Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 Looking at tomorrow's games I stopped at Gateshead -Welling & Altrincham -Worcester double. The home wins look good, gateshead fighting for playoff position, while welling looked poor in last weeks. Also Altrincham is fighting for promotion, while worcester (even if they won last 2 games), is a poor team in the league. Altrincham is more fresh, they didn't play in weekend... Any opinions about these games are welcome... Thanks!

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 Conference South Staines Town v Maidenhead Originally scheduled for New Years Day (postponed because of bad weather). I thought Maidenhead were good value then, and think they are now (although odds are slightly shorter). Maidenhead are unbeaten in their last five games at Staines. Maidenhead won the home game 3-1 on Boxing Day. Maidenhead +0.5 1.85 sbobet

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22

Be careful with the Staines game as their pitch was flooded and they had to move Saturday's game with Havant although it was called off anyway
When you say 'be careful', in what sense? Are you warning against backing Maidenhead, or just saying it might be postponed?

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 As certainties go, tomorrow has one in the Ryman Premier. Chandlers are quoting 8/11 Bury Town to beat Grays. Bury dismantled Lowestoft Town at the weekend and created umpteen chances in the process. They're on a long unbeaten run and are pushing for the play-off spots. Grays, however, are in utter turmoil. Their keeper was hit with a 12 month ban last week after assaulting an opposition player with a table leg (coincidentally against Bury) and they finished Saturday's 1-0 defeat with Thamesmead with five 18 year old or under players on the pitch. To compound things, they have a further four players suspended for this match and God only knows how they'll put a team together, let alone a squad. They seemingly didn't have one shot either on or off target against Thamesmead and the 8/11 is surely akin to finding money on the street. Max bet time for me and the HT/FT might be worth a punt, too.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 I think Eastleigh have good chances for victory tomorow away against Weston SM, the odds is okay. I just saw highlights from their last match against Gosport B. (won 2-1) they created lot of chances and should score at least 7 goals. But I dont have informations about absences, maybe some of you could help ?

As I have pointed out many times on here Staines at home and Staines away are two very different teams. I wondered if the ground might have still been flooded as well. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 Tamworth - Cambridge United Conference Premier, England Tuesday 21/1 20:45 Prediction: Cambridge United Odds: 1,85 Stake: 5/10 Bookmaker: WilliamHill Tamworth placed in relegation zone and a 22nd place in the table against promotion contenders Cambridge at 2nd place. We thought Cambridge would be up for a difficult match in their last game away to Halifax, a game which ended 1-1 but Cambridge played well and look's solid. Defensively very well organized, difficult to create chances against. Cambridge been scored against 11 times in 25 matches, remarkable stats. Tamworth on the other hand has only scored 23 goals in 24 matches. Tamworth together with two other teams the ones who finds it most difficult to put the ball in the net. So, Tamworth who likes to play long balls against a solid Cambridge. We have difficulties to see how Tamworth will score here, they shoulden't get many chances. Cambridge, although they dont score that many goals should have a good chance here to win despite their rather bad away stats, only 3 wins in 13 matches. However their h2h stats against Tamworth is remarkable, they have only lost 1 out of the 13 latest matches against Tamworth, winning 6 and drawing 6. We see a couple of threats here against out pick, the weather which could prove a challenging factor for Cambridge, Tamworth with their long ball approach will benefit from a wet pitch, also their home ground is very narrow, which is another factor Cambridge must cope with. We think Cambridge will handle it well, we really cant see Tamworth creating chances here, Cambridge should win it normally. Not a spectacular odds, but class difference between the two sides.

That's a good shout given the problems at Grays but I'm a touch wary of Bury at the moment. No doubt that they have been impressive in recent weeks, and that's all the more remarkable given the mess they're in off the field. Of the side that smashed Grays in the Trophy in November, they've lost Ryan Semple, David Bridges and Shane Tolley in the recent budget cut - they are making do with a senior squad of XI players plus kids, and they had just three on the bench at Lowey. They're on duty Sat-Tues-Sat for the next few weeks and there will have to be a good deal of pack-shuffling. They will be nursing the squad through knocks over the next few weeks, and I don't know if they picked up any injuries at Lowestoft. Having said that, full marks to Richard Wilkins for keeping the momentum going when he has been dealt a terrible hand - they are a whole lot more spirited than Grays at the moment, who don't really seem up for the fight.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 A couple of spreads I like for Tuesday... I wouldn't usually be having anything to do with Chester away but Steve Burr's Chester is a different matter. I can't quite see them winning against a Woking side who seem to be waiting for loanees to be draughted in, but I like Jamie Reed's goal minutes at 12 with Sporting Index. He hasn't been full of goals this season, and he doesn't strike me as much of a Steve Burr type player, but he was much improved on Saturday and a similar performance against a less than sure-footed Woking defence could bring him some joy. The last time I favoured Lincoln (against Ferriby) was a disaster, but it'll be a stronger side that faces Macclesfield and I'm happy to sell the time of their second goal at 82 with Sporting/Spreadex. Macclesfield have generally defended well at home, but they looked like they needed a break against a Nuneaton side who bullied them on Saturday. Lincoln offer a similar physical challenge and with more attacking prowess in the side of late I can see them having some joy, though it is a risky play (if one with little downside).

