richard-westwood Posted March 10, 2018 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Well that' where we differ .....I don' think my ratings are the be all and end all.....I use them to narrow the race down then look who' the most likely winner from shortlist ........like the grand national .....if I had 4 horses ..... Horse 1 345 Horse 2 344 Horse 3 342 Horse 4 342 Nothing between them but top 2 are carrying 11st 10lbs ....bottom 2 are carrying 10st 3lbs ......you know full well you don't wanna be dragging 11st 10lbs 4 miles ....trends suggest you want to be below 11st ..and time again proven true .......so in this case is back horse 3 and 4 ......that's not lack of judgement its just being flexible and bending to suit this particular race...... I'm sure plenty think my ELO Ratings are so so, but like Richard I use them as a quick analysis guide, but they are only ever a guide.
