Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Millwall V Derby County Millwall +0.25 @ 21/25 (Betdaq) 2 Units Terrible start to the season for Millwall, 3 defeats in their first 3 games but they managed to avoid the fatal blow at Wednesday and put in a good performance against Brighton in their most recent game. For me they are slowly but surely improving under Lomas and I see this as a chance for Millwall to get their first home points of the season. Steve Morison will be out for the home side which is a blow but it gives Scott McDonald the opportunity to impress. Lomas switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1 against Brighton and a similar module could overrun Derby in the midfield. Derry and Bailey look to be an imperious defensive midfield pair while the return to fitness of Trotter will be a huge boost to Millwall. Derby have played 2 away and won 2 away in the league this year so perhaps that helps explain the market valuation for this game. On the surface it would appear they have banished their travel demons but I remain unconvinced they can make it 3 away wins on the bounce against an improving Millwall side. Jeff Hendrick will be out for Derby which is a blow, a lot will rest on the shoulders of Will Hughes who is having a fantastic season so far but we must remember he is young so consistency isn't guaranteed when a player is 18 years old. I expect the main threat from Derby in this match will be Jamie Ward, he is a very effective attacking threat on that left flank and with Dunne being suspended, the replacement Millwall RB will have to retain maximum concentration throughout. Essentially Millwall should be on the +0 line for this encounter so to get +0.25 @ 5/6 is takeable in my view. I have pulled the trigger at 1.82 and anything from 1.80 upwards is doable for +0.25 in this situation imo. Obviously it's an early bet so many things can develop before Saturday, I am loathe to lay off a speculation once I've made it but the option is there if things turn really sour with team news etc. Will post again if I cancel. P.S. I have been looking at Betdaq's markets a lot this season and their liquidity for asian handicap is pretty good now, much better than before. Odds are excellent so peeps should definately check them out if you're betting on asian handicap football.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September 3pts Burnley to beat Blackburn 27/20 Bet365 Blackburn’s last two matches have given their fans hope and belief that they can achieve their aims and ambitions this season but this will be a tough ask for them. Secretly if you ask Rovers fans if they’ll take a draw I’m sure they will but if Rhodes doesn’t play that may be beyond them Burnley are performing well at both ends of the field and if they control their emotions they can edge this Lancashire derby. Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Millwall V Derby County update: A lot of strange and ambiguous team news has come to light in this game which has made things more complex for my selection (headache alert). First of all, Millwall have an injury crisis upfront with Morison, Keogh, McDonald and Easter all struggling with injuries, are they all definately out for tommorow? I don't know. John Marquis seems to be Millwall's only fit centre-forward so Lomas has bought in Martyn Waghorn on-loan from Leicester City, a player I rate very highly and someone that should be a very good addition for Millwall. Derby on the other hand are also having some injury problems, Hendrick as I've already mentioned is out while key winger Jamie Ward is struggling with a long term hamstring problem. He played the whole 90 mins for N Ireland midweek and doesn't report back to training until today where he will be assesed by the club. Centre-backs Shaun Barker and Mark O'Brien are both still out. Despite Millwall's striker issues I can't really bring myself to lay this one off as I still think the value is pretty outrageous, Waghorn is a good signing and may well give new impetus to the Millwall attack but more importantly I feel the home side can win the midfield battle here which will enable them to get a positive result. A tough decision me thinks but sometimes you have to make them.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September some team news for sheffield wednesday yeovil anthony gardner has snapped his achilles tendon so the likely centre half pairing is llera and zayatte these two both have a mistake in them especially zayatte. The only alternative would be to play buxton or spence out of position but i don't think jones will do this. I would have tipped selling the time of yeovil's first goal at 61 but paddy madden is out so that has put me off. So no tip just a few thoughts on wednesday's defence.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September I agree with the Milwall shout from Phantom. The one other pick I had lined up at start of week was Brighton +0.5 but they've come in a lot and I don't fancy them on a 0,25 line. At this point there is nothing else I fancy at this stage. Will have another look in the morning see if there are any price shifts but nothing much jumping out at me. If Morison wasnt out for Milwall would have strongly fancied them at price. He's a massive loss for Wall. Still think they are worth taking on handicap. Derby had a good start but got tonked at home in last match against Burnley. Way too short stil in my opinion.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Oh and the one other I am half considering is qpr on the Asian -1 at evens. They haven't beat this handicap all season but home to a poor brum is as good as chance as any. Made a couple of good loan signings from Spurs and Hoilett is back fit who makes a big difference for them with his pace and running at players. The one thing putting me off is that I nearly took them at 1.72 two weeks ago. The fact their price is now so much shorter is making me think I've probably missed the boat value wise on them. It's the old 'bet to nothing' conundrum that so often let's you down.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Bournemouth v Blackpool Bournemouth good at home won the last 6 ( Charlton & Wigan this season ) against leaders Blackpool - Blackpool have won the last 5 away fixtures at Bournemouth and have not beaten them at home since 1999/2000 - Eddie Howe is keeping his cards close to his chest about their new 1.6M signing Tokelo Randie and he is not expected back from South Africa until early Saturday. - Matt Richie missing this season, may feature but it might be too early to risk him. - Both may feature against Barnsley on Tues - Expect Bournemouth to line up with Pitman & Grabban up front. - Blackpool with a win at Doncaster and a draw at Middlesbrough and three 1-0 at home look like they have a sound defense and after Bournemouth shipping 6 & 5 at Watford and Huddesfield EH has tried to tighten up the defense and midfield......do not see many goals in this one as both sides will be cautious and might both be happy with a point. Under 2.5 ( 44.4 @ Spreadex )

