Cheers No, when I am behind, I will just post the Top 3 for the previous days. Then when I get to the present day, I will post the full table. It should be there now and I am sure I will be able to update these more frequently to avoid dissapointment. P.S. Excellent work from you getting 4/4 and everyone else the past few weeks. Re: Lay Of The Day - Latest tables Objection!! ~ No wasting my breath;) Stewart can you just clarify the ruling on the SP's please and whats acceptable and whats disallowed. As you know recently i have picked two horses, both were 4/1 forecast price in the Racing Post the night before racing, one won at 6/1 and the other lost at 16/1, the winner gets counted and the loser doesnt? What is the cut off point you go by as the origional rules stated 5/1 maximum lay price. I know we dont want guys laying 33/1 rags but if they are forecast much shorter then what can we do about it? Not bothered either way but it would be nice to know how you decide whats ok and whats not. Re: Lay Of The Day - Latest tables Excuse me for butting in, but I have an idea that 'should' work here. When posting a lay, I think we should display the 'F/cast price i:e The Racing Post price, plus the price on 'Betfair' at the time of posting. Then it should make things clearer. If in the instance of a big drift, i:e if laying at an origional 4/1 and it drifts to 16/1, then it should still count as a lay, and a bloody good lay as of laying at value ( not fair to be penalised as a no bet for good judgement!! ). If this lay then goes and wins, then you should lose 16 points. If on the other hand it gets backed from 4/1 into Evens, then goes and win, you should lose 1 point. I think as long as you lay at an original 5/1 (6.0) or under at the time of posting at both sp and betfair prices, then no matter what the price ends up it should count. Just my thoughts, and thanks again Stewart for the time and effort you put in.

Just need a ruling as i always look for something i think will drift to get value, the SP's are nowhere near a true reflection of the actual lay. Waste of time posting if I'm not sure if its going to count. I suppose the problem is if some guys dont put the betfair price up then does that get kicked out, its a difficult one but i think a decision needs to be made. At the end of the day its a bit of fun and the admin is hard enough anyway for stewart without making it worse.

Re: Lay Of The Day - Latest tables I think it's fair to make a rule that states you must post The racing Post price, and the Betfair price at the time of posting. As if the RP price is 3/1 and on Betfair it's drifted out to 10/1, then it's obviously unfancied by somebody and therefore will attract the sheep that follow. 'If' we erase that from happening, then the cream will always rise to the top as it will be all to our own judgement, then if they drift, it's one of those things. That's what I feel anyhow, but I'm happy to go along with anything that makes sense.

I will ask Zulu if he can sort that out when he has a spare moment. When the thread originally started, I tried to make it easier for posters by not asking them to quote the Betfair price. I did this because not anyone could access the Betfair price. For this reason, I asked people to quote the forecast price. I then went on to say that as long as you stated the forecast price, and that was within the price range, then I would count the lay. This would ensure that the layers intentions were correct but they could obviously not do anything about an unexpected drift. Another problem with posting the Betfair price is for those, like me, that need to post the night before. The lay prices are often very un-realistic at this time. I will add to this in 1/2 an hour and discuss it with everyone but I need to go out at the moment. Stewart :ok :ok

Because I was so far behind, I was rushing them a wee bit so wouldnt be surprised if I didnt count one when you quoted the price. Basically, do you think it would work if I asked you to quote the Betfair price at time of posting if possible OR quote the forecast price and providing the forecast is within the price range I will count the lay. Does anyone have any better ideas, should I just set an SP price and not count anything above it :ok :ok

I suppose if we insist they quote the RP forecast and its 5/1 or below or the Betfair price then its gets counted nomatter what the SP becomes. I have not always included the RP price because i wasnt aware we had to but will do so in the future, my apologies for that but would never try to lay a 16/1 shot believe me, been there, done that!
