Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14 Gainsborough Trinity at home to Vauxhall Motors (10/11 widespread) BetVics' best price has gone but there is still value at this mark, I think. Steve Housham deserves great credit for shuffling a limited pack and coming up with a decent squad after last summer's turmoil and a poor start. Loanees Jamie Wooton and Lewis McMahon have slipped in very nicely and the team played decent stuff against an admittedly tired Brackley midweek, but other than that they have performed superbly to win at Colwyn Bay and Barrow. Vauxhall Motors have Matty Kosylo back but he didn't help much in the defeat at home to BPA last week, and it must be a worry that their last league clean sheet away was last season. AFC Telford away at Workington (11/10 widespread) It'll be a stronger Worko side than the one that got off the bus at Oxford (four players couldn't get time off work) but home form has been worryingly poor and Telford generally do better on their travels, where they are able to get behind sides more easily. Once again, BetVics best price has gone but at this mark there is some value.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14 Dartford v Halifax Dartford fans have probably forgotten whatit is like to actually see their team win a game of football it has been thatlong, but I think their team are worth supporting to gain three points onSaturday. Despite the fact they keep losing their has certainly been animprovement on the pitch in recent weeks as Barnet and Gateshead only just beatthem and they forced Forest Green Rovers to a replay in the FA Trophy. Halifaxwere one of my tips last week but lost 4-3 after going one up. That was theirfirst home loss of the season and the fact they were missing a few key playersdidn’t help their cause. They are still yet to win on their travels and haveonly picked up two away points all season. It is also worth stating that Dartford’shome form was pretty good earlier in the season. It is hardly one to lump onbut at 27/10 (BetVictor) there is certainly a fair bit of value in supportingthem at those odds. Colwyn Bay v Histon Onto the Skrill North and again I amopposing a team I backed last weekend in Histon. They were very poor againstStalybridge and have now only picked up one point in their last five matches. Isuspected Histon’s young side might struggle on their travels this season andthey have only one once on the road. Colwyn Bay are in fair form at the momenthaving won two of their last four and getting a good draw against Brackley. They have actually only won once at home all season and drawn five and whilstthat is a small concern, a closer look discovers that win was against highflying Solihull last month and I think this offers them a cracking opportunityto gain a second home win. Even money with BetVictor and Coral is just bigenough for me to get involved. Gainsborough Trinity v Vauxhall Motors The home side have been beginning toimprove in recent weeks and although they are currently below Saturday’sopponents in the table I think they will be swapping places very shortly. Theyhad two good wins against Colwyn Bay and Boston before gaining a good drawagainst Brackley on Tuesday night. Motors on the other hand have lost three oftheir last four games and have not managed to keep a clean sheet on theirtravels all season. Given they have also only scored seven you would fancyTrinity might only need one goal to win this and you would fancy them to do so.Coral’s even money is worth taking. Workington v AFC Telford Fair play to the home side for getting apoint at Oxford on Tuesday night. Not only was it a long way to go on a Tuesdaynight, they only had 13 players and have just lost their manager to Barrow. Onthe whole though they have been in dreadful form of late, having won just oncein their last eight games and losing their last two home games 3-0. Telfordsurprisingly lost to Leamington last weekend, but have been generally been ingood form. They are bang in title contention, whilst Workington are in arelegation battle and they might well drop out of the league this season.William Hill are 11/10 and that looks a good price as I think they should beodds on. Eastbourne v Staines The best bet of the week for me is in theSkrill South. Eastbourne have quietly snuck up into the play-off places and aresix games unbeaten. Their season has been built on their home form with onlyDover beating them there all season. Staines continued their own great homeform last weekend when beating Bishop’s Stortford, but as I have mentioned awayfrom home they are shocking, with only one point to their name. In their lastaway match they even lost to then bottom of the table Gosport. Everythingpoints to a home win here and BetVictor are biggest at 5/6

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14

Any other opinion about Halifax win? :)
Addpea is backing Dartford and there is good reasoning behind it. It's looking like a stronger Halifax this Saturday, but how much stronger won't be clear until the teams are announced, though Lee Gregory is definitely still out. I think there will be goals in this one though.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14

Halifax will also be without their captain Danny Lowe in defence. Also Ryan Toulson in defence is out. Reece Gray is also out after his red card in the last match' date='[/quote'] Plus there are some in the doubtful category, although they sound hopeful they'll have some bodies back. For me, it's a hard one to call until the teams are named, although addpea is right in getting on Dartford now - the price is unlikely to go much further out.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14

To be fair even when Halifax have been full strength they have been crap away from home. Even their fans have been saying it is like watching two different teams.
That's certainly the case in some games recently, but overall when you dig a bit deeper they have been competitive as well. Cambridge away was going okay until the reds kicked in, and they had two off at Salisbury too. They were two up at Macc (drew 2-2) and somehow contrived to let FGR win with two late goals when they were one up, and they led three times at Luton before losing 4-3. They were a bit rubbish against Kidderminster though. Whichever way you cut it that's a pretty tough opening six away games. Since the 0-0 at Woking they've lost three: at Braintree (they were poor that day), 3-2 at Hereford (2-1 up), and 3-0 at Alfreton. I'm not defending them, just saying that they have actually been leading in quite a lot of games, which isn't usually the case with a team boasting such a poor record. Crap but not that crap.

It is a bit like Hyde though, they have been in front quite a few times and yet still haven't won a game. Maybe they will win tomorrow but I think the mental aspect comes into it now. The players have yet to win away and that will affect them in my view.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14 A couple of spread trades for me... Dartford/Halifax total goals at 2.95 (Sporting Index). The last three Dartford games wouldn't have made up at this mark, but I don't think the current Halifax side - whatever depleted XI they put out today - can hold on to a lead like Barnet and Gateshead. It just doesn't feel like a 1-0 game. I've also sold the time of the second Salisbury City goal at Macclesfield Town at 78 (Sporting and Spreadex). This isn't a trade that would have made up very often this season - Salisbury aren't too prolific away - but Macclesfield are conceding too many especially at home. Given their lack of firepower today with Connor Jennings on the sidelines for the rest of his spell, the Macc mini-performance is also a sell at 23 with Sporting.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem, North & South Dec 14 Very mixed from me and a losing session overall - on the fixed odds side Telford landed but Gainsborough failed, and on the spreads Salisbury hardly threatened a first rather than a second for a 12 point loss, and the late Macc goal meant the mini-performance finished with a 7point loss. Dartford and Halifax contrived three goals for a very small profit. Good calls by addpea on Telford, Colwyn Bay and Eastbourne - the latter are becoming the Jamie Taylor show, with 4 in his 3 games on loan from Sutton.
