Before anyone thinks anything Id never cheat or 'collude' I do okay just playing my game but Id be interested to know if you guys think this kind of scenario is possible or do they have a poker team who can easily suss out the cheaters! Basically could 4 of you go on a 5 player STT and collude together against 1 unknowing opponent and knock him out taking his money? Would Ladbrokes etc suss you out? I played at cash table with my brother and on messanger we were telling each other our cards so we wouldnt run in to each other. Was that bad :eyes ? On laddies if anyone logs in from the same IP or computer as you more than once then you are blocked from sitting at the same table as them - harsh yes fair probably I suppose. Collusion in poker is probably even more evident in RL sometimes. for example in live casino tourneys you will find a lot of regulars going 20%s with each other and softplaying....of course the husband and wives or groups of mates there are hardly likely to take each other out either are they! Basically people are going to collude in poker, that is a fact, no matter where it is or how it is being played. My mate was saying his 'router' (dont know what that is im not a computer kind of guy really :o ) could have a few people all playing on their laptops in the same room and they wouldnt have the same IP addresses so they wouldnt be found out. Jezza Posted June 30, 2005 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Re: Online Collusion They would have different internal IP addresses, but all share the same external one (the one the poker site would see) Pokerstars actually allows multiple connections like that, but the majority of sites will kick everyone but 1 connection off. My mate for one got sent a rebate of 100 dollars and an explanation from a poker site that he had been colluded against and there was his money back! nice one I thought. Also remember when you sign up to a poker site you agree to them checking for collusion in all sorts of ways, including bugging IM conversations now I am sure they dont do that except in the most exceptional circumstances but they have sophisticated ways of catching people that is for sure. They always avoided each other in hands and were chatting in Italian all through the game. When it got down to the final three it was so obvious what was happening. It was only a 10 cent STT though.