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 A Ryman double... Hampton & Richmond Borough with Harrow Borough. Neither side has been very reliable this season, but I quite fancy this. Despite some puzzlingly poor performances early season, Hampton have improved remarkably, and are unbeaten in seven. Wingate & Finchley are in poor nick, with three points in 24 coming from a fortunate win at home to Hendon. Harrow Borough aren't natural betting material, and their squad seems some way from being settled, but they are on a decent enough run to get them past a spirited, youthful Carshalton, about to go through another change of management. The Harrow/Hampton double pays 7/4 at BetVics.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 I took in the Wingate / Leiston match on Saturday and W&F were as poor a team as I've seen in this league. But for better finishing and a stroke of luck, Leiston could easily have been four or five to the good by half time. I'd be happy to oppose W&F between now and the end of the season as the only player that looks any good is the lad Ola Williams who plays at full-back. I can't comment with any conviction on the Harrow match as I've not seen Carshalton play this season, but Harrow do have goals in them (although their pitch is in dreadful condition and isn't conducive to passing football).

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22 Woking v Chester Woking were rather disappointing againstout of form Welling on Saturday and were well on their way to losing beforethey went down to ten men. With Steve Burr taking over at Chester I expect themto improve and it certainly seems that the players wanted to show what theywere capable off when beating Barnet 2-1 on Saturday. At 5/2 they are wellworth backing. Macclesfield v Lincoln Opposing another team I backed on Saturdayin Macclesfield. They have had a tough schedule of late and looked to befeeling the effects of the FA Cup replay when losing to Nuneaton on Saturday. That game was played on a heavy pitch and with Lincoln’s league form being toimprove added to the fact they had the weekend off they look overpriced at 19/5to get an away win. Staines v Maidenhead Some of you may remember that I tipped upMaidenhead on Boxing Day to win the reverse of this fixture. I have writtenplenty about Staines’ home and away form and it has been a great way to make aprofit. Staines are 11/10 to win this game and that price is solid about thehome side. Weston-Super-Mare v Eastleigh Evens is available at Coral on the away sideand that seems a solid bet. They are trying to chase Bromley down at the topand need to keep winning to close the gap. Weston have won their last two gamesbut against Dorchester and Tonbridge and this will be a much bigger test. Treble Bury and Hampton look home bankers in the RymanPremier, whilst Hayes go to bottom side Dorchester in the Skrill South and theyshould also win and that pays around 7/2 Chester 1pt Lincoln 1pt Staines 2pts Eastleigh 2pts Bury, Hampton and Hayes 1pt Treble

For those who can hot foot it to a Laddies with one off the SSBTs, I just took Bognor to keep a clean sheet at Cray at 2/1!!!! Unbelievable value imo against a team who have failed to score in 6 of their last 7 Admittedly Bognor haven't kept a clean sheet in their last 8 but they haven't played Cray in that time, and they won the reverse fixture 4-0 in September. I'd have it maybe 4/5 so 2/1... :loon Also Stourbridge were 6/4 to keep a clean sheet at Bashley which is also much bigger than I would make it. I stuck the pair in a crazy value double too Sent from my GT-I9300 using PL Forum

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 20-22

I would take the stats on the BBC site with a pinch of salt.
It's the only place I've found that gives detailed stats during games. One of the ways in which ESPN has shown they are utterly clueless is that they no longer offer stats for anything other than premier leagues. Number one worldwide in sports my arse.

But how on earth can a game be measured like that especially a non premier league. Only with tv technology are you going to get accurate possession stats. In my view they shouldn't even bother to put it up. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum
