Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 Alfreton town looks like the right play on thursday. 9 days o rest for them so no doubts about a fresh and eager team especially after their bad loss away at lincoln city. Not an expert in this league but I saw some regulars were on the bench that game. Any team news already? Looks like they have a pretty fit squad and they had some extra time to recover ofcourse. They are having a great season so far. 3th in the league and a great home record. 11-1-2 a loss against luton and a draw against cambridge is not bad at all. Tamworth is another class and they will suffer from their fa trophy games. 2 away games in 3 days is not a christmass gift if you ask me and a 3th game in only 6 days could end in some heavy legs. The HT-FT bet you guys were talking about obviously took my attention too. I expect a hungry home side from the start and if Tamworth is not as sharp as they normally are supposed to be then they will face some serious troubles. They already lost 7 out of 11 away games this season and some with big numbers. Alfreton should seal the deal here. Medium stakes on the home win for me and small stakes on the HT-FT bet! Goodluck guys and thx for the info every week

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16

Hello all! New here, just wanted to say that I appreciate the info and insight provided week in and week out here. Seeing the Alfreton ML at 1.80 now, do you see it drifting any higher?
Welcome, Mr Toffee! I think it's unlikely we'll see much more of a drift as everyone wakes up to the fact that Tamworth have such a busy schedule.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 Ebbsfleet United away at Farnborough (10/11 Marathon) After a fantastic recent run, Ebbsfleet's performances have been a touch shaky though they have played some excellent sides. They can get back on track against an increasingly youthful Farnborough, who are being reshaped by Spencer Day. Day is already playing the 'down to the bare bones' card for this one, and it's not hard to see where he is coming from - compared to the impressive starting XI in September the team is full of gaps being plugged. Basingstoke Town at home to Whitehawk (10/11 Marathon) Basingstoke have dropped out of the play-off slots but they have a better chance of three points against Whitehawk than the prices suggest. They have been decent at home recently - the only goal they have conceded in five is against Bromley. Whitehawk have a very decent squad but haven't been firing all season. They managed a superb win at Eastbourne over Christmas but that was the exception rather than the rule (their first league clean sheet since the end of September). Basingstoke are organised and have the necessary firepower. Concord Rangers away at Bromley (13/2 BetVictor) Bromley are excellent, of course, and have been strengthening the squad for the run-in, but let me play devil's advocate here - they have been getting through a couple of games recently by sheer guts. Concord bring to the table some mid-table form, but their performances are all over the shop - brilliant one day, horrible the next. My thinking is that though they could easily turn up and lose 4-0, they are also one of the few sides with the potential to win here. Tony Stokes, after his loan at Canvey, is back and in the groove and finally showing he can shine at Conny South level, and loanee midfielder Jack Powell has already been catching the eye. So this isn't a play for widows and orphans, but Concord aren't 13/2 shots.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 I've sold the time of the 2nd Hyde goal tomorrow at 82 (Sporting, Spreadex). As on Friday when Welling met Dartford, I see this as a way of opposing the home side with very little downside, though it has to be conceded it's a pretty risky trade. I've been opposing Welling on here since November, when their home record was superb, although I detected a few creaks in there. They were poor in losing to Nuneaton, and drawing with Wrexham and Dartford, and now have a couple of further injury concerns to bother their already light squad (they may, though, bring in a loanee before tomorrow). After a season of being terrible, Hyde haven't turned a corner just yet with their point at Southport, but they do keep it front foot and Scott Spencer is in reasonable nick. Defensively, they look poor although they did operate as a unit at Southport. They may not be able to put up a spirited showing twice in a row after a long haul - they are not used to winning - but they will be attempting to play their way out of trouble and that might bring them some joy. Welling don't seem a whole lot better than Southport at the moment, and Hyde can offer a livelier threat than Dartford (albeit with a weaker defence). Hyde have scored twice away on four occasions this season and at this mark, with a bit more wind in their sails now, I'm chancing that they'll do it again. Given the potential mess that Welling's midfield and defence will be in, I'm also a buyer of Scott Spencer's goal minutes at 15. I also like a buy of Lee Hughes' goal minutes at 19 with Sporting. Grimsby, who go to FGR tomorrow, are a decent defensive unit away from home but I'm not a hundred per cent convinced by their ability to deal with the kind of frontman like Hughes, who is all muscle, hard running and a finder of unlikely spaces. On a different day, he might have had a couple against Hereford. I have been critical of FGR this season but they were streets ahead of Hereford last week and I think the match will produce goals. I'm backing Hughes to be among them.

