they will lack it even more. Another problem for the team is that Berbatov is not in good mood and form, he had some problems with coach Jol lately, and his potential replacement Darren Bent is really poor, what an overrated player... Maybe Tottenham will win, they will try to get back on truck, and this game is maybe good opportunity, but I see no value in their price. If I have to bet smth here, it will be both teams to score.

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Ok Boss1984, I'm going to back Aberdeen to win! :tongue2 13 minutes after asking about the game, you were sure enough to pick it within your acca! :unsure Good luck with it but usually one that you're not so sure about that throws you out of the win!

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Abeerden are without their top striker D.Mackie,J.Smith and Soutar. They are into this game with some confidence winning their last 3 games. Maybe our friends from Greece can help out with Pana who on record are unbeaten on their 3 home games with 0 goals conceded. The strength of the teams that they had played against I am not familiar. But 1 thing I can be sure of is the Greek stands which will definitely be their 12th man on the field, but at this odds I would preferably leave them alone. Just my thoughts boss. BOL in your bets.

Panathinaikos just a few years back were a solid team, maybe not elite, but yet good enough to hold Man Utd to a draw in Athens, whilst also making the knock out stages of the Champions League. Aberdeen on the other hand struggled to score at home in their last European fixture! I cant see the Dons goin over to Athens to spoil the party! :dude

Re: Uefa Cup Thur 25th October Boss1984, I have no doubts that Panathinaikos are a better side and if that's the foundation for your bet good luck. I just thought it was funny how you went on them almost straight after asking what other people thought. I have taken Gala to win for value @ 3.85, less than the 4 which originally stood but I guess that's because the higher price was taking a bit of interest. I also have over 2.5 goals as Spurs had 7 in their last Uefa Cup, usually concede and score 1 in vast majority of games and Getafe aren't bad side but Spurs will be using all their efforts to try to push for victory.
