Jeonbuk have now reached the final of the AFC Champions League, where they are up against Syrian team Al Karama in a two-legged tie to be played on the 1st and 8th of November. One of the most prolific scorers in the last season of the former national league (14 goals in 23 appearances), Mrdja was also the last ever goal-scorer in the old league, notching the golden-goal winner for Perth in its 1-0 grand final win over Parramatta in April 2004. Before suffering a major knee injury just prior to the Hyundai A-League 2005/06 season, Mrdja scored hat-tricks in the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship Australian Qualifying Tournament (in a 4-0 win over Adelaide) and in the 2005 Pre-Season Cup (3-1 v Queensland) Sydney FC v Perth Glory Sunday 29 October, 5.00pm *AEDT* (4.00pm AEST (QLD), 4.30pm ACDT, 2.00pm AWST) Aussie Stadium, Sydney Sydney FC Squad: 1.Clint BOLTON (gk), 2.Iain FYFE, 3.Alvin CECCOLI, 4.Mark RUDAN (Captain), 6.Ufuk TALAY, 8.Ruben ZADKOVICH, 9.David ZDRILIC, 10.Steve CORICA, 11.Sasho PETROVSKI, 14.Alex BROSQUE, 15.Terry MCFLYNN, 20.Justin PASFIELD, 21.Nikolai TOPOR-STANLEY, 22.Matthew BINGLEY, 27.Joel THEISSEN. Bolton has played in every minute of every match so far (33 matches) for Sydney FC since its first match in Round 1 2005/06, including the Hyundai A-League 2006 Grand Final victory over Central Coast Mariners. Only two other players, Hyuk-Su Seo (Queensland Roar - 30 matches) and Darren Bazeley (New Zealand Knights - 30 matches) have played in every minute of every match for their respective clubs since the commencement of the Hyundai A-League.

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th Key omissions for the week NZ Knights: NIL Melbourne: Kevin Muscat - Out suspended and will be missed but Melbourne should be able to cover him easily agisnt the Knights Necastle Jets: NIL Adelaide: Nathan Burns – Has been brilliant past few weeks and will be a big loss Angelo Costanzo - Also been brilliant in the heart of Adealide's midfield and defence and he too will be a big loss Queensland Roar: Simon Lynch - Missed last weeks game as injured before game, will be a loss as the Roar's leading goalkicker with three Dario Vidosic - Youngster who has scored 2 goals for the Roar and will be missed CC Mariners: Andrew Clark - Will be out for two weeks with a mdeical ligament injury Sydney FC: Jeremy Brockie - Will be a small loss in my opinion, but went ok last week Mark Milligan - Will be big loss to the team as provides stability Perth Glory: Jason Petkovic - Out for season with a broken leg and will be a big loss Simon Colosimo - Out with hamstring for 4 weeks and huge loss to the Glory Adelaide is probably the team affected most by missing players this week as they lose two stars of their team.

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th New Zealand vs Melbourne Early kick off at 5pm Australian time so if your betting on this dont forget. Its top vs bottom on the ladder here and if recent form is anything to go by then Melbourne hsould have a big victory here. Melbourne have won 8 of 9 matches this year while New Zealand have only won 1, but have lost their past 7 in a row. Before last weekend where they scored 2 past Adelaide, they had only scored 1 goal in 8 games so goals are very tough to come by for them and they basically have got nothing up forward while Melbourne themselves are averaging 2 goals a game overall, but interestingly they average more goals away than at home. Melbourne are yet to lose a game at home also, but enough of the stats. As far as team sheets go, New Zealand who made 6 changes to its squad last week, look likely to stick with that same team this week against Melbourne. They finished the match well against Adelaide last week and Melbourne will make the long trip overseas, however these two did meet in New Zealand way back in Round 3 which Melb won 3-0. Melbourne will miss captain Kevin Muscat which is a huge loss considering he is their captain and is also one of the best players in the league, his form has been one of the main reasons of Melbournes rise to the top this year, but Steve Pantelidis will replace him and ive been very impressed by this guy so far this season. New Zealand shouldnt cause the Melbourne defence too many concerns so if Muscat was going to miss a game then this would be the best one. I favour Melbourne here. As Melbourne are very short at $1.36 its not worth taking so i will look for better value. I like the Melb/Melb HT/FT as Melbourne are a very strong starter and have lead at halftime in 5 of their 9 matches this year. Thats paying $1.90. I will also look at backing Melbourne on the -1 Handicap but Centrebet dont have that listed on their site yet so i will have to wait. Archie Thompson to score first will be a longshot option too but thats also not listed. I will update as soon as it is, most likely tommorow knowing centrebet :@ Pick Melb/Melb at $1.90 - (5/10) Pick Melbourne Handciap of -1 at ?? - (4/10) - TBA or the ads25 longshot of: Pick Archie Thompson to Score First at ?? - (2/10) - TBA

