Check out the odds and ratings for the midweek matches in the Championship coming up. Things are heating up at both ends of the table! How are our Championship regulars of @skyblues88, @Kenton Schweppes, and @yossa6133 feeling about the current state of play? Big game for my Cardiff team away to a high-flying Huddersfield too.

Fulham vs Peterborough United

Fulham
Fulham lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield in the last league round after a run of seven league games unbeaten and six wins to go ended and morale suffered. But their home ground is strong, with 10 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses, the best record in the league.

Peterborough United
Peterborough, with just five wins after 31 games, are currently five points behind the safety zone and under pressure to avoid relegation. They have been in poor form for nine league games without a win, following a 1-0 defeat at Derby county in the last round.

Verdict:
The difference between the two teams in terms of strength and form is huge. The 1X2 first odds is 1.36-4.75-8.00, which means support the home team. Fulham should win this game.

Fulham VS Peterborough United
Pick: 1

Huddersfield vs Cardiff

The Championship is becoming a bit exciting again as the season enters its final months and the action intensifies on Wednesday night with a load of fixtures scheduled. High-flying Huddersfield host lowly Cardiff in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off from the John Smith's Stadium. Both teams are keen to keep wracking the points up but for two very contrasting reasons as they compete as opposite ends of the table.

Huddersfield are the surprise package this season. It feels like only yesterday that the Terriers were fighting bravely to stay in the second tier of English football with head coach Carlos Corberan's job in doubt. To be fair to the Huddersfield fans, the majority were keen to see the club stick with him and they have been proved correct. The club are now up to 5th in the table and 5 points off the pace of the automatic promotion places. It's now 13 league games unbeaten for Huddersfield but they're unlikely to win any awards for aesthetics with less than 2.5 goals scored in 5 of their last 6 matches. It's now just 1 loss from the last 12 league games at home but they have drawn 3 of their last 4 home league matches.

Cardiff head into this game with the feeling that the club is turning a corner with interim head coach Steve Morison. The former under-23s head coach has managed to somehow improve league form, blood some youngsters, and completely change our playing philosophy. He might not be to everyone's tastes but he's getting the job done. The Bluebirds are up to 19th position in the table and 15 points clear of relegation. It's just 1 loss from the last 6 league matches but away form is still an issue. Cardiff have only managed to win 1 of their previous 6 away league games. The defence is undoubtedly the biggest area of improvement under Morison with the team keeping 3 clean sheets in their last 5 league matches.

There is no denying the gulf in points achieved so far this season between these two clubs but in terms of current form they are not as far apart. Cardiff are unbeaten against Huddersfield in the last 16 meetings meaning the Yorkshire club haven't tasted victory in this fixture since 2003. Huddersfield have also failed to score in 6 of the last 8 encounters. Could that change here? I'm not sure Cardiff will win but that doesn't mean to say I think Huddersfield will either! A bore draw perhaps?