I can't see a huge edge in the price, though Eastleigh should win. Eastleigh have had a few problems putting games to bed at home and this was the case on Saturday, though the feeling is they have another gear to go up into. Dover have rather tailed off after some promising moments this season, and it certainly seems the case that Chris Kinnear is still searching for the right blend, particularly in attacking areas. He has also seemed tactically hamstrung at times this season. They are not out of the play-off picture but they need to regain some momentum and away to Eastleigh midweek when the supporters coach has been cancelled by lack of numbers isn't the best place to be doing that.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 What about gateshead tonight guys? Looks like 2 typical home teams face eachother. Many of us backed them this weekend and they deliverd well. Aldershot looks terrible away, conceding a lot of goals in their last 4 while gateshead is still improving. Solid home record and odds around evens appeals to me. Any chance they will rest some players or are they worth a try here?

Brett Williams got a knock in the game on Saturday so might not be 100%

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 I am going to leave Gateshead alone tonight. They aren't actually playing that well at the moment and lets face it they have played two games that almost couldn't not win. Maybe this game might prove to be the same but Gateshead drew with Halifax at home and their away record was even worse than Aldershots. They should be favs but they are priced up about right for me.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 Evening Gents Hills have placed Wakefield v Curzon Ashton in their English Northern Football Division One list. Curzon are well rested (haven't played since Jan 4th) and should eventually win the division at a stroll. Wakefield on the other hand, are abject. Curzon at 2/5 is a very safe bet.

To add to this notion, Bradley Bubb's international clearance has come through and he can play tonight. Given that total goals in the last four Gateshead's home shows have made-up 3, 4, 2 and 5, and in Aldershot's 3, 4, 4 and 4, I'm a buyer of total goals at 2.7 with Spreadex. I think both sides have the capacity to notch tonight.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 Sometimes going against the crowd pays off and you can be certain the crowd will be on Welling tonight as they host Hyde. Hyde had a spell a couple of months back where they were playing well and taking the lead before losing. Over Christmas they were missing some defenders and that meant they couldn't stop conceding. When they lost to Gateshead 4-0 reports suggested they were actually the better team until Gateshead got their 2nd. Then of course on Saturday they really should have beaten Southport but ended up conceding late on. I have backed Hyde 3 times this season and twice they have been in front in those games. They aren't that far away and this looks a winnable game for them tonight. I was at the Welling v Dartford match on Friday night and Welling were poor against a Dartford side who were on a long losing run. Welling's goal was a penalty and they barely threatened all game. Welling are missing crucial players at the moment and they are certainly no better than Southport. This isn't a bet to be lumping on but at 6/1 Hyde are value. I am also hoping that Welling get punted in before kick off as the sheep lump on the home side and we may get a bigger price on Hyde.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 13-16 Hednesford and Stockport are both leaking and scoring goals for fun at the moment and I think it could be a high scoring affair. Over 3.5 goals is available at 6/5 and is worth backing. The final bet is a treble on Ebbsfleet, Basingstoke and North Ferriby which pays nearly 5/1 at the moment with Coral. Ships has made the case for the first two already, whilst North Ferriby travel to a Leamington side who struggled without Stefan Moore on Saturday.

In addition, the creative Mark Molesley returned from a long break on Saturday and I'd expect us to be a bit more open with him in the team. All our last 8 league games have gone over.
