Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd We have a nice mid week game ahead. Bordeaux hosting FC Lorient. On first sight it didn't interest me that much, but as always I started to collect some valuable information, and changed my mind. Bordeaux looks like the right play tonight due some important facts and statistics. Both teams are not playing at their max level lately or maybe they over achieved before? I think it's the case with this Lorient team. They were on a excellent run but it ended 2 weeks ago in the game against Toulouse. Last week they lost as expected to Marseille and 4 days later they will face another tough away game. Maybe Bordeaux doesn't scare many punters but they actually do have a solid record this season especially at their own stadium. 8-1-4 overall with a goal difference of 18-11. Won their last 4 out of 5 home games against some strong opponents like ST Etienne and Lille. Better away teams than Lorient in the end. They will still miss Traore, Jussie and Rolan, 2 forwards and a midfielder but they are out for a while now so Bordeaux should be fine with Diabete, Sertic and Saivet upfront. Enough potential to score goals and I hope Diabete will start instead of Hoarau. I really don't like him as a striker. Diabete was often one of Bordeaux's best players and proofed he can score goals anytime/anywhere. All in all their squad looks fine for this fixture and I expect them to do well against a weakened Lorient side. This fixture ended 3-3 earlier this season but I don't expect many goals tonight. Lorient on the other hand are facing some troubles for this game. Their central midfield pair are both out, Bourillon and Jouffre which are huge blows in my opinion. First one is really important as a defensive factor and Jouffre has to provide the players upfront with his vision and great passing skills. He also scored 6 goals already. Worst news is that also Aloain Traore is still suspended and he should be the sub for Bourillon. Their regular goalie Audard is also still out, I do think it's a blow cause he did great but his replacement already played 9 games so far. Gassama regular defender is also out injured but they finally welcome back important defender Ecuele Manga so no big missings at the back for Lorient. Anyways, Central midfield is the most important part of your team and the real engine. I don't know yet who will play tonight but I can't imagine they won't be heavily weakened on those positions. Upfront they will miss Jouffre's support for sure and we will just have to wait and see how they cope with that. Ofcourse they are always dangerous with such pacey forwards but they failed against Marseille too. Will be a hard game for Lorient to collect any points here. Their away record is still pretty bad. Overall a 3-1-9 with goal difference of 12-20. They often concede on the road and their will be some huge pressure on their backline tonight cause they will probably loose the battle in midfield. Maybe even one goal is enough for Bordeaux to win this game tonight but I also can't exclude they score 2 goals here. They've scored more than 2 goals in 6 of their 8 winning games at home! 2 goals should be surely enough to win this one or something bad has to happen on the pitch for Bordeaux. In their 8 wins at home they never conceded more than once. Interesting facts! I was thinking about backing the unders cause both sides can be pretty tight at the back although a boring 0-0 is not likely today, but possible. And this fixture can surely end 2-1 or something so that's not an option for me. I'll try 3 other bets for this game. Bordeaux to win. Medium stakes odds around evens! Bordeaux to score 2 or more goals. Odds around 2.10 small stakes! Both teams to score NO. Small stakes odds around 1.85! In case of a boring draw we will atleast win 1 out of 3. :D Goodluck all.

We have a nice mid week game ahead. Bordeaux to win. Medium stakes odds around evens! Goodluck all.
I think Bordeaux have a decent chance to win this game. Stats wise, Bordeaux don't concede 1st half goals at home. In 8 1st halves they have given up 1 goal. They have only scored 3 1st half goals in 8 home games. 5 of their last 10 1st halves have finished 0-0. I really like to risk a little more in the bet, going for the 1st half draw and then 'my team' for the win, when teams draw so many 1st half games, and don't have many 1st half goals. Both teams have 3 1st half 0-0 draws in last 5 home games and 5 away games respectively 1st half draw and home win is 5 on betvictor. 2 units for me here.

