Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Yeah jumbo i am of the same opinion of you and i am in love with this website. I to discovered this year that there is a whole other world out here on the internet for punters! By the way i have changed my mined about the eagles game and have now gone for Manly to win by 13-18 points @ 4.75 with tabsports. I stupidly forgot about bailey backing up and as a dragons fan i now how important bailey's impact is to a game and without him been 100% fit there forwards may struggle. So thanks for pointing that one out to me jumbo! so my new bet is manly 13-18/parra and newcastle hd2hd. Gl all for today _________________________________________________________________ I'm just a maori in this white mans world

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd)

More to decide tomorrow but there is one thing I've had a look at that I like the look of. Some players have a fantastic record of scoring against certain teams or venues and none is more relevant than Brett Stewart, who averages a try per game at Brookvale. Brett Stewart Anytime Scorer @ 2.00 Centrebet
Wow very nice pick cp! only had to wait a whole 1minute 47 seconds cash in on that one, nice one! i hope you took him 1st tryscorer aswell!

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Geez Manly 1st half goal line sliding defence has been superb. There has been 3 or 4 times now when the titans looked certain to score but manly has scrambled well. Also what a mighty kick by a mighty halback in orford for manly's 3rd try, he cleverly spotted preston at marker and put in the kick for the corner with hick's perfectly timed run for a wonderful smart manly try. 18-0 halftime

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Nah bro,it means Chelsea to win by 1 goal.example:1-0,2-1 Both games this season Carling Cup and Premiership both 1-0 wins to Chelsea over Newcastle, after Man United draw last night this is a must win for Chelsea but I expect Newcastle to keep them honest and the threat of Martins will make Chelsea play close so 1-0 or2-1 for me at odds of $3.75 over here, but Chelsea to win is a dead cert mate.Back to the league,Eels are comming up and I gotta make some Kai for my Kids, speak to you after bro.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Ok got it. Yeah cuz thats seems a very tasty bet as it is a well known fact chelsea are the 1-0 specialist. I cannot count the number of times i've bet on them this year for them to win by 1-0 and keep my heart pumping the whole game. I am going to watch the parra game @ 6.00 pm (aus time) as it is delayed here on foxtel so i won't be posting before 8.00pm again because chances are someone's going to tell me who one it on this blog. Have taken parra/parra haltime/fulltime for some value. I hope manly keep it to 13-19. :hope peace

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) I'm happy with getting up the Manly HT/FT Double but kicking myself for the bet that I missed. I went to put my bets on at 8:10am and SportsTAB wasn't open yet, I found that out after submitting a bet for B.Stewart FTS/Manly 13+ paying $19 which was rejected due to the TAB not being open. After the site opened finally I forgot about the bet! :cry

hard luk bro. Sorry to all who followed on Parra, man did'nt they give that match away:cry Hopefully the Knights can get us all back on track,i've decided to take them at 1-12 for a bit of fun,I still have them at the h2h though. I wanted to ask everyone a question.. Is Jhons the greatest player YOU can remember? Being a Kiwi we never had a true game breaker like you Aussies seem to produce but Lewis,Daley,Kenny were all great players and what about Freddie he is the stand out in my mind.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Jumbo, I'd say Campese but you'd probably shove the mouse down my throat given yr views on the rah rahs. lol. Couldn't rate Fittler ahead of the other players you named - all top shelf and difficult to separate. You are talking modern era of course so may be too far back to list the likes of Fulton, Beetson, Gasnier, Langlands etc. Quick thoughts only...

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) I'm biased because I'm a passionate Knights supporter but I've seen no other player that had/has the complete package like Johns, there is nothing in the game the guy can't do. Attack, Defence, Kicking, Goal Kicking, just the best IMO.

Speaking of Jhons two moments in his career stand out to me,the first is when he was still a new player for the Knights,i can't remember who they were playing but Jhons threw a dummy(inside his own 20) stepped off his right foot straight into 3 defenders broke the tackle and ran 80 meters for the try, brilliant.Good old Sammy Stewart was one of the commentators thats why I remember it as Sammy was raving on about this new kid and his brother and the second was in a final once again my memorie escapes me on who it was against but Dingotech mate you'll know,Jhons was knocked out,got up and fell over, got up again and fell over then for the next 5 or 6 mins the Khights covered for him in defence while the trainers were trying to pull him off to which Jhons was none to pleased about and he stayed on and then set up about 4 trys and won the match on his own, truly magical moments,All the best Joey, thanks for the memories.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) I've just been listening to the radio while reseaching and heard that the Knights have named a stand after him,and they have retired the No.7 jersey for him.THAT IS FANTASTIC,a great tradition in America but never really done here,he in the Knights best no.7 and probaly one of the games best no.7's for the Knights to do that is great a fantastic gesture to Jhons and hopefully an Idea that we embrace in sports codes down here. Just the Jersey idea, not the rest of Americas shite.