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th Newcastle vs Adelaide Am I seeing things? Are Adelaide paying $2.55 to win this or is that a mistake?? Adelaide have won their past 3 games and have been in terrific form, they are the only team to have beaten MElbourne who have 8 wins from 9, and they knocked off the Central Coast 3 weeks ago which was a brilliant performance. They are getting alot of players back from injury or suspension now too so they will only get stronger. Newcastle were having a terrible season up until 2 weeks ago, they had not won a game in 7 matches and actually sacked their coach, in comes stand-by coach Gary van Egmond and things have turned around with 2 wins in a row which is perhaps why the odds for Adelaide are out a bit? On paper Newcastle actually have a pretty good team but they just dont seem to work well together. Columbian import Milton Rodriguez is a fantastic player, Jade North is an up and coming star of the future and playing in great form, Vaughan Coveny is playing very well while Joel Griffiths, Steven Old, Nicky Carle and Paul Okon are all champion players. So they have a good side Newcastle, for those of who that those names mean nothing to they are all very good players so Adelaide will have their work cut out, but Adelaide also have a great side and they didnt win last years minor premier for no reason. Carl Veart returned to goal scoring form last week while players such as Miachel Valkanis, Greg Owens, Travis Dodd, Spangnuolo Ross Aloisis and the very impressive Bobby Petta on the wing, Adelaide probably have the list with the most depth in the league. And if those names arent enough they also have Rob Corwaite & Shen Qu back in the team and they are the teams best players almost. This should be a ripper of a game with some great players on show, but i will be taking Adelaide here. At $2.55 i just cant let that value go against one of the leagues best teams. Dont get me wrong, Newcastle will put up a good show but it will be Adelaide that ultimately wins. Also worth noting is that Adelaide thrashed the Jets 5-1 last time they met 7 weeks ago and overall Adelaide have won every game they have played away at the Jets, Adelaide also have a 3-0-1 record against them also so they have the form. Both teams are capable of scoring alot of goals so over 2.5 looks value also but centrebet dont have this market up yet, so i will update at a later stage when its up. Pick Adelaide to WIN at $2.55 - (6/10) Pick OVER 2.5 Goals at ?? - (6/10) - TBA or the ads25 longshot of: Pick Correct score of 1-2 at $9.50

Melbourne has great away form and score freely. They average just under 3 goals a game against the Knights. The Knights have good home form this season only conceding 5 goals in total and three of those were against Melbourne, which is quite good for a team that struggle to score, yet alone win a game.

Melbourne score most of their goals in the first 15m of each half, but then again they can score anytime really. The Knights have yet to score in the first half, and concede more in the second half.

The Half-Time/Full-Time Melbourne/Melbourne looks a good bet on these stats alone.

Melbourne are missing Kevin Muscat who is their leading goal scorer, albeit majority of those goals were penalties. The Knights have an unchanged team from the one that lost 4-2 to Adelaide last week.

The Knights are back home after 3 tough games away and they always play their best football at home, at least defensively they do. Melbourne has had two tough games against Adelaide and Sydney, the latter in wet, tough, slogging conditions and they may be a little weary from that. Having said that, Melbourne are clearly a better side than the Knights and should win this quite comfortably. The Victory has taken all before them this season and have a commanding h2h record against the Knights. I expect them to win by at least 2 or 3 goals, and am steering away from the short odds for the win to try and find some value alternatives. I am going to try a couple of correct scorelines at good odds and some multibets for the round.

