avongirl
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship APAT Regional : The first live event of Season Two is the initial leg of the APAT Regional Championships, taking place at 13 premium casinos across the United Kingdom on October 6th. Please see the Regional Schedule for more information. Looks like all venues running qualifiers at same time. Must be emboldened just to separate each venue name. BAM
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship It seems a bit folly paying £20 playing for a few hours in the hope of making the top 10% and getting a £75 seat. Unless you are after a bit of fun and live experience I'd take my chances in the clickfest if you don't get in, it is better than being £20 down and still not in. teaulc
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship this is gonna serve a purpose in the fact that the casino is just a 20 minute walk from the hospital connor is staying in,so i can see him and then a bit of r and r for meself;)
brael
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship I'm heading for the game in Edinburgh. I've played at a Gala Casino only twice this year but have managed to get regular home games going. The casino structure is crap so I'm looking forward to a better tourney than usual! :ok

Maybe the regionals and online qualifiers account for all the seats. :unsure (I haven't read up on it, just musing.)

brael
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship Mate called the casino and has confirmed that no seats have been sold. Given the fuss that he, and others apparently, have kicked up then there's no way they're going to allow pre-reg for this. Game on! :ok

Had a read on the website and these look like seperate tourneys to the National Tourneys - you also gain 'Ranking Points', and I presume prize money !! Also the Top ranked player in each 'Region' gains entry into the World Amateur Championship in London . Your points are only counted within each region, but suppose spreading over 4 venues makes it fairer. I assume its to give more people the incentive to get off their arses and have a live game, without it costing a fortune ?
jarjaruk
Re: APAT Season 2 Regional Championship From the APAT forum "To give you an indication of breakdown, an 80 player event would pay as follows:- 1st - £250 + Gold + £75 Seat 2nd - £200 + Silver + £75 Seat 3rd - £150 + Bronze + £75 Seat 4th to 8th - £80 + £75 Seat. 1st to 9th - 9 to 1 Ranking Points respectively. Grosvenor Casino locations will retain the £75 and forward to the host casino for National seat entry. Gala Casino locations will award the £75 and qualifying players will be posted a payment link for their National seat. The events will all be dealer dealt. It is almost inevitable that somewhere along the line, somebody will screw something up. I hope at worst that involves a Casino being a dealer short owing to illness or similar, but we will be looking for constructive member feedback on as many of the events as possible to ensure we can work on any negative experiences directly with the casinos".
