16 groups and 64 players involved. The good news is we already know the winners groups, which means if we can get the winners of each group there may be some good value here.

1pt E/W D. Gilbert to win Championship League Snooker 25/1 bet365
1pt E/W G. Wilson to win Championship League Snooker 66/1 bet365
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0.5pts E/W J. Perry to win Championship League Snooker 70/1 paddypower
0.5pts E/W L. Brecel to win Championship League Snooker 100/1 betfred
0.5pts E/W T. Ford to win Championship League Snooker 150/1 bet365
0.5pts E/W A. McGill to win Championship League Snooker 150/1 paddypower
0.5pts E/W K. Maflin to win Championship League Snooker 200/1 bet365
0.5pts E/W M. Georgiou to win Championship League Snooker 500/1 boylesports
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0.25pts E.W J. Brown to win Championship League Snooker 1000/1 boylesports

11pts staked here. Plenty of options here as you do need abit of luck in this event. The likes of Trump, Ronnie, Robertson are not going to have it all there own way and there is nowhere near value in anybody shorter than 25/1 here.

A good start to the tournament, although it could have been perfect. Gilbert won 2 and drew 1 of his 3 matches. 2-1 up in the 2nd match but it ended 2-2. Slessor was Trumps main rival in Group 2 though, as expected, and he did indeed beat Jones Wells and Grace to bring in the 15/2 shot. Gilbert goes through also.

Group 3 and Group 9 play tonight. Luca Brecel will be in Group 3 and he is one of the outright picks. I'll leave that group alone but I think it's worth a little outsider bet on Mark Joyce to win Group 9 at 3/1. He is a good player and very underrated. This is a hard group to get out of and I would normally be on Holt but his odds are too short for me. Davis isn't the faster scorer and is more of a grinder. I will take a chance on Joyce

Although I like Brecel today (on the whole) I think it's worth taking Lisowski to win all 3 at such a big price. I expect it to be a 2-horse race and if Lisowski wins the other 2 matches then 9/1 on him beating Brecel is too big.

2pts M. Joyce to win Group 9 3/1 betfred
1pt J. Lisowski to win all 3 matches 9/1 paddypower

Champ League Snooker bets +6.5pts

We have Groups 4 and 12. You can see who is in those groups above. We have Joe Perry, our third outright playing in Group 4 and he is the favourite to win that group so hopefully it will be 3 out of 3 on the outright front.

Perry has quite up and down form, but this whole group is very inconsistent and Perry does have alittle bit of nice form coming into this, beating Neil Robertson and reaching the Quarter Finals of a Players Championship.

In the other group, Kyren Wilson is the big name and is expected to come through with ease really, but I think there could be an outsider do well in that group. I think Alfie Burden and even Feilong have a chance today. I will go with Burden today as a live outsider but I also am going to take a chance on Feilong beating Ryan Day.

2pts A. Burden to win Group 12 8/1 888sport
1.5pts C. Feilong to beat R Day 7/1 888sport

No luck yesterday. Burden was a strange one, on course for going 1-0 up and he touched the white ball and then his head just went for the rest of the day. Feilong was 2-1 up on Day but let him back in to win the 4th to draw. Perry went out lamely and so the first outright casualty.

Groups in action today are 5 and 14. We have another outright in Gary Wilson today and I think he should get through his group. He has done well in the past in the Championship League and won a group to reach the final day in the event. Greene is a player that can turn up on any given day, but i'm going to take Wilson to win all 3 today.

In the other group, I'm not convinced by Mark Selby in this type of platform. I'm happy to take him on with Wenbo. I think O'Connor could be a live outsider also and so I'll take both with small stakes today.

2pts G Wilson to win all 3 5/2 paddypower
2.5pts L. Wenbo to win Group 5 14/5 betfred
1pt J. O'Connor to win Group 5 10/1 betfred

Champ league bets +7pts

Quite the performance from Gary Wilson and Wenbo. Both win all 3 and both only drop 1 frame. O'Connor performed well too and should have beaten Selby really but he still finishes 2nd to Wenbo. Our third outright goes through. +11pts for the day

Another couple of outrights play today in the shape of Georgiou and Tom Ford. To say Georgiou has a tough group would be an understatement with Ronnie O'Sullivan to contend with. Not to mention the talented Chris Wakelin. Hirani can also play. I actually am happy to take on Ronnie though and I think both Georgiou and Wakelin have a chance to win Group 10.

In group 15, I'm happy to rule out Dunn and Burns. Milkins can play, but I'm not sure this is his format. In my opinion it's primed for Tom Ford here and I'll back him to win the group. He is another outright tip so it would be brilliant to get both Ford and Georgiou through today.

1.5pts C. Wakelin to win Group 10 6/1 Coral
0.5pts C. Wakelin to win all his matches 45/1 paddypower
1pt M. Georgiou to win Group 10 9/1 betfred
1pt M. Georgiou to beat Wakelin and Hirani 6/1 paddypower
2pts T. Ford to win all of his matches 15/2 paddypower

Group 1 and 8 play today. Bingham is the star attraction in group 1. I think Bingham will perform well today and I can see him winning all 3. However, I've got Jordan Brown at 1/000 as a huge outsider and I think he can do well today. I think he beats Clarke and possibly Walden too and so I'll have a small punt on him winning the group also, but my bete for the group is for Bingham to win all 3.

In group 8, the group looks much more open and you could make a case for any of the 4 really. I'm going to give a chance to Highfield though. The thing I like about Highfield is he tends to score well and build a break well. Jimmy Robertson is another who scores well, but I think he's alittle inconsistent at the best of times.