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th Well I'm going to dive straight in here and back Queensland @ 2.25 centrebet. My ratings have them well clear, granted they have their best striker out but 2.25 still seems great value to me. Queensland only conceded one goal at home and scored 8, with Central Coast losing 4 of their 5 away matches. Queensland really do look excellent value here. :ok I'm also backing Under 10.5 Corners in the New Zealand v Melbourne match as my corner ratings have this quite low. 10pts on Queensland @ 2.25 Centrebet 10pts on Under 10.5 Corners (NZ v Melbourne) @ 1.87 Sportingbet

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th

NZ have a good defence and it can be a difficult place to travel. As such I'm going to be taking the draw on the handicap (Victory -1) @ $3.75 on Centrebet.
True Oscar NZ Knights home form reads... 0-0 - Jets 1-0 - Adelaide 0-3 - Melbourne 0-1 - Mariners 0-1 - Sydney Only two goals total conceded against, Adelaide, Mariners and Sydney which is fair when you consider it like that. Melbourne should score at least 2 one would think, but who knows, Queensland showed last week that strange things can happen.

Good assessment in your A League venture and agree to some extent but I am a little wary of the Mariners as last season they were one of our better sides and they appear to be coming back to some of that form lately, with 2 wins on the trot. It took them a few games to even score hence the early losses, but after they scored their first goal they have been scoring a goal every game since, thanx in part to Damian Mori and improved offence. Their defence has been very sound except for one or two games and they are a chance IMO. Queensland are good at home though too as you say, and this is second game in a row at home and last week's loss may also help them refocus on the job at hand. Still not sure which way I am going with this one that's why I have taken a 4 team combo with both sides, as both are good odds and only need melb/Adel/Syd to do the rest :dude Your Under 10.5 corners bet looks a good one too as melbourne seem to simply attack enough to win the game and wouldn't expect too many corners. Cheers :cheers

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th Hi guys, the Melbourne into Adelaide combo looks the goods here I think the Jets will have a very large come down after last weeks surprising result and the Knights are just plain crap, I am going to stake a bit of money on some side markets here for a bit of fun, so: Highest Scoring Half of the Match: Tip: First Half 3 points @ $2.85 Melbourne is coming off a high will be keen to stitch this one up early and give Byrnes and Allesandro some good time on the pitch, also basing this tip on their last meeting where Melbourne put three quick ones past the knights, also this season the Knights have had a tendancy to keep a clean sheet in one half. First Goalscorer: Tip: Adrian Caceres 4 points @ $19.00 Caceres has copped a bit of a bad rap over the past few weeks but has continued to be a ball magnet all over the park, he is about due for a goal soon aswell and with Archie playing captain I can see much of Melbournes drive coming from out wide on the left from Fred giving Caceras a good chance of latching onto a square ball or cut back to the top of the 18yard. Also I would not be surprised if Brebner starts on the pine given his midweek distractions and with Muscat out Caceras should step up. Now that I have thought about it Melbourne might not be a wise move for high stakes tonight, they have only had one training session this weeks after a physical match last week, alot of the clubs focus has been on the fans and the troubles that occured in Sydney. Coupled with Muscat out and Brebners midweek gambling problems and a change in structure that could see Melbourne play a flat back four for the first time this season, this might be one to sit and watch with some small stakes for interest. I'm confused now, sticking with Caceres and first half but might stay away from the straight out.

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th

Adelaide at $2-55 is over the odds whichever way you look at it! :loon
That's strange, right beejay? Do I miss something here? maybe because adelaide will be without 2 important player? As for Melbourne, i'm thinking about under 2 3/4 goal. With NZ will not score (i hope..) and their 'brilliant' defense i think it will be the best best for this match. What do you think?

$2.55 is a little high for Adelaide, but i think the reason they are at $2.55 is because Newcastle have won their past 2 under a new manager an on paper they have quite a decent team but they just cant gel together on the pitch. However new manager Gary van Egmond looks like he is getting the best out of them which could be an issue for Adelaide to overcome. Adelaide have a far superior side to Newcastle with great depth, they miss only Fernando Rech who is one of their best players, but the strong depth means they have an adequate replacement for him and there is no way i would let value of $2.55 slip away. Dont attack it with high stakes though :ok

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th

I've taken a round multi too: Victory-Adelaide-Draw-Sydney Decided to go with the draw based on the fact the Roar and Mariners have drawn 5 times in their 6 meetings. Good luck to all involved this weekend.
Best of luck with your multibet here, what price did you get it at Oscar? Personally i dont like large multi's as theres so much that can go wrong but if the price is good on that i would be keen to put small stakes on it

Newcastle have won their last 2 games after a winless stretch dating back to last season so confidence will be high, but they have only won the one home game in their last 8, and that was against the bottom of the table Knights. Adelaide appear to have a good away record but the fact is they have only scored the one goal away and that was the strike that one the game for them against Melbourne last week.

