AndyT
Re: Super Yankee Long Shot HT/FT Hi Chris read the whole thread and I was very impressed with your results. I was wondering have ever considered the bet of half time lead and fail to win. This bet is available with paddypower but I'm not sure about other places. Teams who meet your selection process seem to generally priced between 9.5 and 10.5. Although the prices and winning payout are lower the target an away win at full time would also be a winning result. So with your thread in mind I have done a 10p canadian bet for this weeks carling cup matches. The criteria I used for picking the teams was similar to yours in that I looked for teams that are closely matched in the betting. FleetFanatic
Re: Super Yankee Long Shot HT/FT The top 4 English divisions, 46 matches if a full fixture list. So if we took those 46 matches, that's 9 of these bets, with a match left over. At these stakes, that's £23.40. Any 2 on the same bet is almost money back (£22.50) I'm thinking of doing it on an even smaller stakes basis - Even penny stakes would net £10,000 if it ever hit a 5 out of 5. Premiership to Conference, plus 4 Scottish Leagues. That is, if a full fixture list, 58 English matches & 21 Scottish matches 79 matches, plus a random fixture from somewhere, making 80 matches. That would be 16 bets = at penny stakes :lol that's still only £4.16. Could be like the pools, where every week, the fixtures are listed 1 to 80 & I group the same numbers together, regardless of teams. Thoughts? Lardonio
Re: Super Yankee Long Shot HT/FT The chances of nailing 5 out of 5 are about 1 in a million, but cheap fun and you never know. More fun than buying a lottery ticket.
FleetFanatic
Re: Super Yankee Long Shot HT/FT Indeed.....even for 1p stakes: each double returns £2.25 each treble returns £33.75 each four-fold returns £506.25 each 5-timer returns £7593.75 I think I can afford to "risk" £4.16 on this bit of fun - hell I may even cover even more matches! :lol Edit: actually to cover 80 matches would be 32 bets (HT 1 FT X) & (HT 2 FT X) - still worth an £8.32 punt IMO

FleetFanatic
Re: Super Yankee Long Shot HT/FT Perming EVERY fixture would be far too expensive, if you meant a FULL perm. What I mean is taking the matches, say in alphabetical order of the home team, and allocating a number 1 to 80. Each week do the same groups of 5 numbers, no matter what the teams are. For example, you might decide that one group was matches 6, 23, 37, 78, 80. In effect it is what you do now, but covering every match spread over 16 groups of 5, for smaller stakes. It would certainly make for a bit of fun. How about sifting out some matches first? I would suggest not including the 5 games with the shortest odds for a home win as they would (should) have less chance of being a winner. I dont know the criteria for EvilChris's selections but they all appear to be games where the home side is 2.5(ish) which suggests a close game (from the compilers point of view). If you make your selections from the games where the home side is between 2.25 - 2.70 you would have 21 games to choose from this week. knock one off and you have four sets of 5 as opposed to 16.