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Hey , Why nobody mention Watford today ? They have strong team and great trainer (G.Zola ) . One single defeat in 5 matches , last round in 81' min at Blackpool ... I think Charlton is not capable to make something here ... Any info ? Ty and GL!

not that i dont appreciate stuff like this but its hard to use it with any confidence. for example, jack hunt has been sold to crystal palace by huddersfield so he is not injured or suspended. therefore, i cant count on the other being right without checking myself anyway

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Looking at the recent form, over 2.5 goals looks the bet at near 10/11 the pair. However goals in football are relatively scarce and as such prone to high variance. Add into the mix the confounders which can reduce goal probability - sudden cold/wet weather, early kick off, local derby. Under 2.5 goals is my choice at 1.952 (pinnaclesport) stake 1/10.

Hi Rosupro At first glance Watford do look a reasonable punt, but if you drill down their success is not that impressive as of yet. ( we are still in the early days of the season ) e.g Watford have only won 2 , drawn 2 and lost 1 of their 5 league games as opposed to Charlton's W1, D1, L3. Given that Watford's draw against reading relied on an injury time equaliser and they lost their last game to Blackpool, their form is not too clear in my eyes. Charlton on the other hand have had a poor start to the season, but a 2-1 win against Leicester is not to be sniffed at - and that was Leicester's only loss of the season, they may have turned the corner. Don't let me put you off Watford - they have every chance, but given the uncertainty of the form so far - I think there are better games for my money than this risky one

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September I saw Blackpool at Boro and they were like Wimbledon and Leeds of old - did everything they could to slow the game down and waste time. I could never see them scoring but they got a fortunate rick a shade to one of their players. To their credit they were well organised and did the basics well. I expect alot of low scoring games from them this season.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Btw - my picks for the Championship today are Forest and Watford, both will be top 6 sides and I am not expecting Barnsley and Charlton to be top half sides. I think Leicester's defeat at Charlton was just one of those games that goes against you. Watford's victory over Bournemouth showed they have the attributes of a top 6 side.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September

Millwall +0.25 @ 21/25 (Betdaq) 2 Units
FT: Millwall 1-5 Derby County = BET LOST ...And we were so close with this one, if only Millwall hadn't conceeded those 4 additional goals!!! A real crazy result but no excuses, sometimes this happens in football. Apologies if anyone followed. Hopefully I can cook up something decent for the midweek games.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September 4pts Brighton (+0.25AH) to beat Reading 1.92 Bet365 Reading ended a mini slump with a win over Yeovil before the international break but at the end of the day it was just a win over Yeovil and no disrespect to them but I need to see more than that before I believe the Royals have turned the corner. Brighton started the season very slowly under Oscar Garcia but they are unbeaten in three now and look to have found their feet. Obviously the international break muddies things a little but I like Brighton to at least avoid defeat here. Re: Sky Bet Championship > 14th & 15th September Reading are going to be an over 2.5 goals side this year especially at home, but both sides are still adapting to new management and this is an early kick off. Brighton's possession football can reduce the probability of goals too, as well as the international break and sudden inclement weather locally. Its not a confident selection but this feels drawish especially as both teams in slightly strange form and will be desperate to avoid defeat. and I think under 2.5 goals might be the play. Under 2.5 goals at 1.94 (pinnaclesports) stake 1/10.