Adelaide are capable of scoring in every time range in the game, especially in the first 30 minutes of each half. The Jets can concede early in the game, and towards the end of each half. An early Adelaide goal is on the cards within 30 minutes can be gleaned from the above figures.

Adelaide are boosted by the return of Qu and Cornthwaite, but will really miss Nathan Burns up front and Angelo Costanzo down back. Newcastle have the services of Paul Okon who is returning from injury and he will add more stability to the Jets defence.

This is a danger game for Adelaide with the Jets aiming for three straight and having the quality on the pitch to cause some danger. Carle has been brilliant for the Jets lately, and along with Griffiths and Bridge they are capable of scoring here and causing some problems if Adelaide take them too easily. Qu is a welcome Addition to Adelaide and will offset the loss of Burns and make their attack all the more impressive. I believe Costanzo is Adelaide’s biggest loss as he has been the stability in the midfield/back half and he will be sorely missed.

While I believe Newcastle is some chance tonight I am a bit like Ads and can’t resist the $2-55 on offer for Adelaide, it is way over the odds. Adelaide are a better side and I don’t think the jets will get hammered this time and think there will only be a goal or so in it. I am hopeful of Adelaide getting away to a good start and am opting for them HT:FT. BET

ADELAIDE STRAIGHT OUT TO WIN @ $2-55

ADELAIDE/ADELAIDE HT:FT DOUBLE @ $4-50

ADELAIDE CORRECT SCORE 2-1 @ $10:00

OVER 2.5 GOALS @ $1-93

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th

That's strange, right beejay? Do I miss something here? maybe because adelaide will be without 2 important player? As for Melbourne, i'm thinking about under 2 3/4 goal. With NZ will not score (i hope..) and their 'brilliant' defense i think it will be the best best for this match. What do you think?
Possibly, and the fact that Adelaide have only scored once this season away from home :loon Hopefully that will change tonight! The Jets had a good win against Queensland last week and their defence is starting to play better, so maybe the bookies are showing them some respect, as i hope Adelaide do as they outscore them by one goal. :dude Something in my head told me last night that melbourne would win 3-0, but then the fella in the other side of my head said 2-0, so I have backed both cos they are good odds. From what Miguel has said a little eariler, there may be problems in bictory land this week, and they may just go through the motions and just opt for the win, and not the kill. have to wait and see i suppose. Under 2 3/4 is a chance, but so is over. I am not too sure really, I was thinking to Melbourne to score at least two goals, and hopefully 3. Hope that helps, because i don't want to decide for you. go with what your instincts tell you and i will cheer it on for you :ok

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th I can't see the knights scoring tonight at all, they are shite at the moment. :D I think Victory will give them a good spanking over there:spank I see them breaking down the defence more so in the second half rather than the first...IMO it would be a good bet to have the second half having more goals scored. currently avaialable on centrebet @ $2.25:eek

Best of luck with your multibet here, what price did you get it at Oscar? Personally i dont like large multi's as theres so much that can go wrong but if the price is good on that i would be keen to put small stakes on it
As long as they keep winning Ads it is a good little sidebet to have to keep an interest over the whole round for low stakes :ok

Re: Australian A League Round 10 - 27th/29th I think everyone agrees that the knights perform better at home defensively so I can't see this match being any different. I thik everyone also agrees that Melbourne have far more class on paper than the knights. IMO I feel that nevin will use the same tactics that he has all season re: attacking options. His star striker Rodriguez is out for the season so is Devine ( Worst player in the A League IMO he is shite). They are playing hickey (fast & has no skills) & Casey (Don't really know much about him)up front, who are not known strickers. IMO I think they will defend for as long as they can & try to sneak a goal playing long ball tactics against the run of play.
