I love Formula 1:cow :cow. Only a one week gap so can't expect any real changes in pace - don't really need it for a good race as the top 4 teams look very evenly matched, except in the critical phases where Honda struggled badly in Bahrain. Williams also look to be a very close 5th in terms of pace and could well could a surprise. Massa and DC have new engines and a 10 place penalty. Fisichella has a new engine but no penalty as he retired during the race. I still think Montoya has some sort of engine problem, from practice and qualifying in Bahrain, so I'd be looking to avoid him until there is some clarification. Here's some markets:

But judging by the practice times, he looks to be going alright (probably even a bit better than alright). Totally agree with Paul, not much point in getting involved with the race markets before qualifying - unless you're going for something at a big price. Also heard weather reports that showers are forecast for the weekend, with the intense heat it could be very interesting:tongue2.

This means he faces a 10 place grid penalty and so it may be advantagous not to treat qualifying seriously and just start from the back of the grid with a heavy fuel load. Bit dodgy I think as you don't know how the top teams will view qualifying with the penalty - problem being that everyone from 10 back will be pretty heavy. So there's a chance they'll fuel him light to get 1st or 2nd, then start 11th or 12th and get past the heavier cars sharpish and be up there with the quick ones. Or as winbet says they could go heavy, but then probably get 6th or 7th - then starting 16th, heavy with other heavy cars around isn't very appealing - so they may just make him not go out in qualfying as to not tax the engine - Ferrari engine seems a bit dodgy at the minute. Interesting situation and the main reason I'm leaving qualifying alone:unsure.

ReasoningMaybe a bit risky with expecting 8 cars not to finish but with very hot weather and chance of Thunder, conditions are going to be tiring either way. 45C expected at track side and i expect a few retirements late on add to that problems with Red Bull's overheating fault and various other reliabilty issues in some teams it might just be a decent bet. Its a wide track so i dont expect many collisions a long the way but 1.90 seems fair.

Re: Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix Incredibly interesting grid. I think it's safe to assume the first 4 (Fisi, Button, Rosberg, Webber) are quite a bit lighter than the next 3 (JPM, Kimi, Alonso). Alonso had a fuel rig problem so has more fuel on than he wanted - so I think it's quite likely he's one stopping. In terms of outright pace I think the McLaren has a slight edge and look strong, but will Fisi be able to get away in the first stint? This needs a lot of thinking about:unsure :unsure

Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella took pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix ahead of Jenson Button's Honda. Fisichella set a time of one minute 33.840 seconds at the Sepang track to beat the Englishman by 0.046secs. Rookie Nico Rosberg followed up his impressive debut in Bahrain last week with third in his Williams. Michael Schumacher was fourth fastest but will be demoted 10 grid places for changing his engine. World champion Fernando Alonso was eighth fastest. However, the Spaniard will start seventh on the grid because of Schumacher's demotion, which also promoted Australia's Mark Webber on to an all-Williams second row alongside Rosberg. The McLarens of Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen will start on row three.

Scotland's David Coulthard failed to make the final qualifying session and will start 10th on the grid in his Red Bull. Ralf Schumacher pulled over six minutes into the final session with his engine in flames to continue a poor start to the season for Toyota. Italy's Fisichella said: "The car was just fantastic. It's a great answer after the last race when we made a big mistake. We know what the problem was and it should not happen again."

And Fisichella said of the heat, which reached 50C on the track: "It is really tough. But physically, mentally I feel all right. It is a tough race but it will be the same for everyone." Button, still looking for his first win after 101 Grands Prix, said: "This is great for us. We didn't expect front row until the first session when the car came alive. The team turned the car around overnight." Alonso, who won the season opener in Bahrain, said: "'Fisico' showed what the car can do at this circuit and I should have been up there as well. "We had a problem with the fuel rig before the final part of qualifying and I didn't have the performance on my lap with the new tyres at the end. "I am not actually in too bad a position. The package feels good and we are consistent with our pace, so I am not ruling anything out for Sunday." The fuel-rig problem means Renault were not able to put into Alonso's fuel the amount of fuel they wanted for the start of the race - teams are not allowed to refuel between qualifying and race.

