PSG vs Manchester United

After an abysmal start of the season, the home side managed to stabilize its form and enter a winning streak. PSG opened the domestic campaign with two straight narrow defeats against Lens and fierce rivals Marseille. It seemed that they simply didn’t have enough time to prepare for new challenges after losing in the Champions League finals against Bayern Munich. Also, the Saints couldn’t count on their star players in that period. However, Thomas Tuchel’s side managed to get back on the winning track with five straight wins, and PSG climbed to the 2nd spot. Kylian Mbappe and the lads have scored ten times in the last two games, while in the previous four occasions, the hosts conceded just once. PSG is full of confidence, and they want to book their first three points in the continental competition.

On the other hand, Manchester United fans cannot be satisfied with displays of their lads. The Red Devils opened the Premier League campaign with a shocking 3:1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team struggled in the next clashes, they tied three victories. However, they fell to a heavy 6:1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur before the international break. Bruno Fernandes and his teammates managed to improve the game somehow last weekend, as they were confident against Newcastle United with a 4:1 victory. Manchester United needs to stabilize its form urgently if they want to be competitive this season.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Even though many vital players will be sidelined for this match for the home side, PSG is still the favorite in this clash. We believe the hosts will keep up where they left off and celebrate a win in this clash.

Goals Market Prediction

Manchester United is capable of scoring against any side, while the defensive work is their primary issue. We don’t need to mention that PSG is a goal machine, and they were incredibly efficient lately. We expect to see an exciting clash and goals in both nets.

Chelsea vs Sevilla

OK, rather than covering just one of the Premier League sides in tonight's Champions League games I'm going to try something new and do a brief preview but covering both teams. First up is the Chelsea versus Sevilla game that is set to kick-off at 8pm BST from Stamford Bridge. These two sides are the favourites to qualify from Group E so this is a chance to give their qualification hopes an immediate boost.

It's the first time these two sides have met in European competition. Chelsea have only managed to win 1 of their last 9 matches against Spanish sides in Europe. It's back-to-back defeats for the Blues in Europe and they've never lost 3 games in a row in European competition. It is only 2 defeats in their last 16 opening Champions League group games. A bizarre statistic is that Frank Lampard will become just the second Englishman after Sir Bobby Robson to manage in two separate Champions League campaigns. Sevilla have won all 3 of their most recent encounters with English clubs. However, they have only won 1 of their last 7 away European ties in England.

I feel this game will give the best indication yet of where this Chelsea team is positioned right now. Lampard knows that if they fail to win then there's still a lot of opportunities left to rectify that but winning here would give them a big chance to top the group. Sevilla are here after winning the Europa League last season and they'll provide a stern test. I can honestly see this ending in a draw.

PSG vs Manchester United

The second match involving a Premier League team is taking place at 8pm BST in Paris where Ligue 1 champions and last season's Champions League losing finalists PSG host Manchester United at the Parc des Prince. Pressure is rising on the Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he brings his team onto French soil for this game that could go a long way to deciding who tops Group H.

PSG will be without a number of key players including Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Mauro Icardi, and Thilo Kehrer. However, Marquinhos and Julian Draxler could return to the team. The French side have won 7 of their last 8 Champions League group stage matches and have averaged 3.2 goals in their last 5 matches. Manchester United are travelling without Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood, and Edinson Cavani. United might not be thriving in the league this season but they have seen an average of 4.5 goals scored per game in their matches.

I think this is going to be a tough game for United to win. They have shown real fragility, especially in defence, this season. Whenever they play big teams though it's a lack of consistency that causes problems. Which United team will turn up? PSG are getting stronger and stronger. A side that boasts the attacking wealth of Angel Di Maria, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe will always be favourites. I fear this could be a dark night for United if they aren't at their best.

Liverpool has huge defensive issues. The Reds will be without the two main defensive players and a doubtful one. Ajax, led by Dusan Tadic, will take advantage of this situation, especially because goalkeeper Adrian is not confident after conceding 9 goals in his two appearances. At the same time, Liverpool has excellent strikers in Salah, Firmino and Mane, as well as Yota. In view of these events, I expect an effective match in Amsterdam. At least four goals must be scored

Open play in every prediction. The two clubs will at least try not to lose today and will first try to secure third place and then claim the best they can in the group. I expect a match of patience, the spaces to be closed and to neutralize each other in the midfield. I will bet on the few goals

Manchester City vs Porto

The first of our two briefer previews for the Champions League matches tonight is the clash between Premier League side Manchester City and Portuguese Primeira Liga club Porto in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Etihad Stadium. It's not been the best of starts to the season for the home side and they face a travelling team that really do struggle on their visits to England.

Manchester City head into this game having not had the best of starts to their league campaign with the Pep Guardiola's men down in 11th place with just 2 wins so far. The Citizens will feel buoyed by the fact they have won both of their previous meetings with Porto and remain unbeaten in the Champions League group stages since September 2018. Porto might have lost just 2 of their last 16 Champions League group stage matches but they haven't got a win on English soil in 20 attempts in European competition. Head coach Sergio Conceicao also knows his team haven't won any of their last four opening group stage games in the Champions League.

It's no surprise that the home team come into this match as heavy favourites. It's a bit of an uncertain time for Manchester City. They don't quite seem to be at their full-flowing best but their 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend was a big win. That could prove to be the catalyst for them to go on a run. Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy, Kevin De Bruyne, and Gabriel Jesus are all absent but I still think City should have enough to dispose of Porto.

Ajax vs Liverpool

The second preview for tonight's matches is an intriguing match-up at 8pm BST when Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax welcome Premier League champions Liverpool to the Amsterdam Arena. In ordinary circumstances, you'd be keen to back the visiting side given their recent record but without their influential centre back Virgil Van Dijk fit how will that affect their chances?

Ajax know that they face a side that is vulnerable right now. Head coach Erik Ten Hag will see an opportunity to put his side in the driving seat by winning this game. The Dutch side will have to break an unfortunate trend for them having won just 1 of their last 7 home games in the Champions League. It's also just 1 win in their last 6 matches against English opponents in European competition. Liverpool will not only be without Van Dijk but also without his defensive partner Joel Matip after he was injured against Everton on the weekend. The Reds are also without a win in their last 3 competitive matches and have lost both of their previous 2 games in this competition.

Well, Liverpool are heavy favourites for this game but I tell you what, it could well be worth backing the home team to cause a shock here. Yes, Jurgen Klopp's side are more than just VVD but he's such a key member of their side. A team like Ajax will punish sides that aren't 100% and this Liverpool side is not 100% right now. I appreciate Liverpool are still likely to win this with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, and Roberto Firmino still involved but I do fancy chucking a cheeky wager on the home team to get something here.