I also stakes some on this bet a half our ago. Think it has a decent chance of winning here. Odds are great. First I wanted to back them for the HT/FT bet but like you said often HT result is 0-0 and Lorient are not easy to penetrate.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd I’m away until Sunday so will not be producing any in-detail picks for Ligue 1. But I’ve listed some predictions and brief thoughts below along with a couple of picks. Evian 1-1 Nantes – Evian will probably hold the lead at some stage in this match and blow it….lay them when they get ahead. St Etienne 0-1 Monaco – Sainte renowned chokers in big games like this………… Lorient 2-1 Bastia – Good chance of the overs coming in here, it should be an open match Nice 0-0 Toulouse – Unlikely to be much of a classic, smells very drawish Reims 1-0 Valenciennes - I like Reims -0.25 here, the price is generous 4/10 @ 2.02 Rennes 2-0 Guingamp – If Rennes play like they did against Nantes they should win comfortably, I like them -0.5 @ 2.04 4/10 Sochaux 2-1 Bordeaux – Sochaux desperately need a win and could take advantage of a tired Bordeaux. Home win or draw for me and +0.25 is appealing @ 1.95 4/10 Ajaccio 1-1 Lille – The Corsicans can spring a surprise, Lille have been off colour so far in 2014 Lyon 1-1 Montpellier – Both teams have been in good form and could cancel each other out PSG 3-0 Marseille – PSG always ‘turn on the style’ for games like this. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think OM have much chance. I have personally taken Reims -0.25, Rennes -0.5 & Sochaux +0.25, all 4/10 stakes. This is without the benefit of any late team news though. But those are the 3 bets which stand out to me as good value and I like them as my picks of the round. Good luck everyone