2pts S. Bingham to win all his matches 4/1
1pt J. Brown to win group 1 9/1 ladbrokes
1pt L. Highfield to win group 8 3/1 paddypower
0.5pts L. Highfield to win all his matches 22/1 paddypower

Just 4 more players to find for the next round. Bingham got through on his highest break and won 2, drawing 1. That's rather annoying for the bet. The others didn't really perform. Highfield should have won the first match and once he lost that by 3-0 he had no chance really. Jordan Brown could have won the group if he beat Clarke 3-0 like the other 2 players had done, but he pretty much bottled it, so a -5pts for the day (which includes the Brown outright punt)

Looking at today's action, we have groups 7 and 16 to get through. Neil Robertson looks like a banker in his group, but I've always rated Maflin. I'm not going to tip him up to win the group as I already have him as an outright tip, but I'll be hoping he can make it through that.

I also have McGill as an outright bet, but I'm going to also go for him to win the group today. Hawkins can be so hit and miss that the 2/1 on offer looks a solid chance.

2pts A. McGill to win group 7 2/1 betfred
0.75pts A. McGill to win all his matches 12/1 paddypower

0.75pts N. Robertson win all his matches 3-0 paddypower 10/1 paddypower

2 places left to fill the last 16. McGill needed to win his final match against Hawkins but could only manage a draw. Robertson goes out, which is good for the outrights in the next round.

The final 2 groups today are group 6 and 11. Mark Allen plays today and he is in a group that he should dominate really. However, Michael White had a good bit of form pre-corona and I wonder if he could sneak the top spot. The poor record against Allen does put me off alittle though. Bond pushed Allen very close the last time they played and infact Bond went 3-1 up in that match. I'm drawn into the huge price on Bond and I'll take a little outsider punt.

In the other group, I like Sam Craigie today. I think he is a good scorer on his day and he's beaten Carter the last couple of times they've played.

1pt N.Bond to win group 11 9/1 888sport
2pts S. Craigie to win group 6 4/1 paddypower
1.5pts S. Craigie to win the 1st frame in each of his 3 matches 8/1 paddypower

A good day of snooker. Bond somehow found a way to lose the first frame to Allen when it was easier for him to win it. Would have meant he probably would have won the match and not lost it, which ruined his chances of getting anywhere. Craigie though, did the business. Should have won all 3 really after being 2-0 up on Ali Carter but aswell as winning the group, he managed to win the first frame in all 3 matches for an 8/1 winner to add to the 4/1 group win. +19pts for the day

We now have the final 16 for this event and today we're getting straight into the Semi-finals with groups C & D (see above)

We've got Tom Ford in the outrights today attempting to make it to the final group. I think Group C I would have left alone as Ronnie probably wins it easy. Bingham looked abit dodgy in his matches after all, but Craigie looked sharp and I think he is worth a little outsider punt. In Group D, I will hope Ford can see it through and make the final 4. Wenbo looked very good in his group, and O'Donnell didn't look too bad yesterday either but for me it's between Wenbo and Ford for this and I'm not sure the price on Ford to win the group is value

1pt S. Craigie to win Group C 7/1 paddypower
0.5pts S. Craigie to win Championship League event 40/1 paddypower

Champ league bets + 39.5pts

Very unlucky on Craigie yesterday. 6pts, lost just to Ronnie (where he got in first in every frame) and Bingham wins it on the same points on frame difference. He actually beat Bingham too, but Bingham beat Chandler and Ronnie 3-0 to sneak through to the final group. In the other group. Ford was 2-0 up over Wenbo and threw it away to draw 2-2 and never really recovered. Woollaston sneaked in for the group win despite also losing his first match. Thanks to Ford beating O'Donnell. -3.5pts yesterday with Ford also going out.

We know 2 of our final 4 and we'll know the other 2 later tonight as we get Group A and B started. Judd Trump is the big name left in this tournament and you'd have to say it's very likely he goes on to win this group and the tournament with his scoring ability. He has quite a weak group in Day and Hawkins, but I'm hoping Gilbert can spoil his day and nick that group. In the other group I have Brecel and Wilson in the outright market so I'm just happy for either to go through. I think Wilson has been the most impressive this tournament and if he keeps that up he should top this group

2pts J. Trump to win all his matches 5/1 paddypower
1pt G Wilson to win all his matches 8/1 paddypower
1pt R. Day to lose all his matches 11/1 paddypower
1pt 4-fold accy - Trump to beat R.Day / Gilbert to beat Hawkins / Gilbert to beat R.Day / Trump to beat Hawkins - 18/1 paddypower (money back if one loses)

Not the best day, with Gilbert finding a way to fail. I have no idea how he managed to go out last night. Should have won atleast 2 and managed to not even win 1. Luckily atleast Brecel managed to give me some interest in todays very weak looking final group :

S. Bingham
B. Woollaston
R. Day
L. Brecel

I'm hoping Brecel can do the business today but I think Day looks a real threat the way he is playing since changing Cues. It's probably just a mental thing with him, but either way he is playing really well and I'm going to pick out Day as a second option to Brecel today. I'll also take a small outsider punt on Day doing the clean sweep

4pts R.Day to win the group 11/4 betvictor
1pt R. Day to win all his matches 22/1 bet365
1pt accy - S. Bingham to beat L. Brecel / R. Day to beat Woollaston / B. Woollaston to beat Bingham / L. Brecel to beat B. Woollaston 60/1 paddypower
