Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Just 1 more bet for me going into day 2. 10pts A.Cook Top England 1st Innings Bat 2.06 Betfair This market is now a match between Collingwood (109*) and Cook (101*). Nobody else is going to have enough time to outscore these 2 from here on in. Ali Cook has ridden his luck in this innings having been dropped twice and wrongly given in when he was caught behind but taken full advantage of it. He's naturally an opening batsman so he'll be used to going out to bat 1st thing and if he outlasts Collingwood he'll be top scorer. Over evens on a coin-flip doesn't come around very often but I'll have some of it here. I'm tempted to take the 13.5 on offer on a Pakistan win because I don't hink we are over the hill and away yet but I'll wait 1 more day to see how they begin their innings. I can't see the price dropping too much unless they skittle us.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Done more market scouring and have got another one for this morning! 10pts Lay England 1st innings runs 500 & Over 1.90 Betfair 309-3 overnight but only Ian Bell to come in terms of proper batting. Apparently Geraint Jones can bat but we don't see it very often and following him is our long tail. The new ball is due straight up so if Sami and Gul can make a couple of quick breakthroughs with that England will struggle to make 500.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Hmm, this test match needs rescuing for me. 4pts down on settled bets thus far. :sad Hopefully these 2 can aid the recovery. 10pts Pakistan's 1st Innings runs Over 329.5 5/6 William Hill Pakistan go into day 3 on 66-3 needing another 264 to cover this bet. They have Mohammad Yousuf at the crease currently and he looks in good nick and there's amples of batting to come. Inzi, Afridi, Razzaq and Akmal are all to come yet so I don't think it's beyond the tourists to make 330. Another thing in Pakistan's favour is England's weak bowling lineup. We've only gone into this match with 4 frontline bowlers and once Pakistan get through Harmison and Hoggard it's Monty Panesar and nothing then. Yousuf's shown us it's still a great pitch to bat on and I can't see Pakistan not making 330. 10pts M.Yousuf's 1st Innings Runs Over 57.5 5/6 Ladbrokes Yousuf made batting look remarkably easy in his 20* on day 2 and gave every indication he's going to be tough to get out. He only needs another 38 runs to see this bet become a winner and the way he's started his innings I think he could be at the crease for quite a while. His side are in a spot of bother and as a senior player for Pakistan he'll know he needs to step up to the mark. 3 Englishmen made centuries on this wicket and I think Yousuf making 58 is a good bet.

Much better start to day 3. Yousuf moves onto 59* bringing this bet in :) . Now get out Yousuf so that Inzi can outscore you :unsure

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series

Hope u enjoyed the cricket today mate' date=' last few bets gone a bit better. Will try and find something tonihgt[/quote'] Never went in the end. Work put paid to that idea :sad . Saw a bit of it on the box though and England are looking to bat Pakistan out of the game rather than go out and win it. Can't see anything other than a draw from here. I doubt England will declare overnight, they'll keep on batting until they are all out which will leave Pakistan chasing 350-400 in 70-80 overs which won't happen unless they stick Afridi up to open and he starts teeing off. Last couple of bets have come in putting me ahead for the test match now so I'm happy enough with that. I'll have a look for any bets later this evening but with the outright match heading for a draw there may not be many.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Hmmmm - Pakistan currently 5-1 chasing 380. England have a sniff, ball is currently doing a lot and hopefully Monty can get some turn/uneven bounce etc off some cracks. Fingers crossed from me anyway

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series This match is fizzling out into a mundane draw. Just over 20 overs left and with us needing 6 wickets I think we'll see the 1st "official" early finish to a test match in this country when we have 15 overs left. Weird decision by England to bat for 35 mins this morning. The 40 runs they made have made not a jot of difference but the 10 overs could have come in handy. Seems like we don't have enough confidence to restrict a weakened batting lineup to 350 in the 4th innings of a match.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series I went today. Cricket was ok. Sun bathing was better tho. Took 365 for some money betting 101-110 on the 2nd session runs at 6/1 when they had 71-80 and 81-90 as there favourites at 7/2. Beautiful overound of about 140% but still won, hehe! Paid 4 pimms and entrance at least. Anyway pointless decision to bat on today. We could have really done with the 2nd new ball for the last ten overs. All day Pakistan batsmen weren't taking any risks. 330 was too much to get in one day, if they did look like they may get it we could have put the shutters down with the 7-2 offside field bowling 3 foot outsdide off. Strauss' decision didnt make sense last night or this morning. Vaughan would have been more killer approach especially towards the end of day 4. Well done kev, good test match 4u, lets hope Old Trafford gets a result

