Just wondering why the prize money for this race - a Class 2 Stakes race is so lucrative? £148k to the winner!! On the same card, the previous race which is a Group 2, the winner gets a meagre £57k.

Doncaster Thursday?

Its what they call a 'sales' race Dan, any horse bought at a particular sale, guessing this one is at a Doncaster Sale, gets automatic entry.

They put a massive pot up to entice buyers to buy their 2yo's here and the weights are set according to the purchase price, so if you but a really cheap 2yo and they turn out to be useful you can mop up in these races. They pay down to 10th place too usually so you get big fields and a competitive race.
