Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014 Back FK Krasnodar (-2) to beat DVTK with 1.72 at MarathonBet I'm going against DVTK once again. Even if the Russians are virtually qualified, and will probably not field the very best players, their second line should be well able to cover this line. I just read the news on DVTK's web site, they traveled with only 2 + 16 players to Russia (some of them inexperienced youth). They are without 5 first choice members, having their goalkeeper and some key field players injured recently. They will definitely not going to war, just to do their duty and come home. I cannot imagine anything, but a home win tomorrow - by at least two goals. As mentioned last week, the gap of quality between these two teams is huge. The line of -3 with 3.05 at MarathonBet might also worth a smaller stake imo.

Back FK Krasnodar (-2) to beat DVTK with 1.72 at MarathonBet I'm going against DVTK once again. Pre-match interviews with the coaches: Sivic (DVTK): "The first leg did not go as we expected. We conceded 2 goals in the last 3 minutes, hopefully tomorrow it will look better, as we won't think about the 1-5. Four of our players have injured on Sunday, but tomorrow we'll fight until the very end." Kononov (FK): "We do not underestimate our opponent. Diosgyor is a tough team, who caused us problems last week. I am pretty sure they will give their best to win tomorrow. Despite their problems they were very organized. On the other hand we tried to play a combinative football and won the first leg comfortably. Of course we are looking to do the same at home, and we'll do everything to achive a similar result and play a high quality football. There is big contention for getting into the starting lineup, the lads are improving. Therefore we do not cut down the expectations despite the result of the first match. This is what our motivation lies in."

The only thing is because they lead 5-1 they have little motivation or reason to do anything tomorrow. All they are really interested in qualifying - which they have almost certainly already done. It could turn out as a big home win - but I am wary about backing it these circumstances.

Agreed, and this is something I mostly don't do. I mean backing an already qualified team to win the second leg as well, especially with handicap. But taking into account DVTK's injury problems, and seeing that huge quality gap between the two, I still think there is value in backing the -2 line in favor of Krasnodar. In the previous qualifying round they beat Sillamae Kalev 4-0 away, to demolish them 5-0 at home as well in the second leg.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014 Hull v Trencin The first leg ended 0-0 which while this wasn't the most preferable result for Hull, especially as the didn't get an important away goal. However it's not the worst result as they now head back to the KC stadium for the second leg where they do their best work. Hull, as they proved in the premier league last season are better at home and are also a very solid unit at home. Knowing that if they conceade then they will need to score 2 more goals than Tencin to progress I think their main priority will be to keep it tight at the back but with the gulf in class between the two teams, especially now that Hull have added some much needed flair to their ranks in Snodgrass and Ince I think Hull can win this game fairly comfortably. I see a 2-0 score as the most likely result as I just can't see Trencin breaking a solid Hull defence especially as they couldn't even get on the scoresheet in their away leg against the Serbs in their last away qualifier. My bets for this game are: Hull to win to nil @ evens (6/10) Correct score Hull 2-0 Trencin @ 6.0 (1/10)

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014 4pts Real Sociedad to beat Aberdeen 7/10 William Hill Aberdeen are sure to give this everything but I don’t expect Sociedad to be as rusty or as sloppy in front of goal as they were in the first leg. The Spanish side took a while to get going in the first leg but in racing parlance they should have come on for the run and I expect them to be too good for a spirited but ultimately outclassed Aberdeen side in this second leg. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014 St. Polten - PSV I am backing PSV to win with at least two goals difference. The class gap is huge - St.Polten is second division Austrian team. The first match should bring no confusion - it was completely different complexion as St.Polten were defending in numbers (parking the bus), trying to get good result away from home. PSV are not a team build-up to break easily tight and compact defenses. They lack physical advantage, typical "number nine" and midfielders able to distribute well and deliver good through balls. Also the 4-3-3 formation they are using, is not very efficient against bus-parkers. The great speed of PSV attack is not so useful against team that stay deep and defend in numbers. However, PSV is the perfect team to utilize empty spaces and hit on the break. Players like Depay, De Young and Narsingh have great speed and are excellent outplaying an opponent one-to-one. I think St.Polten will be much more attacking at home. They need to recover a goal deficit and that was their attitude in the last round against Botev. They were negative away, but became very attacking and positive at home. I draw some comparisons with last year PSV CL qualifier against Zulte (of course, given that Zulte is much higher class than St.Polten). In the first game PSV struggled at home against very defensive Zulte. But in the return leg, the Dutch had many empty spaces to explore and they destroyed their opponent - won 3:0 and missed 7-8 sitters to make the score more embarrasing. PSV-1.5 @ 2.45 (Pinnacle)

i dont think for clean sheet by hull. trencin is very offensive team, sometime they are lacking in away games but this is prestige match and only with goal they can reach next round. hull is big favourite here but i expect tight game with some lucky goals.

I think this could be a risky bet tbh. Trencin were well beat 2 weeks ago in the EL losing 3-0 at the hands of Vojvodina, a Serbian super league outfit who finished a whole 27 points off Serbian league winners Zvezda last term. The gulf in class between Vojvodina and Hull is enormous so if Trencin let the Serbians put 3 goals past them on their away trip I don't see how Trencin can be backed as a value bet against Premier league opposition.

Trencin were marginally better. I know it was away but there are doubts over how easy Hull will find it to win.

Result: Esbjerg 2 Ruch 2 Bet void Stake: 5 points Return: 5 points Anyone who saw the second half will know how lucky Ruch were here. They sat on their 1-1 score which would see them through on aggregate. Esbjerg had all the possession and chances, somehow missing some very good ones, until they eventually got a deserved lead in the 85th minute. Only then did Ruch attack and they equalised from a 96th minute corner putting them through on away goals.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014 This week's Europa League matches were Home/Draw/Away 8-7-14, while the Champions League matches were 8-4-3. Last week's Europa league matches were 12-8-9, while in the Champions League - 7-5-3. Very interesting comparison, apparently at this stage teams in the Champions League tend to lose a lot less at home than in the Europa League, probably because more is at stake they need to turn their stadium into a fortress.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014

Hull v Trencin The first leg ended 0-0 which while this wasn't the most preferable result for Hull, especially as the didn't get an important away goal.
Although Hull eventually won they made hard work of it an conceaded within the first 5 minutes, so both bets lost.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014

Back FK Krasnodar (-2) to beat DVTK with 1.72 at MarathonBet I'm going against DVTK once again.
The Russians were firing from all cylinders in the first half, and DVTK was lucky to concede only one. After Joaozinho and Ari were introduced in the 61st minute I expected at least one more goal, even if this came only a few minutes before the final whistle (Ari still missed a huge chance at 3-0...). In the second half Krasnodar did not put the same pressure on the Hungarians (which is understandable), but the two substitutes created an awesome goal to make this pick a winning one :nana