The weather looks fine. The pitch is expected to be fast and bouncy. Something that may appear to suit Harmison and Mahmood should he play but can also help Pakistan's spinners. I'll put up my outright bet for now and will look at the side markets whilst playing poker. 10pts Pakistan to win 2nd Test 7/2 Totesport The weather for the 1st 4 days of this test match looks good and although Old Trafford is known a traditionally a draw ground there have been 3 results there in the last 5 test matches. 1 of the 2 draws was the epic Ashes test last year which was as close to a result as you can be and that was with a days rain. England have already released Jamie Dalrymple from their squad so they are going into this test match with an extremely long tail. With no Liam Plunkett for this test the only selection problem left is whether to play the swing of Jon Lewis or the seam and potential reverse swing of home boy Sajid Mahmood. I think they'll go with Mahmood personally. Pakistan welcome back vice-captain Younis Khan for this match but will go into the match with the same bowling attack. Khan will strengthen their batting lineup considerably but they will need to bowl better having only taken 17 wickets at Lords. With the expected extra bounce in the wicket that might suit Gul and Sami more than at Lords and Afridi and Kaneria will love the bounce. England have never beaten Pakistan in a test match at Old Trafford and with Pakistan having a much longer and stronger batting lineup I can't see us winning this time. I had Old Trafford down as a Pakistan win before the series began and I'm sticking to that. If rain doesn't interfere then I can only see a Pakistan win.

5pts M.Trescothick Top England Bat 4.6 Expekt Marcus Trescothick enjoys batting at Old Trafford. He averages 56.37 at Old Trafford which is much higher than his career average of 44.71. Having had failures in both innings at Lords he'll be eager to contribute here particularly with England's batting lineup so small. He made 63 and 41 here last year and I can see him scoring a few runs in this test too. 5pts Inzamam Top Pakistan Bat 7/2 Blue Square Inzamam is another who enjoys batting at Old Trafford. Last time Pakistan were over here Inzamam hit 114 and 85 and averages 75 at Old Trafford in his 2 test matches. He was very hard to get out at Lords where only a ball from Plunkett which Inzi lost sight of managed to do the trick. He's been a World class batsman for a number of years and I think we are getting a more than fair price here. 10pts Pakistan 1st Innings Lead 11/10 Betfred Pakistan would have had a 1st innings lead at Lords but for a number of dropped catches. You would have to think they won't drop so many here. If that wasn't enough to convince you to back this, Pakistan have strengthened their batting lineup with the return of Younis Khan whereas England's gets weaker albeit only in the tail. Pakistan have century makers right down to number 8 and all have made runs on the tour. With England once you've got past Bell at 6 there's not much else. One more bet before the test begins. 10pts K.Akmal's Performance Pts 106&Over 5/6 Bet365 Pts are scored as follows: 1pt per run, 10pts per catch & 25pts per stumping. Classy wicket-keeper batsman is often involved in the game. He bats at number 8 but as he showed at Lords that doesn't stop him from making runs. He's also excellent with the gloves and in this country wicket-keepers pick up lots of catches of thin edges. Pakistan also play 2 spinners so stumpings are always a possibility particularly with Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood, 2 batsmen who like to use their feet to the spinners, playing for the opposition. He's capable of knocking these off with the bat but he will get catches too and I don't think the spread is high enough. Overs for me.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Pakistan 93-4 at lunch. You would have to say advantage England but this pitch is doing plenty already. I wouldn't want to be batting 4th on this one. Akmal opening didn't help the performance bet as he was out for 4.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series Hmmm, as 1st days go, for England that was superb. For my bank balance it was shite. Still, I've found a couple of bets for day 2 which will hopefully help me out of this hole :hope 10pts England 1st Inns Runs 410&Over 10/11 Boylesports England will resume the test on 168-2 so they need another 242 runs to bring this bet home. They made over 500 in the 1st innings in the previous test match and do have a good record of scoring big 1st innings in this country. The Pakistani bowling attack still looks weak. There has been talks of the pitch being a bit lively but I think Pakistan's demise in their 1st innings was as much the fact they don't play on these pitches very often as it was demons in the pitch. England have Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen at the crease and Lords centurions Paul Collingwood and Ian Bell to come still. England will look to bat the whole of day 2 and by doing that they will bat Pakistan right out of the game and pass 410 in the process. 10pts A.Cook's 1st Inns Runs Over 94.5 5/6 Bet365 Cook begins day 2 on 65 not out. He hit a century in the 1st innings at Lords and has looked in excellent touch in his innings in this test match. With 49 overs of England's 1st innings gone there won't be a new ball to face for at least another 31 overs which in theory would mean the bowlers shouldn't get much help until then. A guy of Cook's undoubted class can score another 30 runs in these circumstances and then look to make his century and go on and post a big total.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series One more to attack. 10pts S.Harmison 2nd Test MOM 6/4 Boylesports Having taken 6-19 in Pakistan's 1st innings the big man must be well ahead in the MOM shortlist. It will take something extraordinary like a double hundred to deny him of the award and I'm prepared to take the chances that nobody scores such an innings. Ripping the Pakistani batting order up is what has set England up in such a good position and I'm sure that will be rewarded with the MOM award.

Re: England vs Pakistan Test Series

And Cook goes lbw which brings in Geraint Jones who needs to get some runs under his belt. Big wicket this for both parties.
Once I was relying on Geraint Jones I was always going to be in trouble. He is utter shite. If he goes to Australia they may as well just give them the urn and be done with it.
