Weekend Football Bets > 9th - 12th August

Buckle in here we go, pretty much just the "Big 5" leagues still to come but everything else seems to be in action this weekend.

In England the Championship returns with Blackburn v Derby the live Friday night curtain raiser. Oxford U v Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth are live over the weekend and relegated pair Luton and Burnley bring things to a close on Monday night. Leagues 1 and 2 also return along with the National Leagues and there's the little matter of a Manchester Derby in the Community Shield.

In the rest of the UK there's a full programme in Scotland and action in Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

In Europe things get underway in Portugal, The Netherlands and Turkey and there's Coppa Italia action in Italy. Plenty going on elsewhere including the Scandinavian Leagues and Germany's 2nd tier.

Globally we have the conclusions of the Olympic football competitions, Brazil's Serie A and plenty more.

So let's agree that the "not much going on" phase has reached a conclusion and there's plenty for us all to get stuck in to.
