Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th I watched the higlights from Telfords match against to Gateshead (4-1) and its look like that Telford is one the worst teams in Conference Premier now. No pressure on the ball, no 1-2 passes, no building attacks and no shoots on goal for 90 minutes. On Saturday they are facing one of the strongest teams at the moment. Im on Barnet AH -1 @2.15 Bet365 . Telford was without their topscorer for the last match and McDonald from Barnet was aslo injured in their last match. I dont know they will be ready for the game.

McDonanld was rated as highly doubtful after the game last night. It was a knee injury and they weren't sure how bad it was, but I would be surprised to see him risked in a game like this.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th The only thing making me hesitating on Lincoln is that Rovers are due an away win. But considering our record away is W 0 D 1 L 3, definately looks some value on Lincoln. We also have a lot of trouble scoring and but don't concede either.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th Made a bet on Alfreton dnb to odds 3,20 at Ladbrokes. They had a very tough opening program playing some big teams. Last week they were 1-0 up against Altrincham and conceded late. They looked like they would snatch a point against Grimsby also until a injury time goal made it 2-1. Southport without Brodie who is their topscorer.

You mean Barnet not Grimsby. I was tempted to add them to my list which hopefully I will get chance to write up tonight, but apparently they were awful in the 2nd half on Tuesday and yet again gave away a shocking goal defensively. Southport's home form is looking pretty strong so far this season and beating Kiddie on Tuesday night was a good effort. I wouldn't worry too much about Brodie missing as the guy is a liability. I can see where you are coming from and it did cross my mind, but still too many question marks about them for me.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th AFC Telford v Barnet The first bet of the weekend is the strongest one as Barnet look nailed on to beat Telford. Telford have been pretty hopeless so far this season and have been pretty leaky in defence. In four home games they have conceded 12 times and have conceded 13 in their last four, including four against Dover and Gateshead in their last two matches. When you compare this to a Barnet side who have won all four away games, have scored 12 goals and conceded none then everything points to a fairly comfortable away win. Having watched Barnet on TV on Wednesday night you could see they had that bit more class than Dover especially up front and that was the difference between the two sides. Given Dover went to Telford last Saturday and beat them 4-1 again it points to a fairly easy away win. Now if football was as easy as that then we would all be millionaires, but I am really surprised that Barnet aren’t shorter than 4/6. The bet that looks most appealing though is the -1 handicap which is priced up at 8/5 with a few bookies. Altrincham v Eastleigh Opposing Eastleigh away from home proved profitable when they lost to Macclesfield the other week and I think it is worth taking them on again on Saturday. Eastleigh’s away form is looking pretty ropey in the early stages of the season. They did thump Nuneaton on the opening day, but since then they have lost to a ten-man Dover, lost to Macclesfield and drew with Dartford on Tuesday night. If they are to win the title this season then their away form needs massive improvement. Altincham have beaten Bristol Rovers at home already this season (as well as Dartford) and only lost to Gateshead 1-0. They kept going on Tuesday night when getting that late equaliser against Alfreton and I think they can cause Eastleigh problems if they throw in another one of their abject away efforts. 2/1 is available with some of the minor bookies, but 15/8 is the best available with the bigger firms. Forest Green Rovers v Halifax The home side have not won in five games now and probably caused a lot of losing accas on Tuesday night when they lost 1-0 to Nuneaton. I wasn’t massively impressed with them when they appeared on BT Sport on Bank Holiday Monday against Bristol Rovers and it still looks like Ady Pennock hase a fair bit of work to do. Halifax meanwhile have had a superb start to the season and although I do think they won’t keep up this strong start, you can’t knock them so far. They drew with Macclesfield in the week which I think is a decent effort especially as Macclesfield had yet to concede at home. Halifax have been nibbled at which doesn’t surprise me, but I think there is enough juice in the 7/4 that Skybet and Betway are offering.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th Fine bets you have even though I disagree with the Forest Green bet. I´ve taken Forest Green dnb. I know Halifax have been great so far this season, but I predict a much harder game for them here then against Macclesfield. It was a disappointing result for Forest Green against Nuneaton and they will be aiming to produce a much better display this time.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th

Addpea as always great job but wthat do you prefer higher: Altrincham or Halifax to the double with Barnet.
My biggest bet is Barnet on the - 1 the other two are the same at smaller stakes. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

If that performance was a one off then I could understand but their last win was against Alfreton six games ago and they have had winnable games since. Playing Macclesfield has proven to be pretty tough so far this season as I say no one had scored against them at home prior to Halifax on Tuesday. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th Halifax felt a little hard done too as well with a late goal disallowed. I saw a Brodieless Southport play at Halifax and they had no physical presence whatsoever, they also had a centreback out who's name i don't recall. If the line up is anything like the one that played Halifax they could get bullied out of the game.

I would say a Southport away especially at somewhere like the Shay is going to be rather different at home against a team like Alfreton. As I said it was a price that nearly tempted me in, but I don't like the way Alfreton are conceding goals at the moment and two games running they have dropped points in the last minute.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th

Any news on Wokings injuries from the other night? keeper and Ricketts went off injured' date=' cant find any team news. Should they beat Chester without them or would yous stay away?[/quote'] Not seen any team news, but what I will say is it didn't stop them beating Aldershot who are a much stronger side than Chester. Not sure there is much juice in the price though.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th Re Barnet News “Charlie MacDonald is having a scan at lunchtime today and is seeing a consultant on Friday afternoon to let us know what the situation is with his knee. I’m delighted that our physio Jayde has acted very promptly to get him in and seen to. “Obviously it is a concern about Charlie but the player that took his place the other night scored two goals so it is not too much of a problem. We have got some good players gagging to get into the team so they will all now get a chance. “With regards to Mauro Vilhete and Jack Saville, neither of them will be fit this weekend and Keanu Marsh-Brown has things on the table and in the offing so at the moment I don’t feel that it’s right to involve him until certain situations are sorted out off the field.” Read more at http://www.barnetfc.com/news/article/martin-we-want-to-keep-this-run-going-1910417.aspx#lpcui4ESzkU4MiK1.99

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th Frustrating afternoon for me with Telford somehow getting a point against Barnet and Alty leading on three occasions but only getting a point. Well done to Woodgate though who put up Alfreton (I should have stuck with them) and Forest Green who were back to form today.

Re: Vanarama Conference September 13th

I have backed one to date, Barnet at 1.67. Others on the short list (my 100% price above plus an added margin) are Macclesfield, Torquay, Lincoln, Braintree and of course Barnet. I will make a decision about which I'm backing in due course.
I didn't get back in time to post my final selections so won't after time, but in general the short list is performing well, three out of five here, Macclesfield, Torquay and Braintree. Of course the one i publicly nominate loses.