Knights to beat Broncos (-120) ---- 0.6 units gl
lost hindsight is easy, but when I made this play I had a real feeling it was going to turn out to be a donation to centrebet ... as a lifelong Broncos supporter I know first hand how many games they've won in circumstances like tonight, that is, where their backs were against the wall after a run of losses ... Brisbane is a team that knows how to cope with adversity and this spot was taylor-made for them tonight against a Johns-less Newcastle side that I have no doubt was feeling a lot of excess pressure to deliver the goods on this big occasion ... bad bet

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) No need to apologise Jumbo, you stick your neck out and put up your tips and give good reasoning. You're right a lot more often than you're not too. Net has been dead all day and isn't too great now, but great to see the Broncs win and well done to all the winners today.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) I could be wrong but I heard the retiring of the #7 Jersey was just for tonight's match as a way of honouring Johns. Agree tonight on Chelsea, they should win for sure. Typical is the way with me though that I've tried to find different ways of betting and took a Chelsea Clean Sheet @ 2.20. Cech, Carvalho, Terry, there conceded goal against West Ham (which Cech really should have saved!) was the first time they had conceded a Premier League goal in over 10 games, so I'll look for them to get back to those ways tonight.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) And in case net is not working by tomorrow I will post the bets I've decided on. I think Cowboys will win but not sure by how much etc. Regardless, Matty Bowen has scored in all games this year bar the Dragons match and he's scored in all the home games this year. Matt Bowen anytime scorer @ 2.20 Centrebet Not quite as outstanding a bet as Brett Stewart but I still feel Bowen would score more than half the time if we played this match over and over.

I think the retiring of the number 7 was just for tonight Well played by the Broncos, only they could back up like that from Friday, true professional outfit and reason why they are the defending champs

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Can't believe how popular these NRL threads are this year! Simply awesome stuff people, keep it going. I find myself spending so much time dedicated to the ESL that I dont get time to follow the NRL.

Bad Tips' date='sorry to all :$[/quote'] Keep your chin up Jumbo, never doubt your own ability or shy away from posting your tips on here. People will listen to your judgement but ultimately it is their decision/money to follow you or not. :ok Keep it up folks :clap

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd)

crouch,where did you take chelsea to keep a cleansheet? i took 10pts nadal tb Federer @1.53 1pt nadal/chelsea @2.25 1pt nadal/ Draw-HT-Chelsea-FT @6.66
Sincere apologies for the very late and post-dated reply, but unfortunately my net doesn't like to work. The clean sheet bet (I actually only got 2.14 in the end) was with betfair. betfair offer clean sheet markets for all Premier League games. Centrebet also offer the market, and do so for some of the other major European leagues, but were only offering 1.90 for a Chelsea clean sheet. Quite a shame Chelsea couldn't do the business as Nadal was superb.

Gotta say mate that I had the exact same feeling about 1hr out from kick off (was going to post but no net, and fortunately had no bet on the game). It was really the type of game that was made for a Broncos reply, but as you say, hindsight is easy. Lockyer play in the halfback role was pretty interesting too. It might or might not be for the Knights game only - will be interesting in the future anyway.

Re: NRL Rugby - Round 6 (April 21st - 23rd) Thanks RugbyLad and CP for the encouragement, still does'nt take that bad feeling away,it's funny leading into both those matches my bad luck charm in my old man showed up and said when the Eels were up "Bulldogs will win this and the Broncos will dick the Knights"I hate when my old man comes over and sez that, usually he's right,it pisses me off,but oh well. As for the game tonight,it's really hard to pick I still rate Souths as a big chance tonight, but will post later as I really would like to end the weekend with a win. Were'nt Chelsea crap last night! Still got the Draw in the Getafe match and the Espanyol match as well as Villareal to beat Barcelona, who were paying a massive $12 at kick off this morning,so still a good return but Chelsea were shite.Man United should'nt slip up from here. If anyones listening the Nuggets and Golden State in the NBA today are very good value,Golden State is paying $6 and Denver is paying $4,might put something on those ones,G State has won their last 5 against the Mavs and Denver will give the Spurs a decent match today also, both sides have massive starts as well, but anyway i'll be back with a tip on Souths later.