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd My first pick for this round will be Lorient when they host Bastia at their own stadium. Maybe a bit surprising for people who follow this thread closely cause I've backed the teams who played against lorient in recent games. But things are different now. Lorient welcomes back both of their central midfielders for this game : Jouffre and Bourillon [very important] als regular full back Gassama is back who will probably replace Guerreiro. They will still miss Traore due suspension but he is a sub anyways. Left back Guerreiro is injured unfortunately so he's out for this game but since last week Ecuele Manga returned so their defense is fine for this game. Regular goalie Audard is still out but he missed a lot of games. Lorient lost a couple of games lately but their loss against Toulouse was pretty unlucky, a early red card killed the game. Even with 10 men they scored first. Away games at Marseille and Bordeaux is always hard. Lorient is a strong force at home and pretty hard to beat. 6-4-2 overall record with goal difference of 20-14. They always push for a win from the start on their own ground and often open up the score. Their forwards Aboudakar and Aliadere are always a big threat for their opponents and now with the support of Joufrre back in the team things can get ugly for Bastia. They also often play through their wings and the good news is that Bastia will miss regular full back Palmieri for this game. Bastia will face problems in this department. Two typical home teams face eachother in this fixture and I feel this is a great chance for Lorient to get back on track. They are always good for goals at home and I fancy them to score atleast twice here. Likely starting 11 will be : Chaigneau, Gassama, Lautoa, Ecuele Manga, Kone, Jouffre, Bourillon, Monnet Paquet, Barthelme, Aliadere and Aboudakar. Bastia on the other hand come of 2 home defeats in a row which is rare for them. Normally they are a solid side at home and hard to beat. Ok, they faced Monaco and St etienne but if they also start losing their home games it will not get any better soon. They will miss regular Palmieri like I wrote and defensive midfielder Cahuzac which is a real blow for their defensive part. Regular goalie Landreau is also out [22 games], Krasic too [17games 2goals] and same for midfielder Adama Ba [12 games 3 goals] along with Cioni sub defender [9games] long term forward Raspetino and the suspended Yatabare. All in all pretty important missings for Bastia. But the good news is they welcome back midfielder Romaric for this game. Likely starting 11 will be : Leca, Diakite, Harek, Modesto, Squillaci, Romaric, Sable, Boudebouz, Khazri, Cisse and Ilan. Bastia are often poor on their travels. Their overall record is : 2-4-7 with a goal difference of 13-26. They always concede goals away from home and I expect them to do the same in this game with all their missings. Bastia never won away at Lorient and last year they suffered a 4-1 defeat. Maybe they are able to score here cause of Lorient playing offensive football all game and may leave some space at the back but I'm sure Bastia won't net 2 times. Only top teams score more than one goal in this stadium and I surely won't rate Bastia as a top team especially when they travel. I expect an open game of football and Lorient to score atleast twice. I made 3 bets for this game! Lorient to win with medium stakes. Odds around 1.80/1.85. [still dropping though] Lorient to score 2 or more goals with medium stakes. Odds around 1.85! Lorient to win and over 2.5 goals with small stakes. Odds around 2.90! Goodluck guys.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd Rennes hosting Guingamp tonight at Stade de la Route. Both teams are in fine condition for this clash. No important missings on both sides! Rennes picked up a decent form in 2014. They've only lost once away at Ajaccio in their last 10 games. Quite impressive if you watched them before the winter break. New signings Ola Toivonen, Grosicky and Ntep are adapting quite well. Rennes is scoring goals again which is rather important cause they were very poor infront of goal in the first part of the season. Alessandrini returns after injury but I don't think their coach will change something in his line-up. [Never change a winning team :D] Rennes finally picked up some kind of form and they are way more stable at the back than before. I really fancy them to score first in this game. In their last 3 games they opened up the score and Toivonen is red hot at the moment. Guingamp never scored in the first half in their last 19 games, LOL? Never seen such stats in a pro league so I just have to back Rennes to score first and Rennes to win at HT. It seems like decent value to me and it can always happen that Guingamp suddenly scores a goal here but he, that's life. I do think that this will be a tight afair though. Guingamp is always hard to beat that's why I'm focussing on the First half. Probable starting 11 will be : Costil, Danze, Armand, Boye, M'Bengue, Makoun, Konradsen, Grosicky, Ntep, Kadir and Toivonen. Guingamp is one of the worst away sides in this ligue 1. 1-4-7 overall record with goal difference of 7-16!! Only 7 goals scored which is really poor. They are not that bad to be honest but their approach in away games is so shy. They're always waiting for their opponent to make the first move which obviously favors my bets. They often concede first and when that happens, they almost always struggle to come back into the game because of their poor finishing skills in front of goal. Yatabare their topscorer only scored at home, says enough about their confidence away from home. They welcome back winger Diallo for this game and he should start. So probable starting 11 will be : Samassa, Martins-Pereira, Lemaitre, Sorbon, Kerbrat, Mathis, Sankhare, Diallo, Beauvue, Yatabare, Dembele. Rennes should be too strong for Guingamp in this game but I don't think it's gonna be easy. If Rennes can keep things tight at the back I fancy them to win and maybe even a win to nil. This should be a great chance to extend their winning streak and climb up the table. I have 3 bets for this game. Rennes to score first medium stakes. Odds around 1.70, very likely winner for the safe bet! But for people who like higher odds Rennes to score before minute 52th is 1.85! Rennes to win at HT or FT with medium stakes. Odds around 1.80! Rennes to win the first half small stakes. Odds around 2.75! [Huge in my eyes, odds for over 0.5 goals at HT is 1.50?? Since Guingamp haven't scored in their last 19 games these odds are massive value to me]. Goodluck guys.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd Hi senk, great write up as always :ok 1 question tho, which bookie do you usually use? I am getting shorter odds for same bets at 365. Rennes to win either half @ 1.57 (which is far worse than 1.80ish you got) edit: just realized you posted 6 hours ago :D

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd Yeah, I always look at the odds a few days before kick-off. The teams I like in every round, almost always drop before they start so that's why I take them early! ;) Let's hope they will deliver!

They were widely available at 1.85 when senk tipped and now at 1.70. Good tipping as usual.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd Great, just great.. Lorient scored 1-0 as expected, hope they can deliver more goals! Rennes too but their goal got dissalowed after 15 minutes.. Now Guingamp scores their first away goal in 20 games, why now? :( Bad luck fellows!

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd What a terrible night. Lorient was ALL over the place, unbelievable they didn't score a second goal. We would have had 3 out of 3 then, damn. Rennes was too poor to turn the game around. Bad results, sorry guys.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > February 25th - March 2nd PSG v Marseille Surprisingly, in the last 5 matches played between these teams in Paris, Marseille won corners 3 times. A nd minimum 4 corners OM takes almost every match against PSG, so I am sure that it is worth to take this bet for 1.72 PSG lost 4 of the last 5 matches on the corners and in each of these 5 matches the rival always inflicted at least 4 corners) Marseille Corners, Over 3.5 at 1.72 Bet365