ReasoningA lot of bookmakers going this price on Fisi, and I think it's a little harsh. He's on pole and I think will have at least the fuel of Button, Rosberg and Webber, will probably have a bit more in fact. Now The two McLarens and Alonso look to be quite a bit heavier (especially Alonso!!) so they should come into the race later. But I think Fisi can get away. We need to remember this is the second race for the Merc engine and it wasn't relaiable in pre-season and for both to reach the end would be a bit of a surprise. These engines do lose power the further they run and with Fisi having a new engine he could certainly have a power advantages in the later stages which could be crucial around 2nd stop time. Fisi is capable of the odd blinding performance and with Alonso seriously out of position this is a great chance for Fisichella.

ReasoningSame analysis as the Fisi to win bet really. If he doesn't have any major problems then it will be extremely tough for 3 cars to beat him. To me this looks very solid and certainly shouldn't be odds against.

ReasoningIt feels like I'm missing something here. Montoya starts 5th with what looks like a very decent fuel load. Schumacher is either 10th or 14th I'm not sure, and looked pretty light in that final qualifying run, maybe not as light as Fisi and Button but certainly lighter than the McLarens. Montoyas pace also looked pretty evenly matched with Schumis throughout the weekend so I can't see why Montoya isn't much more heavily favoured. Relaiability is the only concern but if Montoya finishes he should be well ahead of Schumacher.

ReasoningOK, so both of these guys start at the back due to engine changes (2 for Massa!!!). Barrichello has admitted that he is struggling in the new Honda - hasn't got used to the braking or the trottle yet. This has shown in his times as he has been really slowly. Massa on the other hand has been quick, and certainly looks the one more likely to carve through the field, and should be well ahead of Barrichello. The concern is the realiability and Massas ability to keep it on the track, but I think he'll be looking for a solid performance tomorrow after the mistake in Bahrain.

ReasoningNearly 3 grand available to lay Coulthard to finish at the moment at 1.5. I'm prepared to take this on as i'm not convinced that Red Bull have sorted the overheating problems out. If this is still a problem then he will have to nurse this car round this cicuit to finish. The heat will be tremendous and he's nearly at the back of the grid to start with so could get involved in trouble also.

ReasoningYes Barichello has a lot to do tomorrow, but in no way is his chance this low of getting in the points. The car is good even though Barichello is struggling. I think this is more a pricing error by Nordic, or everyone else has priced it wrong.

ReasoningThis is another H2H where I'm not certain why Schumi is being favoured. Rosberg is an animal, I'm incredibly impressed with him so far (as I think most people are). In Bahrain he set 6 of the 10 fastest laps in the race and has carried all of that pace to Malaysia. Starting 3rd I don't think he'll be extremely light and should really have nothing to do with Schumi at all in this race. The only worry is reliability as that Cosworth engine has been revving really hard, but I think this is a good enough price to take that risk.

Reasoning The McLaren is looking good at the moment, and I was very impressed with how Raikonnen performed last weekend. This time he is infront of Alonso so he has got a great chance of getting to the front and having a shot to take the win, the main worry will be the McLaren lasting so long. As for Rosberg, he was spun early on in the last grand prix and had to replace the nose of the car which took 40 seconds. If he had not done this, I reckon he could have been well up there, and would have been challenging for a podium.

ReasoningRosberg was very quick last weekend, and the tyres seem to be working well in the heat. Williams are very keen on showing exactly what this car can do, and after a conservative and unlucky race in Bahrain, I expect to see a charging Rosberg.

ReasoningCome on this has to be a great price if you consider how short Kimi is. Motoya starts 5th on the clean side of the track and importnatly ahead of Kimi and Alonso. Would fancy him to get away ahead of those two then it's game on. Sounds confident this weekend and should have similar fuel to Kimi. Defiantely worth a shot to get on the podium at this price.

Re: Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix None that I am aware off Bet man. Betfair and the bookies have Raikkonen as favourite for the race. It looks a very open race with 7 or 8 drivers in with a chance of winning. I thought Barichello looked value at 3.6 at betandwin for a points finish, but nordic bet go 4 so even better. Wiliams technical director San Michael is talking up their car's chances of a win as it looks to have very good race pace, as shown by Rosberg clocking 6 of the 10 fastest laps in Bahrain. A bit wary that Webber hasn't finished here in 4 attempts, and that Rosberg has been wearing out the engine, though I am considering a Rosberg podium at 3.6.
